CORPORATE GOOSESTEP lryics by Kenny the Gardener c.2005
Wal-Mart is invading your land. One visa their master card plan. Mcdomination of all that they see. One world global economy.
Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Do the corporate goosestep Die! Die! Die!
We send our soldiers to a foreign soil. To protect our investment in oil. See the name on the refinery. A big American company.
Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Don’t think just do it. Buy! Buy! Buy! Do the corporate goosestep. Die! Die! Die!
Exploitation of the common man Makes everyone a hired hand. Eliminate the competition Brings economic deconstruction.
Factory is shutting down. Businesses are leaving town. A repressed economy. Layoffs for profits all I see. I was told the company . Was moving out of the country. Now look at all the stuff sold. Coming from all over the world. Lost my job to a sweatshop girl! Lost my job to a sweat shop girl! My job moved to a third world! Lost my job to sweatshop girl!

ROCKABILLY KID by Lenny Solomon © 2005
He said life had no rules, so he dropped right out of school At the tender age of seven, seemed to know that his and heaven’s Paths would probably never cross, ‘cause nobody could be his boss Got a guitar at a pawn shop, from that time he didn’t stop And, he’d drink, ‘till he couldn’t think Walk into walls, fall down the halls, where he lived That rockabilly kid
Stetson hat, Ranchwear shirt, he’d say, momma, let’s talk dirt Cowboy boots, sequined vest, he’d say honey, be my guest Guitar slung low, mouth on the mic, he’d sing his songs all through the night In-between the sets he’d double, as a gamblin’ man get into trouble And, then he’d drink, ‘till he couldn’t think Walk into walls, fall down the halls, where he lived That rockabilly kid
Now he’s old, lost in time, sings for you, for one thin dime Tells you not to be a mourner, about his life down on the corner Where he sings from noon to night, ‘til all the folks are gone from sight Then he packs his ol’ guitar, heads down to the nearest bar Where he drinks, until he can’t think Walk into walls, fall down the halls, where he lived That rockabilly kid

My Father’s Hands Janet Huderski @ February 23, 2004 Hands that gently rocked away his tiny infants cries, Hands that often wiped the tears from troubled teenage eyes, His hands could be soft or stern, used for reprimand or grace, When I held my father’s hands, I knew my heavenly father’s face.
We are called to be the feet and hands of our savior dear, To let others know in times of pain that their Lord is near, To go forth into this troubled world with encouragement for all. Those dear hands, my father’s hands were faithful to that call.
Dear Jesus, let him be there when I reach that heavenly place, So I might find myself once more in Daddy’s warm embrace.
Hands with cuts and blisters, scarred and marred with dirt, Mute testimony to his family of his sacrifice and hard work, His were hands that ably mended both broken toys and broken hearts, When I held my father’s hands, I knew my heavenly Father’s heart.
We are called to be the feet and hands of our savior dear, To let others know in times of pain that their Lord is near, To go forth into this troubled world with encouragement for all Those dear hands, my father’s hands were faithful to that call.
I hope to see his smiling eyes in that heavenly place, that I might find myself once more in Daddy’s warm embrace.

You Win By Bob Bencze, Burning House Music (c)2004
One last Hail Mary One last drive Just one last prayer Keep this love alive
One last buzzer beater Just one last shot We hit the rim Then we just fell out
But as the boo’s and cheers all fade away You’re still laughing from up above All the bookies know that this game was fixed It’s a mean arena, leaner kind of love
One last split decision One referee I’ll take the fall For all to see
One last knockout, drag out One last round It’s a TKO, I’m going down
But as the booze and tears all fade away I see you dancing glove to glove Bare knuckles, scorn and that ridicule Were our king sized, ring side kind of love
You can take the money You can have the house If you’re gonna take it all, honey You win
One last cigarette My blindfold’s on Just shoot me now I’ll be dead and gone
One last appeal I’ve got just one last request Aim for my heart That’s what you do best
But as the smoke and mirrors fade away I see you there just smiling still In this game called love you always win You never come to harm, you’re armed to kill
You can take the money You can have the house If you’re gonna take it all, honey You win

POWERLESS written by Sapan Shah c. 2006
u got a hold on me, like pain to the scar u're all over me, too close to get far yeah i'm so used to be... within and without there's bound to be... something going in my mind going round n round.... yeah...
i'm powerless i wake up everyday alone thinking about new ways to run i'm powerless i desire the way u think u r but hate the things u've done so far n i'm powerless
u got a hold on me, to be where u belong n i can't be lost, but i just can't find a way out n i'm walking on... on the roads that u've gone but there's more below, the grass i need to start a road that i can form... yeah
i'm powerless i wake up everyday alone thinking about new ways to run i'm powerless i desire the way u think u r but hate the things u've done so far n i'm powerless
and every little thing that i want to do, is what u've already made it through and every little thing you ever dream was me... and every day we're smiling on like we've just met each other, just had each other just each other...
i'm powerless i wake up everyday alone thinking about new ways to run i'm powerless i desire the way u think u r but hate the things u've done so far n i'm powerless

"One More Time" Brenda Caunter (aka BC Adems) c. 2005
They say it's not always gonna be this way, Someday I might not feel so much pain. There are times I walk around in a daze, Searching for the right words to say.
You know it just doesn't feel so right, That I'm the one that has to struggle to fight. These things that life has dealt to me, Is it fate or is it my destiny...
You say feel it, I say no. You say through the pain's the only way to go. You say you have to walk through it one more time. Thats the only way to save your life.
Where to begin, Where do I start. To drive that knife, right through my heart. A million thoughts are racing in my head, I can't help but think I'd rather be dead.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no coward I am strong. I've survived a life of hell that lasted too long. I'm just not sure I can go through it again, How do I know the heartache and tears will make it end...
You say feel it, I say no. You say through the pain's, the only way to go. You say you have to walk through it one more time, That's the only way to save your life.
I don't want to cry, I don't want to feel the pain. I don't want to hurt, I don't want to feel this shame. It's taking all that I am, To convince me I'm not to blame..
You say feel it, I say no. You say through this pains, the only way to go. You say you have to walk through it one more time, That's the only way to save your life.

U I Am Greguez c.2006
I don't know if we're going that much further before colapsing in on ourselves. But I know the only way to pull through We got to take care of each other.
Think for yourself And always consider the other.
You are a Universe guided through tugging currents with choices made
You vibrate with the essence of life Every feeling, thought and action Reverberates and changes the space around you
Each Universe responds. Vibrations travel Until all have moved We are together U I am.

All The Lonely People by Harry Becker © 2006
Well, the story goes, Sir Isaac Newton sat beneath a tree. An apple falling on his head disturbed his reverie, averting his attention, from what was on his mind, till he could find an explanation.
But the secrets of the universe were not his only thought, answers to such questions, not the only ones he sought. Why was he beneath that tree with no one by his side, no one to confide to as he pondered?
Consider all the sad and lonely people in this world, Logic might suggest a remedy. It’s just a matter of time, they should find comfort in each other’s company.
But there’s no place for logic in discussions of the heart. The subject of what’s smart does not arise. The nature of attraction is unclear, when two bodies near, the laws of gravitation don’t apply.
And so we plot our journeys and travel to the stars, And wonder just how far we’ve really come. The unresolved equation still remains, science can’t explain all the lonely people.

WAR BETWEEN THE STATES R.B. LANCASTER, JR. Copyright applied May 25, 2006
FROM THE 'STATE' OF MATRIMONY TO THE 'STATE' OF BEING FREE I COULD GIVE MY HEART IF ONLY FOR THIS WAR INSIDE OF ME
SO I’VE GOT TO BE DECIDIN’ WHAT I LOVE AND WHAT I HATE TO KEEP MY HEART FROM DYIN’ IN THIS WAR BETWEEN THE STATES
(Chorus) IN THIS WAR BETWEEN THE STATES DO I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO FIGHT HARD PROTECTING ME OR AM I THE ENEMY? IN THIS WAR BETWEEN THE STATES I’M UNDER SEIGE TO OVERTAKE THE ENEMY IN ME THAT’S FIGHTIN’ IN THIS WAR BETWEEN THE STATES
(Bridge) MY BABY SAYS THAT WE SHOULD MAKE US LEGAL I ALWAYS TELL HER THAT I WILL FOLLOW THROUGH BUT SHE’S TIRED OF ME TELLING HER THAT "I WILL" NOW WHAT SHE WANTS TO HEAR ME SAY IS "I DO"
(Chorus)
(Bridge) WISDOM SAYS THAT WHEN YOU DEAL WITH ROMANCE THE BEST THINGS START WHEN THEY SEEM TO END AND IF I'LL JUST USE THE SECRET OF SURRENDER I’LL SEE...SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA LOSE TO WIN
(Chorus)

No Compromise Michael Duer c. 2004
Verse 1 Sorry guys, but I really got to go, temperature rising red blood cells low Try to beat the disease, but its unrelenting, so I take these med’s to help keep me living Days all start with nausea and fatigue, radiation side effects you just wouldn’t believe Sometimes I lay in bed look up to the sky, with tears in my eyes I got to ask my God
Chorus Why? I don’t want to die How can I survive? When there’s no compromise (give and take life)
Verse 2 Worst part of the day, is when I got to go to school, to hear those words so demeaning and cruel Yeah I’m pale as a ghost and my skin is pealing, no I don’t have hair, but I do have feelings My true friends have been there thru thick and thin, with compassion, laughter, they encourage me to win And God only knows I couldn’t of made it this far without the overwhelming love from my mother and father
Verse 3 They’re strong as steel and their always smiling, but deep down inside I know their crying Wanting nothing else but to take my place, but knowing only I can run this race I’d give anything to relieve this strain, the hurt they feel, the inevitable pain I pray all thru the night and into the day and hope God will intervene when I say
Chorus Why? I don’t want to die How can I survive? When there’s no compromise (give and take life)
Verse 4 Today I felt like I was pulled from a cave, out of the darkness and into brighter days Inspired by the Man who also took a fall, had to suffer thru hell before he rose above it all Even when I thought I was at the end of my rope, I relied on faith and never gave up hope Guess I could’ve given up and went down in ball, but I’d rather swing and miss than not swing at all
End Chorus
I I’m not going to die Somehow I survived We found a compromise (take and give life)

IT’S BEEN A LONG HARD RIDE by Brandy Wayment (c) 2006)
I’ve been the caregiver, the caretaker, Cook, maid, and moneymaker Now all I want `s a little time for me
I’ve been raising kids and paying bills, Not much time for anything else Been on a date a couple of times You know it’s been a long hard ride
(Chorus) I don’t know what I’m looking for Something special, something more Someone to share my dreams with me And in a crowd, he would be proud To be in my company
I want calls at work just to hear him say “Hey honey, how’s your day?” I wanna know somebody cares
I wanna be hugged & kissed & know I’m missed By a man I can’t resist I wanna feel that passion burn deep inside You know it’s been a long hard ride
(Chorus)(faster) Now I’m not sayin’ I need a man It’s just that every now and then Sometimes in the middle of the night It might be nice, to hold someone tight And remember what love feels like
(Repeat to close) Yeah it might be nice, to hold someone tight And remember what love feels like . . .

Imagine That World H Hanson (Hugo H Hanson) © 04/30/2006
The traffic stands still, and I'm stuck on a highway My mind’s drives me mad with what’s wrong about my day The radio barks out the latest bad news I grip the wheel tighter, to fight the road raging blues
I want to live in a world where cars drive without gas I'll live in the present, and forgive my past Imagine a world where enemies become friends And I know myself beyond this noise in my head Imagine that world
I walk in the door dragging my feet My kid's all stressed out says he's got to compete He needs help with his homework as I'm startin to fade What's wrong with this picture the boy's just in third grade
I want to live in a world where from an early age We’ll learn that life’s a river not a losing game Picture a world where we paint with a brush Our own watercolor with the master’s touch
Can you picture that world?
We crawl into bed and lie there awake I bring up the bills and the money we make We're workin more hours running for our lives But the debt keeps on rising for us to survive
I want to live in a world where we share the wealth Look each other in the eye and see ourselves Where everyone has a piece of the pie And less is more will be a part of life
I want to live in that world Let’s step out of our shells and take hold of our lives There are signs all around if we’ll open our eyes Don’t miss the train comin it'll be on time Let’s climb aboard and leave our baggage behind
I want to live in a world where we share the wealth Look each other in the eye and see ourselves Imagine a world where enemies become friends And we know ourselves beyond the noise in our heads
Can you picture that world? Imagine that world; I want to live in that world,

Prayer for New Orleans Nathan A. Baker Copyright ©2005
If I could go back for a moment If I could go back for just one more day To my home sweet Louisiana Never more would I stray
Gentle River takes my prayer Float it home by the long slow way Till you come to the Big Easy New Orleans by the surging sea
It’s going to be a lonesome journey Trumpet’s voice can still be heard But I’ll stay on the straight and narrow Till my time away be served
Gentle River takes my prayer Float it home by the long slow way Till you come to the Big Easy New Orleans by the surging sea
Misplaced and scattered, possessions gone, Tired, troubled, and miles from home Despair settles but I’ll not give in Lord gives me strength to rise again.
Gentle River takes my prayer Float it home by the long slow way Till you come to the Big Easy New Orleans by the surging sea
Roll on River to the deep blue sea Till peace comes home to Big Easy

THE BALLAD OF BOB DYLAN © Norman Lamont
He flew in from Miami with a bagful of bones I was singing in the airport bar, just to pay off some loans Two sleepless eyes in an unmade face He saw me at the bar, he said "This must be the place!" Said he was looking for a room for the night He said his name was Bob Dylan, I said "Ha ha, right!"
He spent the night at my place on a couple of chairs In the morning he was up and off and down the stairs I found him in the marketplace, busking for cash Playing my guitar in a rough and ready kind of fashion A voice like a hangover looking for a cure I said you sound like Bob Dylan, he said "Why sure."
Twenty miles away, high security hospital They were looking for a guy who'd jumped the wall They were looking in the streets they were looking in the zoo No way of knowing what this kind of man might do They only thing they'd got on him while he was away Was he was into Bob Dylan in a big big way.
My friend with his busking made a couple of pounds And with a couple of mine that got a couple of rounds We sat there reminiscing back down the line To the sixties, how we hadn't recognized them at the time When this guy burst in, grabbed my friend by the sleeve And says 'I'm Bob Dylan' - I thought Man, time to leave
They got stuck into each other, I never saw the stranger's face Barman's yelling at me Get these guys outta the place Spitting out language, they were spitting out blood It was like watching Cain and Abel, before the flood. Got out to the street and the stranger was gone My friend Bob Dylan just picked up his bag of bones
(This is what he told me ...)
'That guy there used to be a country western star Who put down his roots and never wandered far With his Jewish mama and five kids on the farm It had been too damn long since he'd done any harm. His wife cut his throat, he had to get born again I got his job, he's been after me since then.'
What about the bones? He said 'I carry them with me They remind me of a guy I knew in 63 He could have been a big shot, I told him back then But he turned into a junkie - well I ain't no judge of men.' That was his tale, as the evening wore on When I woke up in the night Bob Dylan had gone.
He'd taken my guitar and my cowboy boots My country singing tie and my country singing suit Left me his bones, and some kinda book It might have been a Bible, I never got time to look 'Cause they kicked down the door, they walked in real slow They said 'We're looking for Bob Dylan' I said 'Whaddya know?'
These days I don't work much, guess I'm past my prime I'm growing me a beard, that passes the time I'm living in the country but I'll get across the wall When I get a better grip of my short-term recall Some days I feel bitter, some days I feel worse I just write another song and play it to the nurse.

Artificial Cowboy by Richard Harris Copyright January 2, 2006
Well he's an artificial cowboy from Ontario He hasn't seen a cow up close since 1989 But he drives a pickup truck And he wears a cowboy hat And he listens to country music all the time
Yes, he's an artificial cowboy Of horses he has none His ranch is in Etobicoke and he sure don't own a gun
Well he smokes American cigarettes Yeah, he's a Marlboro Man And he likes to drink Budwiser Right out of the can
You'll never see him wearin' shoes All he owns are boots And he wears blue jeans every day He doesn't own no suits
Well he's a man who likes to go with the latest trend So someday soon this cowboy phase is going to reach an end He'll gather all his cowboy duds and put them all away Or maybe he'll just put them up for sale on E-Bay

DON’T BUY ANY GREEN BANANAS Robert Gaspar Copyright 2001
My doctor shook his head starin’ at my x-ray I got a sinkin’ feelin’ it was doomsday I said break it to me easy doc I’m not very brave He put his hand on my shoulder ‘n said, well Dave
CHORUS
Don’t Buy Any Green Bananas Live today like there’s no tomorrow Buy yourself a big twenty-dollar Havana But Don’t Buy Any Green Bananas

REPEAT CHORUS:

CHORUS:
No not Buyin’ Green Bananas Livin’ today like there’s no tomorrow Puffin’ on my big twenty-dollar Havana No no Buyin’ Green Bananas

Fallen Angel by Kathryn Grimm Copyright 2005
You’re down and out, I feel your pain You’re sitting there alone again You dry your eyes, try to find the strength To make it through another day
CH: Fallen Angel, Fallen Angel How I can I help you fly? Fallen Angel, Fallen Angel When the whole world has passed you by
Loneliness is hardly the word For how this feels, hurt beyond hurt Lower than the ground that you see No love to share, no company
Fallen Angel…
Oh I wish I could bring you back You know I’ve give anything If you let me, I would give you that But all you know is pain
Starving for the love you can’t have Nobody helps nobody understands Circumstances put you here And here’s where you’ll stay year after year
Fallen Angel…

She tiptoes past the bedroom door Leaves the letter on the table There’s a cardboard suitcase holding all she owns The picket fence can’t keep her anymore.

And now’s the time to Cross The Line It's the only way to keep her dreams alive In the heartbeat of the moment she decides To Cross The Line and touch the sky
V3
The city towers with its steel and stone Her tiny room is dark and silent A midnight siren moans beyond the walls Eating at her hunger to carry on
CH
And now’s the time to Cross The Line It's the only way to keep her dreams alive In the heartbeat of the moment she decides She’s never going under
Br
It’s in a lesson learned that no-one ever told her It’s made the difference in deciding what is real To know that deep inside, the journey’s never over It helps her understand the thing that really matters She is free to choose the way she feels The way she feels
CH
That’s why it’s time to Cross The Line It's the only way to keep her dreams alive In the heartbeat of the moment she decides She’s gonna touch the sky
CH
And now’s the time to Cross The Line It's the only way to keep her dreams alive When the moment is a chance to touch the sky Oh is it any wonder she crossed the line

MERCY CALLING Zoretta Hopkins 5-2006
Can’t seem to sleep, don’t want to eat Don't want to go, don't want to stay Above my head and in the air I hear your voice, sending me there
A higher plane, new level to find A hope of joy, I'll wear a crown But yet I hold on.. to the things I must let go Your grace and mercy press me so...
Chorus: Don't want to be cut off from your grace Because I procrastinate. I know delay my blessing When I do not obey. But I hear your mercy calling As I stand in this place Oh Lord, I feel you in this place
And so I prayed for obedience To come and fill, my activeness Struggling in my flesh, my mind said no But then my heart, my soul said press and go!
Chorus: No I won’t be cut off from your grace Lord I will obey! I wanna be holy and righteous When I stand before your face So glad I hear your mercy calling As I stand in this place Oh Lord, I feel you in this place
Bridge: I feel your love....reaching out to me I feel your grace...the one that saves me I feel your love....Reaching, reaching I feel your grace... Saving, saving I feel , I feel…
I feel your mercy calling as I stand here today, Oh lord..I feel you in this place Oh...Lord, Lord I will be obey.... Oh...Lord, Lord I will be obey....

Walking on Sacred Ground Joanne Lurgio/BMI c. 2005
(V1) I heard the song; the angels calling They sang prepare, it won’t be long There is a place, for me in heaven Soon I will see my savior‘s face (V2) All of my pain, will be forgotten Oh what joy, he’ll call my name This heavy load, set on my shoulders Will be lifted when he carries me home (CH) I’ll leave my shoes at heaven’s door I won’t be needing them no more I’ll be walking on sacred ground When my time with you is done I know my spirit will live on I’ll be walking on sacred ground (V3) It breaks my heart; that I must go It’s much too soon for us to part But know my love, when I have gone I will comfort you from above (CH) I’ll leave my shoes at heaven’s door I won’t be needing them no more I’ll be walking on sacred ground When my time with you is done I know my spirit will live on I’ll be walking on sacred ground (V4) Now don’t you cry, we’ll say goodbye Though it’s only for a while And everyday, just remember I’ll be only a whisper away (CH) I’ll leave my shoes at heaven’s door I won’t be needing them no more I’ll be walking on sacred ground When my time with you is done I know my spirit will live on I’ll be walking on sacred ground Yes, I’ll be walking on sacred ground (TAG) I’ll leave my shoes at heaven’s door I won’t be needing them no more I‘ll be walking on sacred ground

This is lyric #424
Bonnie & Clyde by Michael Massimo
He was a renegade writer He was a poet in his prime He was tiring from finding inspiration all the time He was hungry for adventure Get in trouble if he could And a drive across the country just might do himself some good Someone riding shotgun Too pretty to ignore With just a little mischief, spirited and sure He was looking for a partner Who would like to take a ride He was looking for a Bonnie to his Clyde
She was a diva desperado Always had a new address She was thinking that this town might have her settling for less Never seeing what she needed And her career was near the end And a feeling so familiar said it's time to go again Someone who's a hero With nothing left to prove With just a little mystery and always on the move She was looking for a partner Didn't want to be a bride But she'd love to be a Bonnie to a Clyde
On the run, by my side I could dream, you could drive Take the world by surprise On the run, by my side
It was a hole up in the highlands It was open all the time It was just the kind of place you'd find a partner to a crime He was hustling the hot shots She was drawing him away So he talked to her a while and they had a lot to say She said "I'm getting tired of living The same day year after year" He said "I think it's time the both of us were getting out of here And don't ask me where we're going 'Cause I don't have a clue There is nothing here for us to come back to"
On the run, by my side I could dream, you could drive Take the world by surprise On the run, by my side
Someone riding shotgun Too pretty to ignore With just a little mischief always spirited and sure
He was looking for a partner Who would cross the Great Divide He was looking for a Bonnie to his Clyde

Stone On Water Bozwell / Five Firs Music c. 1997
In that little house on your old street I can still remember every creak 'Cause in those days of late night talk and wine I swear your mother fed me more than mine
(chorus): When I get some time to ponder Well, my mind skips like a stone on water But I always end up lost in wonder We just turn our backs and it all just slips away
In those years when angels cleared a path You dreamt out loud and someone did the math Parting late in such sweet sorrow To do it all again tomorrow
(chorus): When I get some time to ponder Well, my mind skips like a stone on water But I always end up lost in wonder We just turn our backs and it all just slips away
(bridge): We'd sit in the kitchen and talk to your folks Our friends would drop by and we'd laugh 'till we'd choke And then you just get caught in what you've got going on And then the house and the people and the whole damn thing is gone
(chorus): When I get some time to ponder Well, my mind skips like a stone on water But I always end up lost in wonder We just turn our backs and it all just slips away

Orange Tabby (It’s the Same Old Pain) by Bobbie Gallup ASCAP © 2006
Old black man standing on the shoulder Waiting for the cars to pass I was slowing down to turn That’s when I saw the cat A big old orange tabby Lying in the other lane Saw the old guy wipe away his tears And I had to do the same I could see his heart was breaking Cause he’d just lost his friend And I’d have done most anything To bring that cat back again I’ll probably never shake his hand And I’ll never know his name But my heart went out to him Cause losing hurts us all the same CHORUS: I cried all the way to work Cause I felt the hurt Of losing you all over again It happens when I least expect it Sometimes it goes undetected But it’s the same old pain We can’t prepare ourselves for it We rarely know the time It hurts the most when we don’t get The chance to say goodbye One minute you were here with me The next moment you were gone Though I know I must let go My heart just won’t move on BRIDGE: I watched the old man in my mirror As he picked his companion up Wrapped him gently in his coat And he held that broken body close As I'm sure the good Lord did for you The day he called you home CHORUS: I cried all the way to work Cause I felt the hurt Of losing you all over again It happens when I least expect it Sometimes it goes undetected But it’s the same old pain
Yeah, it’s the same old pain

OLD HONKY-TONK INJURIES by Marcia McCaslin c. 2005 v1 Joe's got a shoulder that hasn't worked right Not in the years since his one barroom fight It was over a woman—he's forgotten her name But the shoulder still hurts him whenever it rains
Pre-Chorus The dancing and drinking, they all took their toll Sometimes the passion got out of control We broke a few rules but we seldom got caught We were fearless night flyers and nobody thought About
Chorus Old Honky-Tonk Injuries Complete with the bittersweet memories Whatever you do, don't touch me there please It's the place of There's still a trace of Some Old Honky-Tonk Injuries
v2 Now when we meet at the Pine Cone Cafe Over afternoon coffee we break up the day Someone might mention the good times we had The aches and the pains just hang on, but we laugh
Pre-Chorus The broken hearts managed to mend through the years Some kind of peace has come out of the tears We've slowed down a little—can't quite walk the walk But you'd better believe we can still talk the talk About
Chorus Repeats
Bridge The right hook that Joe used to knock the man down Means Joe does a lot of things left-handed now Sometimes a hitch in my get-a-long Reminds me of a wild western swing-a-thon And one of those
Chorus Repeats

New Eyes by Chris Dingman © 2006
I spent half a lifetime learning how to please. It’s hard to stand up after so long on your knees. And I feel a little foolish about the things I couldn’t see. But the tenderness I felt for her I’ll take with me.
Chorus 1: Cuz I’m coming home. I thought I found the answer when she smiled at me. But now the answers they don’t come so easily. And if you want me I’ll be stumblin’ down the road.
She was the mountain That I pushed my boulder up. And I was a beggar with a hole right through my cup.
Chorus 2: But I’m coming home. I’m making my mistakes out there for all to see. But for every two steps back, I’m going forward three. And if you want me I’ll be walkin’ down the road.
I used to look for someone Who would reel me in. Now I look in the mirror and I’m staring right at him. New Hampshire, California, they’re both windswept desert plains. If you don’t have new eyes the landscape stays the same.
Chorus 3: Oh I’m coming home. I can only see a little ways in front of me. And if I die out here, I don’t care where you bury me. Cuz by that time I’ll be flying down the road.

Clothesline by Roberta Chevrette (c) 2006
I didn’t ask to be your clothesline So don’t hang those things on me I didn’t ask to be your lifeline So I could carry you from sea to sea I didn’t ask to be your pillow So I could hold your head up high I didn’t ask to be your wings So I could teach you to fly
I didn’t ask to be your brand new shoes So I would have to break you in I didn’t say I could relieve you Of the mess that you’re in I didn’t ask to be your table So you could put your problems on my back So if I gave you that impression Then baby I’m taking it back
Cuz I need someone to carry me Sometimes too We all need to be carried Sometimes
I didn’t ask to be your songbook So I could teach you all the words And I don’t want to be your medicine To take away the hurt I don’t want to be your teacher Even if this is your favorite class And I don’t want to be the water That fills up half your glass
I just wanted to be With you
But I don’t think I can be your painting The only color in the room And I don’t think I can be your savior Even if you want me too I don’t think I am the vehicle That can take you far away But I wanted you to come I wanted you to stay
I just wanted to be your guitar So you could play with me I just wanted to be your guitar So I could set you free But I need someone to carry me Sometimes too We all need to be carried Sometimes

My blue kitchen by Michelle Einarsson Copyright: 2005 06 01
My blue kitchen
When life gives you nothing kiss someone If it´s still dull try chase the moon When nothing is left to achieve and nothing is more to be seen You come to me in my blue kitchen, finding a place where you´ve never been.
Maybe it was just that simple To rest one´s soul in someone´s eyes Now you sit down at my worn table And before you give your last sigh You realize you were not able To share or give and now it´s time to die
Words unspoken soothe no more The only possible reach is that of touch Lose your promises let go See them fade into the morning light You´re here you´re there you´ll always be Walking alone and left behind
You show no regrets no visible sorrow Grasp the moment there will be no tomorrow Some learn from life and some don´t It makes no difference we all must go So line up and get your ticket And perform your last show

Always in My Heart Sylvia Griffith c. 2005
Frost on the honeysuckle, ice in the birdbath Leaves turning red and gold and brown There’s a chill in the mid-day air, trees are looking mighty bare Won’t be long ‘til snow is on the ground As the seasons change I’m thinking of you Though you’ve been gone so long the memories seem brand new I never have loved anyone the way that I loved you And in wintertime I miss you most of all Except for springtime, summer, and the fall
I see your face so fair in my dreams, you’re often there Chiding or guiding me along You taught me love of life, strength and faith in times of strife And you loved me back your whole life long I am who I’ve become because I learned from you I’m strong and I’m caring, my word is always true You’re with me every single day in all I say and do I can’t help but miss you now that we’re apart And though you’ve gone on you’re always in my heart
Yes, I’m who I’ve become because, in part, I’m you I’m strong and I’m caring, my word is always true You’re with me every single day in all I say and do I can’t help but miss you now that we’re apart And though you’ve gone on you’re always in my heart

Anita's Cookie Jar Emily Sanders,Sheltering Wind Music, ASCAP © 2006
She loved her yellow cookie jar And kept it on a shelf The woman who gave to everyone Kept so little for herself Antique glass with flower designs Daffodil and daisy blooms Brightened many mornings That spoke of grey and gloom
Chorus: Like poetry unspoken And night's imprint of a star A dream that can't be broken Like Anita's cookie jar I hold that history in my heart Her spirit’s never far The magic and the mystery Of Anita's cookie jar
One day the jar was broken Pieces fell against the door Designs of blooming daisies Lay shattered on the floor We saved the tiny pieces Made them into picture frames Each told a timeless story That spoke gently of her name
Chorus: Like poetry unspoken And night's imprint of a star A dream that can't be broken Like Anita's cookie jar I hold that history in my heart Her spirit’s never far The magic and the mystery Of Anita's cookie jar
Bridge: Heirlooms frame our stories That live deep within our hearts They tell us where we came from And will never break apart
Chorus: Like poetry unspoken And night's imprint of a star A dream that can't be broken Like Anita's cookie jar I hold that history on my heart Her spirit’s never far The magic and the mystery Of Anita's cookie jar
Now I see the pieces From Anita's cookie jar I don't see broken dreams 'Cause her imprint's on a star Daffodils and daisy blooms will forever be new and whole On the same shelf holding memories Framing imprints of her soul
Chorus: Like poetry unspoken And night's imprint of a star A dream that can't be broken Like Anita's cookie jar I hold that history in my heart Her sprit’s never far The magic and the mystery Of Anita's cookie jar

THE OTHER SIDE OF NIGHT Michael Ryther c. 2006
like with all the others I didn’t even let you switch the light a beautiful distraction to lighten up my shadow of a life
I knew you’d turn me on but how did we both come to find the other side of night
I tell you that your color has changed my life forever and you smile the sun breaks through the window and shimmers in your eyes, I feel alive
I knew you’d turn me on but how did we both come to find the other side of night
daylight comes and you’re still here and now I marvel at my tears how has life brought me you and how have you made me feel new? how have we arrived
on the other side of night

Under the Sun (The Flea Market Song) Michael R. J. Roth and Harri Wolf (C)1982, 2005
Will you buy a winter coat at a bargain? Can you beat the price on this Navajo rug? The heat is on; this is the only one like it under the sun. And if you don't like it, two for the price of one. If you don't like it, I'll sell you two for the price of one.
Anything you need, I'll sell it or buy it. Others ask too much, and most of it's junk. I know the good from the bad; I've handled everything under the sun. And if you don't like it, two for the price of one. If you don't like it, I'll sell you two for the price of one.
Under the table, I've got a very hot item-- a cowboy hat, I'll even throw in a gun. You ought to watch the heat, you can go crazy under the sun. And if you don't like it, two for the price of one. If you don't like it, I'll sell you two for the price of one.
Here's a bayonet, it's genuine Army. They sent it home to me with the rest of my son. Here's a shot they took of him where he's grinning under the sun. And if you don't like it, two for the price of one. If you don't like it, I'll sell you two for the price of one.
So will you buy a winter coat at a bargain? Can you beat the price on this Navajo rug? It might be gone, but I'll be here tomorrow under the sun. And if you don't like it, two for the price of one. If you don't like it, I'll sell you two for the price of one.

IN THE GREAT DESERT OF BRAZIL Hoagie Hill, Seamonster Sounds c. 1995
Let's not worry 'bout the climate and such depressing topics; Think how refreshing it must be right now in the tropics. Darling, let's pack our bags and be off this old treadmill...
No doomsday talk there, No future shock there, in the Great Desert of Brazil.
We'll buy a lot dirt-cheap and build a house brand-new; Soon enough the sea will rise, we'll have an ocean view. We'll buy ourselves a Jeep, trade in the Cadillac Seville...
At first it may seem a bit austere, but ya gotta love that atmosphere, in the Great Desert of Brazil.
How romantic it will be to stroll along the Amazon; Never mind that it's dried up and all the flowers gone. We'll just put in some Rainbirds for the lawn, yes we will...
We'll really have it made, the only thing we won't have is shade, but still... We'd rather broil than freeze, and if we ever get homesick we'll put in a few plastic trees... in the Great Desert of Brazil.

Hello company Ron O’Toole c. 1995
Laughter serves as tool Sorrow takes the ruse Wisdom enhances pity Ignorance the critic
Honesty is a lesson Imagination stems from dust Knowledge, collected experience Desire becomes a passion
Ambition conquers time Blindness mocks the truth Envy is the breath of hate Guilt your punishment
Anger, momentary madness Hunger has no law Power the road to greed Misery loves it’s company
Hello company
Truth is a hard road to follow Dream and you can only win Wise to conceive your own road Desire starts you over again
Hello company

I’ve Got No Time for This By Paul Rodger Clark © 2006
It was there to see in the cloud that crossed your eyes. I can say I’m disappointed but I can’t say I’m surprised. I can’t count on hope but I can hope to have some fun. Now I can always count on you to do exactly what you’ve done.
You never had to tell me but I always had to tell. and you claimed the good intentions of that golden road to Hell. That overloaded mind will make a soul that never sleeps and there’s a reason for a bargain that makes a bargain cheap.
Chorus: I’ve been kissed. I’ve been dis-ed, and now I’m good and pissed. I’ve got no time to waste on wasting time and I’ve got no time for this.
Honey you tell lies so easily, but you don’t tell them well. Now the bullshit’s sticking to my shoes and it was tough to take the smell. It went from complicated to absolutely fornicated in a cluster, in a mess, tough to chew and to digest.
You can't mean to hurt, when you can't think that far ahead. and that something that you told me turned out something else instead. The finger pointing at me is now pointing back at you. I wish you all the luck, you’re gonna need it being you.
I’ve been kissed. I’ve been dis-ed, and now I’m good and pissed. I’ve got no time to waste on wasting time and I’ve got no time for this.
I had a lot of hopes but all those hopes are now in ruins, from your comings and your goings and your sayings and your doin’s I couldn’t care less if you love me and that you love the love we make. I don’t feel like repeating what was clearly a mistake.
I’d rather go to someplace where I’ve got a chance to win. and I won’t be back ‘cause I don’t like going back to where I’ve been. When you try it just gets trying. When it’s trying you ask why you don’t return the [naughty word removed] you’re buying, close the door and say good bye?
I’ve been kissed. I’ve been dis-ed, and now I’m good and pissed. I’ve got no time to waste on wasting time and I’ve got no time for this.

Lulu’s Lament Zak Morgan, Zak Morgan Music c. 2006
My name is Lulu, I’m from Argentina. I am a horse and a fine ballerina. But horses will laugh and cowboys will boot you If you prance up on point and you wear a pink tutu.
When I pirouette or I do a plie, They tell me to go stick my head in the hay. Saddled with sadness, I wish I could be Some kind of creature that no one could see.
CHORUS Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Maybe it ain’t so bad bein’ you.
Sometimes I wish God had made me a mole So I could dig out a tunnel and hide in a hole. But moles don’t have eyeballs and some get fileted On the end of a shovel or the edge of a spade.
Or a fly on the wall using garbage for fuel. I’d buzz all around and perch on the stool... But I’d have a maggot if I had a daughter And I could be flattened by someone’s fly swatter.
CHORUS Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Maybe it ain’t so bad bein’ you.
If I was a cow it would really be nice Chewing your cud means you eat dessert twice! But something I thought of made me change my mind; A trip to the deli is really a grind.
I’m glad that I took time to think this thing through – I don’t want to trade in my horse’s tutu. Now when I look in the mirror I can see That I am unique and I’m lucky I’m me.
CHORUS Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Maybe it ain’t so bad bein’ you. Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu In spite of the bits and the spurs and the dog food and glue.

Mistakes Like Me Melody Guy & Tom Kimmel, LGM Music (ASCAP), Morrissette Music © 2004
I can feel colors And make things with my hands I can hear music When no one else can
And I could tell stories You would not believe If only somebody Could listen to me
chorus So what are my chances of turning out right? And what kind of man will I be? If I’ll never fit in this world as I am What do they do with mistakes like me?
They say I’m crazy They say I’m slow I hear their whispers Wherever I go
I know I’m not like Anybody they’ve seen So they call me special That’s not what they mean
chorus And what are my chances of turning out right? What kind of man will I be? If I’ll never fit in this world as I am What do they do with mistakes like me?
bridge So maybe I’m different Maybe I’m strange What does it matter If that’s just how I came?
And who should decide Who gets by on this earth? Who gets to measure What somebody’s worth?
(solo)
chorus What are my chances of turning out right? And what kind of man will I be? If I’ll never fit in this world as I am What do they do with mistakes like me?
If I’ll never fit in this world as I am What do they do with mistakes like me?

I'm Gonna Be OK by Janell Rock I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna Be alright. I'm gonna live, though I'll cry tonight And I ain't gonna die.
Was it when I was sleeping in bed That this beast reared it's ugly head Even though this is a blow This is what I've got to do instead
Gotta grab that rope and pull myself up. Gotta tell myself some positive stuff.
I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna be alright. I'm gonna live though I'll cry tonight And I ain't gonna die.
The fear that I'm feeling right now I've got to deal with it somehow Freinds are here, family's near Shining hope through this threatening cloud
When there is nothing more I can do, I just tell myself what I'm telling you.
I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna Be alright. I'm gonna live though I'll cry tonight And I ain't gonna die.
I am imagining this bright light, Is healing me setting things right. I am imagining that I'm well.
I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna be alright. I'm gonna live! I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna be alright. I'm gonna live! I'm Gonna Be OK. It's gonna be alright. I'm gonna live!

THIS KIND OF LOVE NEVER ENDS by Tammy Edwards 2001
He turns the handle Opens the door Sets his guitar inside Flips on the light Takes a deep breath Tosses his coat aside
She was always waiting there Pretty blues eyes and golden hair Then he remembers her smile And thought she's gone for good He lingers awhile...
And he whispers her name again A cry from his heart To his love and his friend Oh, why did she have to go? But he'll always know This kind of love never ends
He see's her picture framed on the wall Wiping the tears from his eyes Recalling the day He asked her out The day she became his wife
The hopes and dreams And moonlit walks Her sweet caress Their midnight talks Then he remembers her smile And though she's gone for good He lingers awhile...
And he whispers her name again A cry from his heart To his love and his friend Oh, why did she have to go? But he'll always know This kind of love never ends
Now he see's her in their babies eyes Find's the strength to survive And in their hearts she'll live on On and on....
And he whispers her name again A cry from his heart To his love and his friend Oh, why did she have to go? But he'll always know This kind of love never ends

Simple Stupid Clear Cindy Alexander (JamCat Publishing/BMI) Copyright 2006
Simple Stupid Clear Take me back 15 Years
Momma you told me I shouldn't say anything if I can't say something nice about somebody Somewhere I'll keep it locked up inside me Yes I am feeling uncomfortably heavy tonight
The world's black and blue and I wish I could do something more than just sit here and make it 'bout me How do I explain the messes we made There is no pearl in my wisdom
Simple Stupid Clear Take me back 20 years
Best you should know that your girlfriend is cheating and Benny he swallowed his life down in Kettle One day you might wake up Find there's no air left I can't breathe The valley's about to ignite
The world's black and blue and I wish I could do something more than just sit here and lay it on you The more that I know I wish I could go back and hold on to time that I wasted
Simple Stupid Clear Take me back 30 years
Sing me a song That's not about love Not about pain Not about drugs Sing me a song That is all about WHY I think I need more than your patronizing
Simple Stupid Clear Take me back a billion years Would you if you could? Simple Stupid Clear and Understood

Days Of Our Lives Jody Whitesides (Too Much Music/SESAC) © 2006
A glass of leftover wine alone on the table A random pile of shoes beside the couch A game we use to unwind the cat and the mouse That’s how we play on Sunday’s around the house
All of the places we are together in The way that we smile defines the roles we explore in The days of our lives go roaring by It’s the emotions that we share for The goals that we use to refine the love that we long for The days of our lives go roaring by
There are those moments a smile says it all A drop of the hat we’re out the door and chasing the sun We excite ourselves pretending to be fugitives on the run Doesn’t matter about the destination if the journey is fun
All of the cars that we go drive in The jobs that we work for define the roles that we play in The days of our lives go roaring by All of the movies that we watch and we cry for The books that we read define the hearts that we care for The days of our lives go roaring by
I know I’m in deep / She steal’s my clothes to wear Thinks I don’t know / But that’s her I smell on my shirt It’s her I should keep / She kisses with so much care Thinks I don’t know / But that’s her always on my mind
All of the music that we blast and get lost in The way that we laugh defines the roles of our friendship The days of our lives go roaring by All of the memories that we live for The methods we use refine the dreams that we strive for The days of our lives go roaring by

IN MY WORLD by Bev Albert c. 2005
In my world It's a sunny day, 80 degrees Butterflies float in the summer breeze Kids outdoors are playing on swings They're being good
In my world There's apple pie and ice-cream Mothers kiss little injured knees No one lives in poverty And no one should
No rainy days, no big bad wolves No angry folks, no not at all There's people laughing, having fun And love enough for everyone Hmmm.
[solo]
No rainy days, no big bad wolves No angry folks, no not at all There's people laughing, having fun And love enough for everyone
In my world Young ladies' dreams do come true When they meet young men, and say "I do" They explore new lives and new avenues Ain't love grand?
No rainy days, no big bad wolves No angry folks, no not at all There's people laughing, having fun And love enough for everyone In my world
No one's fighting No one's hiding No one's lying No one's crying In my world
In my world You know a dream can last forever There's no such word as never Love is not a hopeless endeavor In my world - in my world.

"Breathing Underwater" by Ali Handal, Alivibe (ASCAP) © 2002
I found you on your island warm and dry you never waded in over waist high but my home is far from shore and the current runs strong and I cannot stay in shallow water for long
I’m breathing underwater I’m not fighting for air I may drown in the deep but I don’t care cuz I love you and you love me but I cannot make you swim with me
My skin is glistening listening to you lie beside me on terra firma explaining why for a few precious moments I felt alive and I don’t know how but I know I’ll survive
I’m breathing underwater I’m not fighting for air I may drown in the deep but I don’t care cuz I love you and you love me but I cannot make you swim with me I'm swimming in the deep
and I know it’s safer in the water you tread but I’d rather dive in... in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head breathing underwater

ONLY A WOMAN KNOWS by Valerie DeLaCruz and Irene Kelley
Five in the morning And her water just broke She’s scared and she starts to cry Her husband says, “Honey, You don’t have to worry ‘Cause I’m right here by your side” Well, she loves him for trying But there’s just some things he can’t understand So she calls up her sister Who has comfort to give her ‘Cause with something as deep as this goes Only a woman knows
That baby’s all grown now She’s moved to another town Making her way on her own But here she is calling At two in the morning Small lost voice on the phone Daddy says, “Honey, what’s the matter?” But she asks for her mama instead So mama drives ‘til the dawn breaks To soothe her girl’s heartache It’s so painful when innocence goes Only a woman knows
Bridge: A mother, a lover a friend From her first breath ‘til the very end
Now mama’s a soldier Her daughter consoles her Together they’re fighting this war Love and chemo their weapons A curse and a blessing Hair falls like leaves to the floor Doctors nurses and neighbors And her husband stand by in the hall As time turns the daughter To the role of the mother For something as deep as this goes Only a woman knows
