Thank you Ben..on that....... ..it was very thoughtful of you to come back.... and say that.... I was hoping folks might like Only September Knows..... I wrote it a couple of weeks ago....and was one where finding the notes came easily....I heard the melody...and went hunting...and bingo!!..instead of days or weeks hunting for what I heard in my head.......I was able to find the notes quickly..... I've written to a publisher and asked...if she felt it might be film material.... I'm hoping it might be worthy of being considered..... Yes, on Dawg..... but should let Bobbie respond on that.... I know I sure miss him...and...the board misses him....and I can't imagine..how much Bobbie misses him..... thank you... ..and best wishes.. Kaley.............. Hi Ben/Peter, Not sure which name you are going by these days...so I'll try both. Thank you for your kind thoughts about Corky. It has been a struggle dealing with the loss of someone we all cared about so much...but I do feel his presence still around me. (I can even tell when he is up to his usual mischief as he occasionally urges me to write some of the silliest songs! ) He was, as many will attest, always one to stand up for others. I think a lot of folks miss him here on this board. He certainly was a one of a kind talent. I appreciate your support. I don't know what I'd have done without the good folks here rallying around me. Looks like I forgot to give a kid report. Well, actually, just sang it today for the first time. Seth says AMEN when he likes something a lot. He said Amen after each practice session. Finally, Andre' said, "Seth, you don't have to say "Amen" every time she sings it! Guess the days of hearing unrestrained kudos from Andre' are fading fast. Ouch! He did like it though. But nothing competes with Critter Gitters (a program about conserving our natural wildlife---has a nutty professor type character in it who rallies the support of the neighborhood kids to save endangered animals.) Anyway he ran off to watch his favorite program while Seth stayed by for the whole Bird Words "show".

Hi Doug... Thanks for the compliments on the lyric. This was a fun one to write. I used to be director of a nature center so I've always wanted to write songs that would teach kids about nature as well as be fun for them to sing. Glad you approve! Hugs, Bobbie

Hey there Florida Gal and Ms. PineyFestive Woman,
Today I was singing Bird Words in the van on the way to the YMCA. Andre', now forced to listen since he had no other competing sensory influences to contend with, said, "Mommie, sing it again!" That was the first time I knew he liked the song. By the time we were leaving the swimming pool, he was singing the chorus. I guess I must have been singing it while swimming. Yes, I was as a matter of fact. LOL>
So, now you have two kids approving the melody and words. Oh, almost forgot, Andre' said on the way home, he liked the part where it says "Chicadee dee dee" the very best. And that was totally unsolicited. Thought you might get a kick out of that! I did.

Sorry, Kaley. I listened to the first part of this and it was "Ya'll Come" (which is what I mentioned in my original post) another song from that same era. Got confused.

Hi Kaley, Yeah, we had fun, you did teach me the timing on that one phrase but 10 minutes wasn't long enough for me to get it into my vocal cord muscle memory. The other day someone visited my Soundclick site and Bird Words was the only song that would load for him. He said he liked it though. I really should re-record it with my new equipment and get that phrase right, or either take it off my Soundclick page. Hope I haven't done too much damage to either your or Bobbie's career!  Hey, seriously, if you ever did want me to do a 'worktape' vocal for a song----I'd give it my best shot, cos you're so special.  vanessa

I am not sure which name to use here but I certainly want to thank you for your thoughtful words regarding Corky's passing. So many folks here in JPF have been so incredibly caring and supportive...it has truly made me feel as though I am surrounded by people who truly loved him. He was certainly one of a kind...and I miss him terribly. But he still occasionally prods me to write some sort of silliness..though I'll never be able to capture "his" spirit in lyrics. Your kind words are truly appreciated.
I agree with you on Kaley's melody for ONLY SEPTEMBER KNOWS. Whew. Incredibly moving melody.

Oh My Twirpers & Chirpers..... I'm losing it... ... Bobbie... I saw "Only September Knows" Mentioned....and thought...Ise gone off the Deep End.... No, wait a minute...that was yesterday.... I'm only slightly off center today. ..... Afternoon Hugs..to you kk V .... I picked it up at Barnes and Noble when we went to the city..... Some of it makes things more understandable... Most of the recording words.. are like a foreign language to me.... Folks keep saying..I should try Midi...etc... but unless I figure where to hook up where...and what to do what with.what.. It's frustrating....So I'm hoping...I can improve on some things.... I did get adventurous...and tried some new sounds on the piano... and although they're probably less than....real sounding... Just using those different sounds sparked a song... We'll both grow gal.... keep at it... and truthfully, I didn't laugh.... at t'all..Ya don't know how many times I go in and read in the recording area and music theory..area., and don't ask questions... because I'm not sure they'd like to explain everything I'd need to know...to understand..square one....
