Howdy Stan, I like the lyrics and the metaphor. Being a woodworker myself, I see the paralell of taking an old peice of worn funiture and making it look like new and taking a heart that has been hardened by time and circumstance and have someone find all the good underneath. Good write!

HiDee Rittster!
V1's just part of a "Thank You Note" to Someone I find Inspirational. She's a Bit of a Composite...
This Should make a Fine Video..Someday Along the Pike.

Thanks Rob!
Was afraid the Double Use of "Grain" there would be Confusin'..but Glad it's seeming to work out OK!
I, too, am fond of fine Furniture & Woods. You'd LOVE some of the Grandfather Clock cases we get in here!
Gotta Scoot! (Posted a Second Lyric at Board 2 This AM..."REDNECKS and REAL FOLKS"..You'll prolly like, too!) Thanks Amigo!

Stan,
This is going to sound "really petty" and even goofy, and you shouldn't change the line because of, but I have to let you know, (why I don't really know), that lacquer doesn't soak in anything. It dries right away on wooden surfaces. Varnishes soak in though! Now, to have some fun with this little detail, you could say "tung oil" instead of lacquer, as tung oil is a varnish and soaks in! SEE? Silly to mention it all huh? But I'm feeling like a silly refinisher now. Bet that's the strangest critique you had yet!
John, the hand rubbed varnisher!

TampStan, Pretty lryic you've written here. "The mystery and magic of 2 hearts" never thought of it that way before sometimes love is a big mystery yet magical. Nice Job.
Ps. I had to change my username so instead of "theairshack" I'm "punkydoodle9" now. Glad to be back on the board reading your words of wisdom again. LOL

G'Mornin' Brother John!
Havin' worked at several Ad Agencies in the Past...Publi Synthese in Brussels, & MBC here in Tampa, 1st Job-Around, I KNOW the Importance of "Word Magic"...
"Lacquer" jus' Sounds BETTER than "Tung Oil" and "Varnish"... ;-)>
I also USE Lacquers...Daily. G.J. Nikolas Clear (& Gold Dye) Lacquers...Best In Da Biz..for Lacquering Polished Brass. I occasionally use these for WOOD..simply 'cuz they're Quick and Work jus' Fine for what I needs 'em for: Touchups on Old & New Wood Clock Cases.
They DO "soak in"...until the Wood is Saturated. I then often "Hand Rub" 'em until I get the Smooth surface I need. Somtimes Fine-Steel-Wool results to match a Satin Finish.
Where Big Chunks of Wood are Missin', I use Artist's Acrylic in Various Shades...Burnt Umber is a "Staple!" Then when it's dried, I'll lacquer-it-in 'till it's all Matched Up.
I don't claim to be a Wood-Pro...but I've been using my Method for over 25 years..& it's Worked Well. (Especially when we're about to deliver a Grandfather Clock that's been on the Floor for Months & discover it's got a big Nick on the Bottom..about 10 Minutes before Scheduled Delivery..heh!)
For these "Reasons" I guess I'll stick with "Lacquer." It's basically "Nirtocellulose-Based" insteada "Polyvinyl Chloride-Based (these Days)" but it just plain Overall SOUNDS Better,...IMO!
I DO Thank Ya for the Kind Visit & Professional Insight! (I also know Lacquer was ORIGINALLY made from the Juice of the Lac INSECT---Ewww! Ain't Progress Wunnaful!)
Thanks Again, Amigo, & A Big Guy-Hug, Stan

HiDee "PunkeyDoodle"/"Airshack" Nice Lady! & THANKS for the Real Kind Visit, Selina!
{I've got about 3 Glasses of Zin Too-Many in me Tonight..er, Hell, it's This AM Already! Big Bad Throat & Chest Cold...Self-Medicated to Death..heh-heh!}
Prettymuch-Inebriated-4AM-Suggestion: When I hear "Selena" I think of the SEXIEST Soul Chick on Da Block. So Re-Title Yo'Self "Velvet69" or SOMETHING WAY-Sexier to go with your SMOOOOTH Name, M'Lady!!! (Even if you're White...OK?) ;-)> You are HOT..and You Got SOUL, accordin' to those Kind Words you Just Wrote Me.
Feel Free to Whup Me if I'm WAY Outta Place...
I Usually Am.
BIG Thanks and BIG Hugs, Li'l Forehead Smooch, Ol' Stan
