That man is downright malishus!! Hope the judge doesn't give HIM the keys!! I'd never see the light of day again!!

I hafta go stock up on bacon for Ms Kim-Char. Sounds like she may stay a few days...that is if she can tolerate the cat fur. She has allergies but is bringing her Benedryl. He's knows he's invited to the Bluebird too, but he can't stay too late. He's got to be at work at 5 a.m. to get Charlie Chase on the air on the Fox 17 morning show.

I'm pretty sure he'll show up for lunch though. I can't think of many of those ornery menfolk to turn down a free meal!

PS - I'm up at 1 a.m. to watch a rerun of today's Oprah. I'm a huge fan of the Osmond Family's music! I'm so glad they rerun the show in the middle of the night cuz I forgot to set my VCR while I was at work.

Good thing I ain't countin' solely on you ta come up with my bail bond! LOL 23 cents won't even buy me my last phone call these days! Good thing Tampa Stan is feelin' generous!! There's ONE good guy in our midst!! I already have one other donation, however, from someone here in town. Christmas is a tough time to ask folks for money...even for a good cause. This year is gonna be even harder on a lotta folks...what with the price of gas cutting into their disposable income. Guess I better stop bakin' cookies an' give my money to my jailers. (I'm just reciting this in case someone else reads it and I get some sympathy(sniffle)

Well, Charlann, ya see it's like this...a pasty is a kind'a meat pie in like a turnover crust. It's got little cubes of different stuff in it. The traditional stuff is beef, onions, potatoes...an there's a hot debate about whether or not to include rutabagas. I like 'em WITH rutabagas but some folks don't. The miners usta take 'em down in the mines with them to eat. Good source of meat and carbs when yer a hard workin' guy like a miner. However, they are purty filling for a butt-sitter like me...so I hafta not eat a steady diet of 'em!! I didn't MAKE these...I ordered 'em from this place in the UP of MI...called Jean Kay's Pasties. They were a mite 'spensive but hey...for a taste of yer childhood...they were cheap at twice the price. I've never even TRIED to make 'em...but I 'member my Mom making them. She'd make a huge batch of them at once and freeze some for later meals. Being a school teacher, there were times when she needed a quick meal ta fix and all ya hafta do with these is pop 'em in the oven. I think the recipe is online but I don't plan ta make any. Too time consuming (ya gotta cook the meat, etc first I suspect.

I see the Mudgie man has found a recipe. I will let him share it with ya. He's good fer sumpthin' at least!!

Well, Charlann, being as I got the OK (Well, didn't wanta' make her mad right "now", (later <G> ) being as there's cookies going to waste in Tn.) Here's a recipe. Sounds like a lotta' work

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup shortening
1 1/4 cups ice water
1 teaspoon salt
5 1/2 cups thinly sliced potatoes
2 carrots, shredded
1 onions
1/2 cup diced rutabaga
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 pound lean ground pork
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons monosodium glutamate (MSG)
1 cube beef bouillon
1/2 cup hot water

DIRECTIONS
Whisk together flour and salt in a large bowl. Cut shortening. Make a well in the center of the mixture, and quickly stir in ice cold water. Form dough into a ball. Set aside.
Dissolve the bouillon cube in the hot water. Combine uncooked vegetables, uncooked meats, salt, pepper, monosodium glutamate, and bouillon.
Roll out pastry dough into 6 x 8 inch rectangles. Place about 1 1/2 cups of filling in the center of each rectangle. Bring 6 inch sides together, and seal. Cut a slit in the top of each pasty. Place on dull, not black, baking pans.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 45 minutes

Well, laughs are good. Even heard they kin cure whut ails ya...although in some tough cases, I am not so sure!! What ails YOU prolly ain't curable. Never heard of a cure for mudgeonry 'cept mebbe TLC...an' who in their right mind is gonna wanna take a chance on THAT???? Mailin' cookies is one thing...providin' TLC is in a whole 'nuther class by itself!!

Cats may not "like" cookies but they sure 'nuff did eat a lot of 'em and even came back fur more!!

Actually hafta admit to a certain element of sympathy (not to the extent'a cryin' er nuthin') fur the puter woes. I still don't have my home puter hooked up yet. Drivin' me crazy...an' don't even GO there!! LOL I KNOW it ain't a fur piece fur me ta go. LOL Hope ya git all yer stuff back.

Gotta go make nametags for a big whooptidoo at the Frist Art Center tomorrow night. Gotta git all dolled up...ain't gonna hep much...but I do my best with whut I got!! LOL

Well, at least yer long term mem'ry ain't totally failed ya. TLC is a nice thing. LOL It's just purty tough for SOME folks ta git, ya know...'cause ya got ta be nice BACK, ya see. 'An THAT's the tough part fer some folks I know. No names shall be mentioned ta protect the guilty party...but I hear he likes cookies.

Well, in yer honor, I did close the windows so the cats couldn't git the rest of the cookies...but then I decided ta bring a big ol' thing of 'em in ta work...so now I am the most popular gal in the office. Kim-Char headed back to Chi-town with a couple'a baggies full'a cookies. Cain't stand ta see a woman beg fur cookies...er a man fur that matter. Actually, KC prefers bacon ta cookies...'er was that bacon AND cookies, not sure. LOL Her new cd is awesome!! You will love it...if'n ya have ANY taste whatsoever! That bein' questionable, of course!

Speakin' of cats...I figured out last night why the black cat seems so eerie to me. He was sittin' on the windowsill just beggin' ta come in...starin' at me and pacin' back an' forth. He's got PEOPLE eyes. Ya know how cats have those pupils that are like vertical slits??? This cat's got round pupils like us folks do. It is really weird looking in his eyes. Gives me a bizarre sense...plus with him bein' all black...seems like an evil thing. 'Course I know he's just a cat...but even fur a cat lover like me...it gave me the willies lookin' in his eyes last night. He's a male cat..an' he IS ornery!! Course for me, that's just a challenge ta try an' make him nice. LOL I left him a bowl of chicken soup on the porch last night. This mornin' it was gone..bowl an' all! Yowza!!!

You should be all right for a while. But since it's a male cat and you fed him, he'll prob'ly bring the bowl back for a refill. You know how those males are <G>

If you think long term an' enjoy the benefits of TLC..then it does help. Leastways if'n you want female TLC. Some of us are sorta pertikler that way!! If'n yer the kind whut prefers male TLC..guess all you gotta provide is the beer an' HDTV!! Oh an mebbe some hot wings an pretzels.

As fur that black cat...I actually can't be sure it is a male. Tough ta see on a black cat at night!! But he ACTS like a male cat. And yer right...he does seem like a devil cat. He doesn't have much iris in his eyes at all...just these huge empty black round pupils. YIKES!! Scary thing he is. I was sittin in front of the open window holding Ms Julia, hoping she'd go out and do her thing so I could go back to bed and get some more sleep. She tensed up and started growling before I knew that cat was out there. I shut the window immediately...and turned on the porch light. That cat was just sittin' there on the windowsill starin' at me with those big devil eyes!!! I will letya know if the bowl returns. Then we will know fur sure.

All that about TLC "does" sound vaguely familiar. Since you've undoubtably had more recent experience, I'll take your word for it till proven different. As far as male TLC, never did appeal to me, but to each his own I reckon. Personally, I never did think the male gender was much to look at compared to the female.

Well, yer right about THAT...if that bowl DID appear back on the porch..I am moving again!! ROFL!!! I am not living in the same neighborhood with a devil cat that has decided he wants in MY house!!! YIKES!!! Either move or git me a big ol' dog with a predilection fur black cats. Yeah...if'n KC was still in the neighborhood...she prolly WOULD go find that bowl and bring it back...just to skeer the bejeebers outta me. My hoosegow detainment isn't until Dec 6. Then, we will hafta see if it becomes permanent.

However, I was detained this mornin' by a good lookin' guy who came to replace a broken window. I fed him cookies. He said he'd come back an' fix anything else I have that is broken. ROFL I tole him I ain't got nothin' else broken that I cain't fix. LOL That is, unless he was able ta fix black cats. He laughed.

Will see if that works with the guy comin' ta fix the broken dishwasher next. Hmmmm...mebbe I am onto something with these cookies.

Ithink you may be as ornery as that blonde who lives down around Nashville somewhere. (Well, maybe not quite "that" ornery<G>). The one I used to get cookies from. I heard she was ailin' so no cookies from that direction. However, I'm presently eating Girl Scout cookies I got from back east somewhere so I'll be all right for a little while. Glad to hear you haven't been demised or anything Bobbelina. I'd hate to have to start a search for a new cookie maker. I mean , you can "find" a few but having been spoiled by scrumptous, mouth watering ones, they might not measure up.
As far as this thread being resurrected, I surely must've been born under the wrong star or something, cause I'm sure I never did nothin' to "deserve" such treatment <G>
