Its my pleasure to announce the first monthly meeting of 2004 for the Tampa Bay Chapter of Just Plain Folks to be held on Sunday, Feb 29th 4pm at Johnny G's located at 5915 Memorial Hwy Tampa 813-584-0853.
Network with other independent artists. Bring along any promotional material you wish to distribute and your instrument of choice as everyone is invited to showcase on one of the hottest stages in Tampa Bay.
We are expecting many new members due to interest shown at the Taxi/JPF seminar held on Jan 29th so this is one you don't want to miss.
We look forward to an absolutely fabulous year of great things from our ever evolving Tampa Bay Music Scene!

I can't think of a better place to showcase my new band, The Southern Komfort Band (SKB), then at a JPF meeting. SKB Features Sherri Lynn on vocals, Joe on Drums, Wrebleman on Bass, and your's truly on lead whistle. Hope to see everyone there...Q

Im really looking forward to seeing everyone together again. We are getting alot of confirmations off line as well so get ready for alot of new faces.

Have you gotten any responses from the meeting list for the chapter meeting? Hopefully we can bring some of those folks into the regular chapter. Also, did you contact them about the fact we posted their pics?

Yes I have gotten responses and we will have a good turn out from the Taxi/JPF seminar at the Feb 29th meeting. By good turnout I would expect an additional 30plus to our already established membership.I sent out a notice about the Pix on the roadtrip page and have some response on that also, all good. Al

Hi Folks,
I would like to ask that everyone pass the word along about this Feb meeting. I think its very important to all of us to have a good turn out and to reap the benefits of the information and musical experience that will be shared here. I have been having alot of trouble with my e-mail lately and as you can probably tell have not been able to send. This means that in the next couple of days I will attempt to contact over 150 folks on our contact list by phone.This in the midst of a seminar my office is hosting locally on the 26th for folks interested in investment properties. Guys I am SLAMMED. Please help, if you can please respond here and Ill call on you.

Folks,
I just heard from our schedualed guest speaker, Curtis Ross from the Tampa Tribune and he had to cancel. Apparently an engagement a coleague was supposed to cover fell on him at the last minute. He called and asked that I apologize to the group for him and promissed to guest speak at a meeting in the near future and bring his guitar also. Just goes to show we had a top notch guy who is in demand. But, the show will go on. We have plenty of topics to cover with alot of new folks coming in.

Al,
You might want to give everyone a chance to introduce themselves, tell what they do, what they are looking for, their goals etc.. in a minute or two each, around the entire room. You may do this anyway, but without a speaker, you'd have more time to do it. It might be a good time to get a head shot of all the members and their names and websites for a JPFolks Chapter page. (Without the names and websites and email addresses, those pics we got at the last event aren't as useful.. though I put a few on the home page if you all hadn't seen them).
I know LA would like another stab at having a Chapter page on this site again and perhaps that will allow us to do the same for Tampa. What do you think?

Yeah that was a bummer losing our guest speaker at the last minute like that but.....
Weather we have a guest speaker or not we always give folks a chance to get up and share their info with the group. During the meet and greet Ill be networking and seeing who is there and finding out whats what with them, believe me we make it very interactive.As for the head shots Ill work out someway we can get the info about those on the roadtrip page to you. Im thinking we might take a laptop in and have folks come over and identify themselves to us and then pass the info along to you.And yes Ive seen the pix on the homepage. Wow, Im very pleased and honored to have those up there. Thanks Brian!
