Hi,
Just signed in to see if this board was still active and I'm very glad to see it is. I'm just getting back into playing and writing music after a long hiatus.
I'm looking to meet other musicians and also find recommendations for good acoustic recording studios in the area.
Also wondering if there are any regular songwriter gatherings/critique sessions going on somewhere or an existing community? I went to the PACE open mic a few weeks ago and that was a great environment. Anything else like it around?

Hi Jenny-- I run a studio in central Connecticut, we try to cater to the performing songwriter crowd. We're 35-40 minutes from Springfield, right off of I-84. I got out of the habit of checking in here but I'm still around (though I've hardly created anything in the last several months) due to lack of inspiration, general sloth, and having joined a classic rock cover band (One-Eyed Jacks) as a keyboard player/harmony singer.

Hey guys and welcome Jenny -
For those of you who weren't aware, and since I haven't posted in the last two months most aren't - my son was in a car accident on April 7th, spent 16 hours in surgery on April 8th and most of the rest of the April in critcal care at Mass General in Boston. May was spent at Spaulding Rehab hospital in the Traumatic Brain Injury unit. We're finally home - his therapy and recovery will continue on an outpatient basis.
Hopefully things will get back to normal so we can get something going for the chapter again in the fall. For now - I'll be getting back to hosting one night a week at Bishops starting June 9th if anyone wants to stop by and say hi.
