Hee Haw (Parody of Jake Owens’ “Yee Haw”) At five o'clock each Saturday Heard that familiar song play He’s Buck and yeah, he’s Roy I was a happy little boy An hour of pickin’, grinnin’, havin’ a ball Hee Haw! Kornfield Kounty’s where I’d go, The girls were hot, the talkin’ slow. There’s Minnie Pearl, sayin’ How-dee! There’s the Quartet, singin’ so sweet I wonder what’s for supper, let’s ask Grandpa Hee Haw! You take your Lulu; you take your Stringbean A lotta of country songs an' some turnip greens An’ wrap it all up in a pair of overalls, y'all: You got your Hee Haw! The cornfield’s packed, the Naggers moan I love that “Gloom and despair” song My tears fall down, my side it aches How much laughing can I take You met another and “pfffft!” you were gone: All right, Hee Haw! You take your Lulu; you take your Stringbean A lotta of country songs an' some turnip greens An’ wrap it all up in a pair of overalls, y'all: You got your Hee Haw! Laughin’ at one lines, callin’ up BR-549, An’ Nurse Goodbody’s name pretty much said it all, yeah: How about a hee haw, ha, ha. Yep, Saaa-lute, h-e-e-h-a-w: hee haw. That’s all! ------------------ Check out my tunes @: http://www.myspace.com/coreyparkmansongwriter

"Where? OH! Where? Are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love. But you met another and pfft you were gone."
I loved "Hee Haw" We even got it all the way up here in Canada. EH?
You certainly captured it here in this lyric.
Great Job over all. NO 'nits' from the north.

Thanks Doug. Good to hear from you (been a long time since those Songwriting.org days, huh??). Hee Haw actually had its roots in Canada and 2 or 3 of the actors were Canadian. There are rednecks from everywhere. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Corey

Lots of fun Corey! I recognized most of it.....which is pretty good considering it's been decades since I'd seen an of these shows...(my father was much more prone to watching Lawrence Welk [[not my choice, I usually was not in the room]] But I do remember watching a few shows wa back when Hugh Hefner's girlfriend was a regular. My radio station in Texas has just started playing that Yeehaw song..so I couldn't follow the verses... but I could follow cosely along on the bridges. YEEHAW! er... I mean um HEE HAW! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) ------------------ Harriet http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/harrietamesmusic.htm

Hi Corey,
Lotta fun with this one. I do remember Minnie Pearl and that hat of hers with the dangling price tag!
Real cute verse here:
You take your Lulu; you take your Stringbean A lotta of country songs an' some turnip greens An’ wrap it all up in a pair of overalls, y'all: You got your Hee Haw
keep writing about those turnip greens. My Papa (grandfather) loved 'em.

Haven't heard the "Yee Haw" song, Corey, but I sure enjoyed the heck out of this one! Yep, we watched the show all the time and Kenny Price (a regular in the later years) was a local boy who done us all proud! I could picture all of them as I read through this ... thanks for bringing back some fun memories! ------------------ Mary Lou http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=61783 [This message has been edited by carrgirl1115 (edited 08-13-2006).]

Thanks Vanessa, Mary Lou, and Pete. Pete, I'm not sure if I was specifically referring to this as my new redneck lyric or not. I've kinda slowed down on the redneck lyrics lately, as too many country hits with the words "redneck" "hick" or "hillbilly" have kinda ruined the market for white trash songs these days. I'll be ready when they come back in 10 years though. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif)
