AIN'T CHASING A BUICK Jeb Barry ASCAP
jimmy rogers on a fading rural radio station from somewhere out past the fields her Dad was haying broken mileage counter in a car that drives like a ghost taillights of her buick through a cracked windshield drought stained two wheels on a soft shoulder half lost in a heat lightening storm gravel clouds of dust descending in her wake the summer’s drowning in the fiction of a paperback romance for some odd reason she just couldn’t wait
ran out of money and gas, just beside Nashville she left with a long hauler heading north I ain’t going to new york city, I’m heading home God damn she’s on, her own
Georgia state trooper half asleep in a clay dust dented ford Said I can’t hitch this road mile markers counting memories A bible and two pistols, a cheating wind that always whistles I ain’t even sure the direction I’m heading but I think it’s east eleven years of hurt leaves a girl less than vacant Sunday morning reason seekers never found any truth to call Walking past I can hear the choir singing her praise Nobody listens to a song that says it’s all your fault
ran out of luck in a cloudburst by Cleveland she sent me a postcard saying “**** you sweetheart” I ain’t going to new york city, I’m heading home God damn, she’s gone

Younger By Moonlight Lyrics Charles Ronald Wyvill Melody/Music: Kaley Willow ©2006 Verse 1
The larger the town, the lonelier the place. Criss-crossing roads, match the lines on my face. People move slowly, like tears down a cheek. Searching in vain, for the love that they seek. I was like them, I think you were too. Under a sky coloured darkest blue. Feeling so cold, as the night closes in. Longing for warmth of a lover's skin.
Chorus 1
I look younger by moonlight than I do in the sun. My face tells a story, how my life has run. Emotions within me have faded to grey. My heart feels a torment, my smile betrays.
Verse 2
But just when I thought that my future had passed. And all of my chances had burned down to ash. The vision of you gently cradled my eyes. You caused a fire in my soul to arise. One night you looked lonely and I felt the same. You gathered the courage to ask me my name. We danced to the music of love in our heads. A tide rose within me and that when I said.
Chorus 2
I look younger by moonlight than I do in the sun. My face tells a story, how my life has run. All of my life I've been waiting for you. My heart feels the warmth of a love overdue.
Bridge
A tree stands alone on a dark winter's night. Listening for whispers of spring.
Chorus 3
We look younger by moonlight than we do in the sun. Our faces age slowly, as the day is begun. What lies in the future, the eye can not see. But the love that we hold, paints a new destiny.

The Technology Blues (copyright 1995 Joe Meyer ASCAP)
Chorus This world can be an empty place (don’t you know) So hard to find a friendly face, sometimes Fearful eyes cross my path, seems everyday There’s got to be a better way
Verse People build some awesome houses But then they can’t live with their spouses They send a man to outer space But can’t learn to love another race Computers run in record time But we can’t put a curb on crime And knowledge hits an all-time high Yet who will stop to wonder why…
Chorus This world can be an empty place (don’t you know) So hard to find a friendly face, sometimes Fearful eyes cross my path, seems everyday There’s got to be a better way
Instrumental
Verse Doctors have their CT scanners But kids aren’t learning common manners Nuclear plants are built in haste When there’s still nowhere to put the waste Growing lawns without a weed But they cannot see the harm in greed And living just to sell or buy Who will stop to wonder why…
Chorus This world can be an empty place (don’t you know) So hard to find a friendly face, sometimes Fearful eyes cross my path, seems everyday There’s got to be a better way
I know there is a better way

COME ALONG, BETH © 2006 by Dean Brantley Taylor
VERSE 1 We’ll climb mountains and swim the seven seas Dance in treetops and float on the breeze We’ll run like wolves, sleep like bear Cuddle like kittens and make love like hare And everything you do, every time, I’ll care
We’ll frolic and jump with the otter and frog Then rest with the turtles in the sun on a log We’ll stretch like cats, fly like eagle Parade like peacock and trot like a beagle
PRECHORUS 1 With heads outstretched and tails held high A little more bounce and we’ll touch the sky Just a little more bounce and we’ll touch the sky
CHORUS So, come along with me on life’s long ride Come along with me, side-by-side Come along, come along, come along, Beth Come along with me until our death And still, after death, our spirits will be one So, please, please, please come along Please, please, please come along
VERSE 2 We’ll launch missiles and surf the Milky Way Ride on comets and ski off the tail We’ll swim like seal, act walrus Lying on the beach and showing off tusk And anything you say, anytime, I’ll trust
We’ll squirm and bump with the hogs at a trough Siesta full-bellied hangin'-two with a sloth We’ll screech like owl, buzz like bees Then nap with the doves, way up high in a tree
PRECHORUS 2 Feathers laid soft, head on a breast Just a few more winks and we’ll feel our best When we sleep together’s when we’ll feel our best
CHORUS So, come along with me on life’s long ride Come along with me, side-by-side Come along, come along, come along, Beth Come along with me until our death And still, after death, our spirits will be one So, please, please, please come along Please, please, please come along
BRIDGE The things we’ll do, the things we’ll do The things we’ll do, together me and you The stuff we’ll see, the stuff we’ll see The stuff we’ll see, forever you and me Now, I’ll do harm, and I’ll do wrong, but I’ll keep comin’, so please come along
CHORUS Come along with me on life’s long ride Come along with me, side-by-side Come along, come along, come along, Beth Come along with me until our death And still, after death, our spirits will be one So, please, please, please come along Please, please, please come along

IT'S THE BEAT IN YOUR HEART lyrics/music by: Donna Lynn Rector copyright 2004 D RECTOR RECORDS AND PUBLISHING(BMI)
IT'S THE BEAT IN YOUR HEART
Ever kept it inside Till you thought you would burst? Ever hoped for the best but, prepared for the worst? It's a feeling so strong-- You can't deny it, but so long.
Have you said your prayers To God above, Already knowing the answer 'Cause it fits like a glove? It's a feeling so strong You can't deny it, but so long.
It's the beat in your heart, It's the heat of your breath, It's the secret you'll take With you to your death. It's the love that was lost, The life that was lived, The feeling that you have So much more to give.
Have you dotted your "i"s And crossed all your "t"s, When you're by yourself Do you drop to your knees? Is there something out there You still think you need?
It's the beat in your heart, It's the heat of your breath' It's the secret you'll take With you to your death. It's the love that was lost, The life that was lived, The feeling that you have So much more to give!
Have you covered your bases and walked a straight line? Are you tapping your feet in perfect time? Will you go to Forever-- with these thoughts in mind?
It's the beat in your heart, It's the heat of your breath, It's the secret you'll take With you to your death. It's the love that was lost, The life that was lived, The feeling that you have So much more to give.
It's the rhythm of life... It's the beat in your heart... It's the heat of your breath... They were there from the start.

Billy’s Train Becky Wright Songs COPYRIGHT 2006
Vs. 1: Billy loved to sit beneath the bridge, waitin’ for the train by the blue ridge He’d never been on it, but he loved to hear it’s whistle blowin’. Then momma called him home, ‘cause daddy was ill; Daddy handed him his bible, said “it’s yours now, Bill; Keep it close to your heart…. Say good-bye now, ‘cause daddy’s goin.”
Vs. 2: While he read the book, the words became so real, yet he couldn’t escape the pain he’d feel Sometimes he dreamed of jumpin’ that train, and just ridin’ away. Then the ground would tremble, and he’d close his eyes, felt like footsteps of angels in the skies And as the whistle grew louder, he hear his daddy say:
Refrain: Billy, there’s a time your train will come On a chilly night, it will take you home That long train whistle will blow, and everybody will know. Billy, don’t cry; no more need for tears You can leave ‘em behind with these heartache years ‘Cause there’s no pain on this train where you’re goin’.
Vs. 3: In ’42, Billy got to ride the train, ‘cause you can’t stay when your country calls your name Left behind his momma and his sweet Daisy Mae. Lyin’ in the trenches, Billy knew he was dead, but the bible in his pocket took the bullet instead, Surrounded by angels, this just wasn’t to be his day.
[REFRAIN]
Vs. 4: Billy got tired at 87, in a hospital bed with one foot in heaven Like a choir of angels, he could hear that whistle blowin’. With sweet Daisy Mae gone for twenty years, Billy’d known more than his share of tears In the words of his daddy, he heard, “Son, it’s time to go.”
[REFRAIN]
Coda: It’s the ride of your life, it’s a heavenly train It’s the passage of death, but don’t be afraid ‘Cause you know where this train’s goin’…

This secret is tearin me apart I tried but.. tellin you Im feelin you is hard And When I catch you on the walk by Everytime we caught eyes those around us speak I guess we are both shy but I keep my hopes high and my feet from off the street This hovering is key Miss its because of you I float by I dream our paths cross intertwine sidewind and lead us into grace I see your face on the wakeup Taste the sweetness of you morining essence Ma your makeup is everything this universe posseses They say love only comes once if its true, I say its false, and that gives me something to prove now lets walk and my queen let talk Because its somethin you got that got me picking flower petals like "she love me or not?" See your my virtual reality and in your world is where I'd rather be Your a fortified ten Yes its all carmalized I realized when Your Karma had me open wideYour divine scent your clam and your royal Ma I love the time spent Your palms are so warm I just want to hold your hand....Damn! And wonder in your wonderland And if Im not I'll try hard to become the man you ever wanted Ever dreamed ever hoped for I never thought this Infatuation would take me so far

Heroes in Boxes
Lyrics©May,2006, Albert C. Hamilton
VS.1
Took my nephew to the toy store A stand-by for my brother He came back from one tour in Iraq but he was sent to do another His son got a gift card for his birthday Went to the action figure aisle Grabbed a GI Joe & was good to go and I couldn't help but smile
CH.
We still bring heroes home in boxes Dreams wrapped in cellophane A son's perception of his father Complete with fighter plane
Vs.2
My Bro' and I grew up When Joe was still the craze He was really hip with Kung-Fu grip Man, those were the days They say he doesn't sell as well to kids my nephew's age But I guess to sons of sons of soldiers That 'Camo' box is still the rage
CH.2
We still bring heroes home in boxes Complete with bonus plane A son's perception of his father Wrapped in cellophane
Bridge:
Took my nephew to the base one day His dad was coming back You might've seen him land on C-SPAN on a plane bound from Iraq
CH.3
We still bring heroes home in boxes We watched them take him from the plane His son waiting there to meet him with flowers wrapped in cellophane
Tag:
We still bring heroes home in boxes Draped in flags, that bear the names of the sons of soldiers waiting with flowers wrapped in cellophane

Gather The Days © 2006 Brent Heckerman They tore down the houses on Charlotte Street And knocked down the walls where our love used to beat Where we kicked off the covers and took off our clothes There's a park in the city where the little kids go Some children are laughing some playing ball Where we tended a garden from the Spring to the Fall Here in the kitchen where we used to make tea Somebody's reading under a willow tree Gather the roses, gather the days When the sun shines down, gather the rays If love is the only book we wrote Let's write it once more note for note In these places we linger we laugh and we cry Our children make music, they'll soon be flying We have but a moment, then it's gone You and me, baby, we have this sweet, sad song Gather the roses, gather the days When the sun shines down, gather the days If love is the only book we wrote Let's write it once more note for note The moon's coming up, our children are grown Come with me darling let's walk on down To the park in the city, to the old home place Where we used to make love, where we used to say grace Gather the roses, gather the days When the moon shines down, gather the rays If love is the only book we write Let's write it again each and every night

He Sees With Better Eyes ©2006 Anita Stokes
V1 I love to make him laugh out loud I love to see him cry To trust me so implicitly Only makes me love him more
He likes to hold my hand in his The way he holds my heart And when he looks at me It's not my face he sees But who I really am
CH And when he looks at me He sees with better eyes The beauty that's inside my soul That some could never find
V2 He shares his vision for our lives As we walk along the shore The rain falls gently from the sky Then leaves us wanting more
He shows the wind and waves to me The sand beneath our feet He paints the picture perfectly As though I've never seen before
CH But when he looks at me He sees with better eyes The beauty that's inside my soul That most would never find
Though he must use his hands To know my face within his mind He showed me how to live again And that love is never blind
V3 If you would take her hand And love her for all time Then you must close your eyes to see The beauty that's within
And as you find the truth of her That's guarded well and buried deep You will know a love That goes so far beyond What others ever see
CH For when he looks at me He sees with better eyes The beauty that's inside my soul That most would never find
Though he must use his hands To know my face within his mind He showed me how to live again And that love is never blind

"Shame" by Tori Sparks © 2005 From the album "Rivers + Roads"
Let the rain fall From the sky’s open sores And put out our fires Just put out our fires
Our skin pulls back To show our grinning skulls The sun is a cigarette burn In yesterday’s sky
They say shame Shame on you He says shame Shame on me
We left them knocking We left them knocking We left them knocking At our door
We crawl at the feet Of skyscrapers and kings We tear at each other As they crash on our heads
No one can touch us Well that’s what our fathers said Our bloody knees Match our purses and heels
They say shame Shame on you He says shame Shame on me
We left them knocking We left them knocking We left them knocking At our door
They say shame Shame on you He says shame Shame on me
We left them knocking We left them knocking We left them knocking At our door
We sent a thousand ghosts home today So what’s one more We left them knocking At our door

ON THE HILLS OF WHITESVILLE Words and Music by Donna Dutchess Copyright 2006
On the Hills of Whitesville Dusty roads and pick up trucks Singing by the fire till the sun comes up Telling tales of hunting that will never grow old Les is frying bacon on the old wood stove Nothing ever changes On the Hills of Whitesville
Bridge: And when I’m gone my heart is lonely For the good times and the memories Where my friends and my family Enjoy each other’s company And when I’m gone my heart is lonely For the peaceful things that I need That I only find on those hills Where my heart will always be. (2nd Verse) (last time) Please send all my love to Whitesville Where my heart will always be.
On the Hills of Whitesville Beer cans and coffeepots The laughing never ceases and the jokes never stop Babies growing up to the smell of beer Papa may be gone but his spirits always near Nothing ever changes On the Hills of Whitesville.
Tag: Time stands still there, The Mullen’s farm is still there Dirt roads running through the one horse town. The red house is still there It stood against the test of time. (Bridge)

THE VOICE MY HEART KNOWS c 1/95 Wds & Music by: "Harmony" ynez fernandez-reyes 1. You are my deepest fantasy, Are we still dreaming? I felt in my heart for you... And found you waiting, Always here, for me... When I need you.
2. You lift me up, Though I would fall. You give the love, I always hoped for. Your eyes so deep, And full of mystery... Know all my secrets.
Release I: Your eyes, so warm and true, Reveal, what I must do... To know the Truth, Of how we came to be... Of who we are... And what our lives really mean. Your friendship is the Temple I return to...To... Feel whole again.
3. When I feel, I can't go on, And I now, not how to try... I look for inspiration, But can't find it. When I sleep the days away, 'Cuz there's no more games to play Only brokenhearted leathary To fill my days...
Release II: That's when again I listen... To the Voice my heart knows... I hear you calling... Through all illusion and Believing, dreams Really do come true... I follow barefoot, Though a tempest storm, To find a friend As true as you, my dear.
Release III: (optional) I must escape, at last, The cruel fools, that have, No heart for me, Just jealousy...they try So hard to take me down. But I have a friend so real in you... My heart was mended and unbound.

TWO SIDES TO EVERY COIN
Snow fell like Southern cotton Big flakes fillin’ the sky I wondered if what she’d said Was really a goodbye And a man stood on the street Playing an old gold sax I listened close And, man, did it take me back To the days when I learned
There are Two sides to every coin What’s carved in stone on the outside Might be a lie on the inside Two sides to every coin What you see baby might not be what you get
Years ago, I met this young girl (guy) And tears of joy would flow Each time our eyes met We loved, we honored, we cherished We pledged our hearts Now I hear she’s (he’s) living near LA She got fed up one day and just went away That’s when I learned
There are Two sides to every coin What’s carved in stone on the outside Might be a knife in disguise Two sides to every coin What looks like blue skies might be a storm
So if you’ve found a paradise Hold on tight, try not to fight it Don’t expect too much from folks You might not give it back in return
So you learn there are Two sides to every coin What’s carved in stone on the outside Might be a lie in disguise Yes….Two sides to every coin What looks like blue skies, baby Might be a storm, might just be a storm Two sides to every coin Two sides to every coin

Jesse and Kate Copyright (c) 2006 By Douglas Murphy
(A) Jesse was a carpenter, a Finisher by trade. Many things that Katie loved were things that Jesse made. Little nick-knacks carved from wood, the box she kept them in. Reminders of a life that’s lost, that will never be again.
(A) Jesse spends his days now on computer solitaire. His beard and hair need tending, he doesn’t care. He’s closed the book that was his life, not caring how it ends. With Katie gone he’s lost it all lover, wife and friend.
(A) You see Jesse loved the bottle like his father before him. Jesse’s dad is dead now, drinking did him in. There were times Kate warned him, of what he had at stake. But he denied and was right that he share his father’s fate.
(A) It was raining and was snowing the night that changed their lives. Jesse had been drinking, but not his wife. And he was the perfect drunk didn’t argue and let her drive. If he hadn’t tried to seize the wheel she’d still be alive.
(B) He was sitting quietly, leaving her alone. She didn’t need distractions if they were to get home. But given his conditions, the many on coming lights. The truck he swears was on their side made his decision right.
(A) Jesse spends his days now on computer solitaire. Spends each day and nights alone, stuck in his wheel chair. He’s no longer drinking, he misses her his Kate. He’s no longer drinking, to bad it came too late.

Mad Sarah of San Jose Copyright 2002, 2005, 2006 by James B. Mitchell
V1: Haunted by ghosts of the victims of slaughter Crazed by the guns that your company made Grieving the death of your husband and daughter Rich as a queen, but a slave to your pain. Looking for some way to flee desperation Consulting a psychic to find a way out; You took to your heart her dark message of danger Headed out West where you started your house.
V2: Thinking the hammers were linked to your heartbeat Fearing their silence would signal your end You poured all your riches into a vast mansion The work on the Winchester House had begun 38 years rang the blows of the hammer 24 hours a day without rest Building your house with a reckless abandon Jumbled-up rooms, an unholy mess
Chorus: Mad Sarah of San Jose Your body is gone but your spirit's still here Running alone through the rooms of your mansion Relentlessy, endlessly chased by your fear.
V3: Sleeping each night in a different bedroom Firing each servant who glanced at your face Fearing a photo would capture your spirit What was the image you tried to erase? Beautiful grounds in expanses of garden Glorious light in the gallery rooms But deep in the night you would slip through the hallways Spying on staff from your corners of gloom.
V4: Unlucky 13 you chose as your number And, as you slumbered, it watched over you; 13 small steps in the stairways to reach you, 13 small windows with 13 small jewels. 13 on 13 in ev’ry last detail The sum at times even, the look always odd What did you hope was the power in the number? To hide you from demons? To hide you from God?
Chorus: Mad Sarah of San Jose Your body is gone but your spirit's still here Running alone through the rooms of your mansion Relentlessy, endlessly chased by your fear.
V5: You clung to the hope in the words of the psychic, As long as they're building, your life will not end. So, on with the mansion, and damn the expenses, This endless obsession your only true friend. The day finally came that will come to all mortals The staff became worried, the searching begun The 40th bedroom had held your cold body The news spreading quickly that Sarah was gone.
V6: Consulting the will, they did as instructed In all 13 sections, each signed 13 times Auctioned belongings and pensioned your staff off Donated money to save children’s lives. The house safe was opened with anticipation Wondering what treasures an heiress would hide But the treasure they found wasn’t golden or silver…. (pause)
…………Just a lock of black hair from your daughter that died.
Chorus: Mad Sarah of San Jose Your body is gone but your spirit's still here Running alone through the rooms of your mansion Relentlessy, endlessly chased by your fear.

Midnight Witch copyright Sonya Green 2006
Boil and bubble toil and trouble She was a witch who flew thru the night Drew back the sheets And made me feel right
She has a way of releasing my fears Waits til the morning when everything clears Nothing like thunder, a slight wisp of light Keeping me calm and holding me tight
She’s not what you think - she doesn’t wear black She doesn’t spell evil or own a black cat She rides from my history far back from here She promised me once she would always stay near.
A woman of wisdom and lady of heart Healing the fragile who feel pulled apart Spirit and substance, healing of hands Without an agenda without any plans
When bones get that lonely the night is so long She brings me her music and sings her sweet song. She doesn’t possess me but watches my soul She loves me and lights me and makes me feel whole
Boil and bubble toil and trouble She comes to me in the darkness of night Picking me up by calming me down Whenever Im lonely she comes around.
Boil and bubble toil and trouble She is the witch who flies through the night Boil and bubble toil and trouble She is the witch who makes it all light.

Drifting Along With the Wind
I like to live by the ocean. Down by the tropical sea. Breeze sets the palm trees in motion. Easy to mystify me. Feeling the sun on my shoulders. Wiping the spray from my face. How can I mind growing older, long as I'm winning the race.
Fly like a bird in the morning. Dream like a child afternoon. Evening slips up with no warning, leading the stars and the moon. I've got no reason to ramble. I'm content with sand in my shoes. I'm always willing to gamble. Long as I've nothing to lose.
Cho: I take a day at a time. Ignore what I don't comprehend. I guess you could say I'm drifting along with the wind.
Why in the world do we hurry? Restless we're rushing about. Never a reason to worry. Never a reason to doubt. Flying as high as a bubble, floating out over the bay. I'll never get in to trouble, long as I do what I say.
Cho: I take a day at a time. Ignore what I don't comprehend. I guess you could say I'm drifting along with the wind. (fades) Drifting along with the wind... drifting along with the wind. Words & music Darrell House copyright 1990

Don’t Give A Grizzly A Back Rub © 2006 James M. Quillen
Vs 1 That Montana sun was shinin’ mighty hot, My jeans was soaked, I was sweatin’ a lot. My bare back and arms they kept itchin’ From that hay in the truck I was pitchin’ When a bar room gal I danced with last night Drove up in a car, her low cut dress skin tight. Said, "Come here, farm boy, on the double." Then I heard dad warnin’ me of trouble:
Ch "Son, you don’t give a grizzly a back rub. She’ll rip your heart out, stomp it in the mud. You’re too young to know what love’s all about, You’re flirtin’ with danger, better watch out. Son, you don’t make a hornet’s nest a pillow, Don’t chase a mountain lion up a willow, Don’t take a bath with rattlers in the tub And you NEV...ER give a grizzly a back rub."
Vs 2 I’m glad I heeded dear ol’ dad’s advice, The girl I married she turned out real nice, But today our eldest we almost disowned When he brought that wild, topless dancer home. She wore tattoos ev’rywhere they could go, Short shorts and string top, not much didn’t show. I winced at his mom, she winced back at me, I took our lad aside, spoke real fatherly:
Ch
Vs 3 Our wayward lad wised up I’m proud to say, Dream girl caught his eye, stole his heart away. A rancher’s daughter, blonde, blue-eyed, and lean, She’s talkin’ marriage, he’s buyin’ a ring. And I can’t wait till grandsons come along To see what kinda gal those boys bring home. Out here pine cones don’t fall far from the tree. Bet their dad tells them what my dad told me:
Ch
(Tag) "Son, you don’t make a hornet’s nest a pillow, Don’t chase a mountain lion up a willow, Don’t take a bath with rattlers in the tub And you NEV...ER give a grizzly a back rub."

"Time Stops for No One" by Smokey Lonesome
Things that drive me insane worries that cause me more pain. Problems that can't be explained and of course, my past sins. Trying to catch up with me why won't they just let me be. This is why - time stops for no one.
Just trying to pay all the bills in a budget without any frills. Maybe life is testing my skills and of course, its all wrong. No one to blame can’t you see a lot of it falls onto me, an this is why - time stops for no one.
Time stops for no one time stops for nothing can’t hold on to time when it’s already gone. Time stops for no one time stops for nothing can’t hold on to time when it’s already gone.
Sitting back I consider my years like time I’ve lost too many tears. How can it go on from here, and how will it use me? Wanting more time than allowed still things to do I have vowed, Won’t beg, I'm way too proud time stops for no one.
Time stops for no one time stops for nothing can’t hold on to time when it’s already gone. Time stops for no one time stops for nothing can’t hold on to time when it’s already gone.

THE PLEDGE BY: DCTERRY CC: BMI 2002
I GREW UP IN THE HEARTLAND, BORN DURING THE BOOM A SON OF AN IMMIGRANT FARMER, WHO ESCAPED WORLD WAR TWO DAD SPOKE IN BROKEN ENGLISH, HEAVY WITH ACCENT BUT EVERYTIME HE'D RECITE THE PLEDGE, I UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE SAID EVERYTIME HE SAID THE PLEDGE , I UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE MEANT
DAD WORKED AS A LABORER, ROSE BEFORE THE DAWN CAME HOME LATE AT NIGHT, TO HIM WE ALL WOULD RUN NO MATTER HOW TIRED OR HUNGRY, MY DAD HAD BECOME WE'D BOW OUR HEADS IN THANKS, TO THE GOOD LORD ABOVE NO MATTER HOW HARD THE DAY, HE THANKED THE LORD ABOVE
GOD BLESS THE USA, MY PAPA WOULD SAY HOME OF THE FREE, LAND OF THE BRAVE
DADDY DIDNT SAY MUCH ABOUT THE WAR, EXCEPT IT WAS A SAD SAD THING SO MANY PEOPLE HAD TO DIE OF A, MAD MANS SCHEME HE DID SHARE HIS PHILOSOPHY, OR SHOULD I SAY HIS DREAM OF COMING TO AMERICA, TO ESCAPE FROM TYRANNY AND TO GIVE THANKS TO THE LAND, WHOS SONS HAD DIED FIGHTING
GOD BLESS THE USA
AS HE WALKED ON ELLIS ISLAND, HE TOOK HIS HAT OFF TO MISS LIBERTY STUDIED THE LAWS OF HER AND, AND HER GEOGRAPHY STRUGGLED TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE, AND HER HISTORY THE DAY WAS FAST APPROACHING, HE'D HAVE TO KNOW THESE THINGS WITH TEARS IN HIS EYES ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, THESE WORDS HE DID SPEAK
I PLEDGE ALLEGENCE TO THE FLAG, I CAN HEAR MY PAPA SAY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, HIS PRIDE WOULD BE SHOWING AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
EVERY MORNING MY DAD WOKE, HE WOULD HONOR THE FLAG NO PROUDER AMERICAN, EVER WALKED THIS LAND MY FATHER WAS A PATRIOT, UNTIL THE DAY HE DIED AND THE WORDS THAT HE SPOKE ON THE 4TH OF JULY, I HAVE MEMORIZED WORDS GOOD ENOUGH FOR MY IMMIGRANT DAD ARE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME
SAY THEM WITH ME
I PLEDGE ALLEGENCE TO THE FLAG, I CAN HEAR MY PAPA SAY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, HIS PRIDE WOULD BE SHOWING AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL

Small Flame Burning words and music by Gary Lynn Burt copyright 2003 gburt publishing
1. There is a small flame burning inside our hearts, lighting our way through the night, as long as your candle stays lit, I will find you, in the darkness it will seem so bright, if we open up our hearts, and tell a friend how we’re feeling, we will learn how irreplaceable we are, we must keep that small flame burning in our hearts...
2. There is a small flame burning, behind our eyes, that we may try to keep to ourselves, but when we let it out, as free as the sunshine, it can warm both you and someone else, if we try to control everything that we are given, everything we get will seem like a lie, we must keep that small flame burning behind our eyes...
3. There is a small child buried in too many souls, a child that wants to sing and dance and play, if we do not trust ourselves, then fear will be our master, fear won’t let love see the light of day, we all came here to dance, we all need to remember, how it felt to be a child so long ago, if we want to play and love again, we must free that small child buried in our souls, yes if we want to play and love again, we must free that small child buried in our souls...
there is a small flame burning, a small flame burning, a small flame burning in our hearts...

Timeless © Deb Ramos 2006 – All Rights Reserved
Night turning into dawn then into day, With you in a dream…or was I awake? I’m breathing you in, your essence now mine, I drink from your lips a taste sweeter than wine.
The light of the moon adorning your frame, My heart stops when you sigh my name My fingertip traces the softness of your lips, Wanting to wake you with a touch and a kiss.
Bridge 1: Forget the hour and the rise of the sun, Turn the flame into fire and let passion run Its course predestined, charted by fate Love is our rhythm, the music we make.
Chorus: We crossed over to the other side Where stars cross and lovers hide, Taking a chance More than romance, Trying to still the moving hands of the clock. Transforming our worlds from two into one, Never ending journey that’s just only begun, Days into hours, seconds into minutes Eternal our forever All that matters now timeless.
Can’t help but touch…I don’t want to rush. My heart’s beating wild…mean to take it slow, But once it’s begun we get lost in the flow, Not holding back, going where only we can go.
Don’t care for discretion, give every attention, Memorizing each detail at our own discretion, Our control can’t withstand the thunder that rolls, Made for this moment were our bodies, our souls.
Bridge 2: Taken aback from what I see in your eyes, You are my mirror wearing no disguise. The heat of your skin igniting me from within, You’re committing a sin, the sin of perfection.
Chorus: We crossed over to the other side Where stars cross and lovers hide, Taking a chance More than romance, Trying to still the moving hands of the clock. Transforming our worlds from two into one, Never ending journey that’s just only begun, Days into hours, seconds into minutes Eternal our forever All that matters now timeless
Connector: Doesn’t matter if tomorrow ever comes, Yesterday’s gone with the setting of the sun. Turning away from what measures each day, Nothing exists outside the breathless words we say. Intimate moments, never to fade We hold on to now, time forever betrayed.
Modulate to chorus: We crossed over to the other side Where stars cross and lovers hide, Taking a chance More than romance, Trying to still the moving hands of the clock. Transforming our worlds from two into one, Never ending journey that’s just only begun, Days into hours, seconds into minutes Eternal our forever All that matters now timeless

WHEN (c) 2005 VL Flawith (Socan, Ascap)
you warm in the morning after a nighttime of rain
you bloomed in my living washing away all my pain
(ch) when did the new become old shuffling through the days- while I rage at the sameness losing you in small ways?
love droops on the mantel dusty and drab in the sun
love touch without passion now that the ending's begun
(ch) when did the new become old shuffling through the days- while I rage at the sameness losing you in small ways?
(br) shall I pick up your socks from the floor and cradle you in my arms- tears seeping- once more?
(ch) when did the new become old shuffling through the days- while I rage at the sameness losing you in small ways?
when?

THE CHOICES WE MAKE © 2000 by Herbie Gaines All rights reserved
I don’t know what to do should I go or should I stay? Standing at the crossroads, move on or remain? Pulled in all directions, from the wise to the fool So much to decipher, am I weak or will I rule?
Do you follow your heart or do you follow your mind? A bad decision here could really be unkind! Be true to yourself, don’t make a mistake Destiny comes from the choices we make
My boss is saying one thing but it doesn’t feel right Am I quiet, or open, will I start a big fight? Do it myself, or ask for a hand? Or is it time to draw the line in the sand?
Should I go all out or hold back? Stay in neutral, or attack? Against the current or go with the flow? What to do? I gotta know!
Do you follow your heart or do you follow your mind? A bad decision here could really be unkind! Be true to yourself, don’t make a mistake Destiny comes from the choices we make
The choices we make, can be rewarding The choices we make, can take us soaring The choices we make, can also be haunting The choices we make, seal our fate! The choices we make My parents pulling one way, women take a turn The whole world’s spinning, when will I learn? I’ve got to think hard, it’s something I can’t fake My life will be decided by the choices that I make
Do you follow your heart or do you follow your mind? A bad decision here could really be unkind! Be true to yourself, don’t make a mistake Destiny comes from the choices we make…
I can think of a few choices I've made that haunt me still today... How 'bout you?....
The choices we make... Every hour, every day They’re right there in our face Some are weak and some are strong Are we right or are we wrong? Some are bad and some are great But choices seal our fate….. The choices we make… OOOOhhhh so tough…….……..The choices we make

Maybe Weeks by Kathie Touin copyright 2005
I can be as patient as I need to be Waiting while my life’s running away with me Looking for the answer to that morning question The one that yanks me wide awake without affection
A slap in the face to get me moving forward Tripping over expectations fully lowered All I want is someplace nice to lay my head But the road still lands me back in this old bitter place instead
Too much taste can be a surfeit Too much breathing leaves me airless Too much hope can really break you Too much hate is what it makes you
Someone taking me dancing Show me everything I’ve missed All the states of exaltation All the continents of bliss I know it’s out there somewhere just beyond my reach All I need’s a few more feet Or hours or hands Or maybe weeks
(chorus)
I can be as patient as I need to be Until the world will come and lay down curled around my feet So make of all this what you will I know what I’ll have found If you come back here tomorrow I might not still be around

The Barkeep Timothy A. Perry © July 10, 2003
Verse 1: A couple hours at the bar, I come searching for my soul. Shots and beers to see me clear, now how’s that for a goal? He sets ‘em up, I knock ‘em down. My eyelids start to sag. I just want that barkeep, to sit with me in the bag. He said, “Don’t ya get me started, oh you won’t get very far, I don’t drink in your bed, so don’t sleep in my bar.”
Verse 2: So where’s the wise old barkeep, that we all heard about? The one who’d lift my confidence from a deep ol’ well of doubt? Where’s the ear that’s listening? The words so wise and sage? I never thought that barkeep would hit me with his rage. He said, “Don’t ya get me started boy, cuz I just don’t have the time I don’t serve no fancy cheese, so don’t serve me your whine.”
Verse 3: I said, “Mishen lister, I can tell when I’ve (hic!) over-weighed my stelcome. You act like someone cheed into your Peerios, so how come?” He said…”I’m not my brother’s keeper, despite what you might think And I won’t mix my philosophy with cocktails in the sink. So don’t you even think it son, go on and pass out beneath the stars. Lord knows you’re a train wreck, but you can’t crash in my bar.”

Now I Know copyright 2006 Darcy Nair
I wondered what his hands would be like now I know I know that they are gentle and they're strong I wondered how his arms would feel around me now I know that in his arms is where I belong
I wondered how his mouth would kiss me now I know I wondered how his voice would say my name I wondered what his skin would taste like now I know Now that I know I'll never be the same
'Cause now that I know, I know what I am missing and I see that the wonder is gone Now that I know, I know what we could be and I just wish that I knew what went wrong
I wondered what his touch would feel like now I know I can’t resist and I never could I wondered what his heart would be like now I know He moves me like nobody ever should
I wondered how our love would change me now I know that I would give my body and my soul I wondered if it all could end now I know And I wonder if I ever can be whole
Now that I know, I know what he is giving someone else now that we are apart Now that I know, I know how much he loved me, I just wish that I knew my own heart
I wonder if it burned too hot to last I don't know Was it more than what I bargained for? Maybe what I felt just wasn't real That can't be so I'll never believe that in my heart
Maybe I want what I cannot have I don't know I could search for answers all night long But somehow I had to run from this That's all I know I can't stay with something that feels wrong
Now that I know, I know what I am missing and I see that the wonder is gone Now that I know, I know what we could be and I just wish that I knew what went wrong
Now that I know, I know exactly what I've given up now that we are apart Now that I know, I know that I still love him, I just wish that I knew my own heart
I just wish that I knew my own heart I just wish that I knew

Portrait of A Circus
Everyone's happy now it's circus time Waiting for popcorn and standing in line Not a frown on a face no one's out of place except for one who hides behind his smile
Laughing and shouting and pushing around Movement and dancing it's a merry go round It lights up the night but it lights it too bright and then for a time it leaves you fully blind
Magic mirrors for a dime buying laughter for a time but they can never show what's inside
Travelling troupes it's a menagerie Of fortunes and vendors and tents and marquees Through the boisterous crowd I saw a sad face and then through the night he began to fade away
everyone's happy except for the one who hides behind his smile

Ten Pound Grin (c) Pete Ekstam 2006
Note: A letter to my significant other during a fishing trip.
Honey, the trip in wasn't that bad Coming in the view was majestic The old Beaver held us up just fine Looked around with no roads in sight
I've got a feeling I'm gonna like it here No cell phones or t.v. shows Just all day and a 2-man fishing boat If you could only see me now, I've got a 10 pound grin
Been here all day killing time Feet on the edge and pole to the sky Watched two ravens fend off an eagle They done good, he kept on going by
The wild is talking and I'm talking back No flashy cars or fancy coats Just all day and a 2-man fishing boat If you could only see me now, I've got a 10 pound grin
Oh my god, what have I found It's a slice of something and I don't want to leave Well I'm sorry, I mean it, but baby I'm not coming home
On the last day back to shore Stopped the boat to admire The piercing rays of light Billowing through a cloud-filled sky
I've got a feeling I'm gonna miss this place No more 8-day pants or racoon tans Just back to the trenches and working for the man If you could only see me now, I've still got that 10 pound grin
Oh my god, what have I found It's a slice of something and I don't want to leave But if I must, well, I guess I'll be coming home

Media Deprivation - © 2004 Jeff Root ------------------------------------ Give me an C for couch potato. Give me an R for rump control. Give me an A for addictive game shows to stunt the brain and constipate the soul. Give me a P for pornographic to titillate the heart with sex and sin. and what does it spell? It spells it's time for media deprivation.
'cause we don't need NO MTV or shows about REALITY We don't need NO INTERNET to stay connected We don't need NO SATELLITE blinking down ACROSS THE NIGHT to entertain us when we go to bed.
Give me a P for for propaganda Give me a U for Uncle Spam. Give me a K for kiddie chat rooms with twelve years olds who fought in Viet Nam. Give me an E for "You've got email", with filthy ads to read in pained chagrin and what does it spell? It spells it's time for media deprivation.
'cause we don't need ...
Join the fight! Climb Aboard! Pull the plug! Yank the cord!
Give me an S for screeching monsters Give me a C for corporate schlock Give me a U for urban mobsters griping along to sampled classic rock. Give me an M for morning D.J.s with brownie points on every nose and chin and what does it spell? It spells it's time for media deprivation.
'cause we don't need ...
Make a stand! Raise your cup! Smash the tube! Shut me up!

Treat Your Children Fine
They come into this world Bright eyes shining No sight of what has been No thoughts for the past
Love them before first cry Wet eyes crying Hopeful for what has been Works against the past
Treat your children fine Treat your children well They are the tomorrow They are life's wine They are the tomorrow They are life's wine
Treat your children fine Treat your children well They are the tomorrow They are life's wine They are the tomorrow They are life's wine
They walk unto our world Clear eyes shining Thoughts of now, today No thoughts for the past
Love them at first try Wide eyes knowing Watchful for what's to come Guard against the past
Now they walk away Bright eyes excited Thoughts now of tomorrow No thoughts for today
Now they walk away Bright eyes excited Thoughts now of tomorrow No thoughts for today

Big Cities, Little Towns Copyright 2006 Joshua Jones We travel these roads To and from our homes The same way we've done for years Though the route stays the same They've added on two more lanes and you should see all our choices for gasoline
Chorus: Big cities are coming in to take over our little towns. They tear down the trees, to put the billboards all around. They tell us that Walmart is gonna bring the prices down. The big cities are coming in..
Old man Johnson's farm won't be around the corner from us for very long I heard the money he made will keep his family fed well beyond his years. So there's a subdivision coming it, and I can't say I blame him. You gotta make something off your blood, your sweat, and your tears.
Chorus: Big cities are coming in to take over our little towns They're buying up the land, to put thier houses all around. Mom and Pop have to work at the Walmart since thier stores closed down The big cities are coming in...
I've swam these lakes and pond for so long now. Somedays it seemed the only place for a kid to get away Now there are so many boats, my canoe will not float, and I'll never get the summer we were 17 back again.
Chorus: The big cities are coming in to take over our little towns They were saving us from ourselves when they tore our rope swing down I'm never going to work at the Walmart, and I hope that it closes down. The big cities are coming in.

Risk It All
Lyrics & Music: © 2006 By Tommy R. Clawson
Such a fine line between friends and lovers Sometimes the difference is hard to tell With one kiss they would discover Love can be heaven love can be hell From an innocent kiss a spark ignited An internal flame that won't let them go Now each breath fuels the fire A burning affair thats out of control
Chorus:
Just one more kiss one more night Can't stop this feeling inside Just one more kiss one more night Can't stop this burning desire Hearts on fire gonna risk it all
Bound by passion and desire Throwing caution to the wind Crossing the line from friends to lovers Time and time and time again They sneak away into the night Sharing a secret only two can know Stuck in the middle of wrong and right A burning affair thats out of control
Chorus:
Just one more kiss one more night Can't stop this feeling inside Just one more kiss one more night Can't stop this burning desire Hearts on fire gonna risk it all

The Sideman S. Russell c. 2006
You rode in high like Red on Mescalito Wrangled all the good times you could find Seems so soon for me to fare thee well old friend Come back again We'll dust those rusty songs off one more time
The girls were dancing on the picnic tables You thundered out La Bamba en Espanol Stole their broken hearts when you smiled good bye Ridin' by your side Those sunny days left a shadow on my soul The sideman never has to be the hero Yet there he sips the good wine just the same Why must bullets always dull the brightest eyes While the sideman's ghostly song alone remains?
Did you make your peace with the devil? Did your better angels drift away? Did you make your sails for the Southern Cross? Did you get lost? Sure hope you found yourself along the way
But the sideman never has to be the hero Yet there he sips the good wine just the same Why must bullets always dull the brightest eyes While the sideman's ghostly song alone remains?
You rode in high like Red on Mescalito

That Which I Should Have Done I Did Not Do Written by Nicholas Markos Published by Nicholas Markos Music copyright 1998
I was another man when you were mine I recall it like a dream now Like another life
And it’s the time of my life I’m growing older And as the seasons pass me by I’m growing colder
I’ve been going through some changes It’s been a long, long time And now missing you is all that I can do All my life
I’ve got all your pictures In a box beneath my bed And I take them out from time to time And I tell them all the things I should have said
Now that I know that you’re the only I’ll try to deny that I’m still lonely
I’ve been going through some changes It’s been a long, long time And now missing you is all that I can do All my life
I’m going out tonight, and I’m going to find you And when I do, I will remind you
That it’s the time of our lives We’re growing older And as the seasons pass us by We’re growing colder
I’ve been going through some changes It’s been a long, long time And now missing you is all that I can do All my life

RED RIVER VALLEY Cassandra von Braun (c) 2002, 2004
In the flood you were borne through the water Like a foundling, I carried you here We could pass forty years like a moment Far too soon I must leave you, my dear
Come and sit by my side if you love me For the last time There are different ways ahead we must go Our prayers for eachother make it right Where ever we are bound, let it be for the light
In darkness I came to this place, the mystery of love The rhythm of the blood bids our return There was never any happiness like lying in your arms Sweeter than the pear the secret we share So like the leaves, all my beliefs travel far upon the storm The roots of my existence are planted deep along these shores
So remember the Red River Valley Remember the breeze in your hair How we sat on the banks in the moonlight How it seemed we would always be here
And if they want the answer Why angels should be born, Say just because you wanted it Juice, and fruit, and thorn

The Blues Highway written by: Dennis Clifton/Steve Baccus, © Desert Rose Music BMI
Headlights shinin on the blacktop, Out on the blues highway Rollin' south out of Memphis, In a ragtop chevrolet Summer nights in the Delta , juke joints callin his name Layin down the blues on his old six string
Twenty bucks and a sixpack , for five long hours he’d play The passion for the night life, never seem to fade away Midnite flyer on the bayou, totin’ a heavy load Bendin’ them strings looking for the high road (chorus) At the crossroads in the Delta ,where the croppers gave their soul There’s castles full of bad luck, growing from the cotton bolls There ain’t no easy money, you can give the farm away Payin your dues on the Blues Highway
Bright lights shining on the dreamers, down on the Blues highway Highrollers and housewives throwing their money away Three sevens and a jackpot sometimes steal the show He just smiles and sings "Let the good times roll"
(Bridge) You don’t have to ask him, why he sings the blues Iit’s not about what you win, it’s what you lose

Bad for Me by Lisa Nicoll Copyright 2006
If I knew I was dying on Monday I’d throw all my caution in somebody’s trash, And I’d figure a way to love nobody but you And grab all you give up And swallow your whole body whole, And swallow your heart and your soul.
If I knew that the lies that come later Would come so much later they’d come not at all, I would lay down my gauntlet and fly over to you, And grab all you give up And swallow your whole body whole, And swallow your heart and your soul.
But I’m cast as a girl with a rent to pay And a heart that breaks on command. And what you say one day, you turn around, it’s not the same, and what I’m saying here, baby, is you’re bad for me.
See, I knew a boy killed by his daddy. His daddy’d been pissin’ on somebody’s lawn While the mommy lay crying home, holding her baby. She grabbed all he give up And swallowed his whole body whole, And swallowed his heart and his soul.
She was cast as a girl with a rent to pay And a heart that breaks on command. And what he’d say one day, he’d turn around, it’s not the same, And what I’m saying here, baby, is you’re bad for me.
See, I knew some boys killed by their daddies. Their daddies were bluesmen with nothing to lose But their little boys growing up knowing they’re nothing, They’re nothing, they’re nothing their daddies could lose, They’re nothing, they’re nothing their daddies could lose.

Too Much Gravity by Jerry Juden copyright 2004 Shamusongs Inc.
Saw you on the street the other day Had to turn and face the other way Surprised myself, thought I was over it all.
Yeah we said we'd still be friends After the romance ends But admittedly, I was ready to crawl.
It's just like me not knowing what I want Til it's too late and the feelings start to haunt And I rue my decisions, the choices I've made.
But I'm standing by my words as I should Don't worry, babe, I'm doing good The pain I felt is starting to fade.
Except wherever I go I drag my feet And I can't lift a fork to eat There's too much gravity.
I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders Got a heavy heart, but it's not full There's too much gravity.
Well the word is out you have a new beau They say you two clicked from the get go If you're happy now, then I'm alright.
I'm getting on with my life same as you I've changed my outlook, my point of view I've learned from this and my future looks bright.
Except wherever I go I drag my feet And I can't lift a fork to eat There's too much gravity.
I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders Got a heavy heart, but it's not full There's too much gravity.
In the maddening days ahead Part of me wishes I could stay in bed But I won't give in I'll be up and around.
I'll flit around from place to place Showing everybody my happy face Nothing will give away I'm feeling down.
Except wherever I go I drag my feet And I can't lift a fork to eat There's too much gravity.
I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders Got a heavy heart, but it's not full There's too much gravity.

MIDDLE OF A THING James Neal, Jr Copyright 2005
Smell getting rotten, the ghost of Bin Laden Some days it all seems so wrong. Horror and terror, we’re tearing our hair and Everyone wonders how long.
We love Minnie Driver and last week’s “Survivor.” Fox News decides what is real. You must be a dummy, you don’t drive a Humvee. This weekend the price is a steal.
We’re in the middle of a thing (x3) And we’re laughin
When jobs go to Asia, like quick euthanasia, Are we just supposed to stand tall? They don’t tax big spenders, polluters, pretenders, While soup lines spill out of the halls.
We’re governed by actors, acting like governors, Lying and lip-synching lines. We’re tongue-tied and pc’d, in projects and teepees Bamboozled, deaf, dumb and blind.
We’re in the middle of a thing (x3) And we’re singin and dancin
Slamming and scamming, Enron on the lam and Building those castles made of sand. Money, when you find it, can’t have evil behind it. Less freedom, no justice, homeland.
Somebody’s lying when soldiers keep dying. People, what are you doing? Children and nations, all civilization, People, what are WE doing?
We’re in the middle of a thing (x3) And we’re rockin and rappin, rollin and chillin swirlin and jellin, buyin and cryin blingin and dealin, fallin and dyin FADE

Harbor Marc Douglas Berardo (C) 2006 Overhead Map Music, ASCAP
The Hurricane of 38 ‘bout destroyed the whole damn fleet The fisherman was out of luck then He was back out in the streets
My Grandfather took to the whiskey It made him both quiet and mean One drink and he’d be screaming The next he’s be so serene
He’d walk the edge of this harbor And keep it all inside He died in 1975
Down in the borough its quiet And the sloops are all on blocks Years before it was so alive they spoke mostly Portuguese on these docks
Me I came to this town, I was just drawn to the sea I thought the past owed me something I thought the ocean would set me free But there’s something I can’t tell you, something I’ve kept in I’ve stowed it at the bottom but it’s coming up again
So I walk the edge of the harbor And mutter to myself And I keep a little whiskey on the shelf
This morning the thunder heads did gather and I watched a seabird fly To the edge of break wall Into the western sky Out beyond that break, above the wild sea Light as air, that bird was free
High above my tiny world into the desperate blue Long gone and finally out of view What it really made me feel I cannot really say I just can’t find the words today
Here in this Harbor Here in this Harbor

If I Had the Copyright Carla Ulbrich (c) 2006
If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k I’d say f**k this job and yourself you dumb f**k no need for hard work and no need for luck If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k
It’s filthy it’s nasty unseemly and vile That all may be true but it’s so versatile So often deleted this fine expletive Is a verb a noun and an adjective
If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k I’d have no need for dadgum dang darn shoot or shucks no need for hard work and no need for luck If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k
Not a gasp not a sigh from my mouth would be heard Nope just a cha-ching when I hear the F word If people got jealous of all of my wealth I’d tell them to copyright sh*t d*mn and h**l
If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k It would roll off my tongue like water off a duck Four-letter word usages perfectly honed I could retire on New York alone
Where they say f**k the f**king motherf**kers I don’t give a f**k If they can’t f**king take a f**king joke then hey what the f**k Those f**kers will f**k you so don’t get f**ked up Quit f**kin around or you’re gonna get f**ked
If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k I’d say f**k this job and yourself you dumb f**k no need for hard work and no need for luck If I Had the Copyright on the word f**k

“Like You Used to Do” Mike Reese ©1999
(Spoken)She was at the end of her rope, so she pleaded with him: I want you to touch me like you can’t stand not to, I want you to kiss me like it was the breath of life. I want you to lose yourself in my consuming passion, I want you all over me all through this night.
These are things I know you can do I’m not askin’ the impossible I just want you to love me Like you used to do
(Spoken)She begged him: I want you to listen when I pour my heart out, I want you to talk to me like you really care. I want you to fight back when we’ve got to work through it, I want you to lead the way through our dreams and take me there.
These are things I know you can do I’m not askin’ the impossible I just want you to love me Like you used to do Like you used to do Like you promised to Like you used to do
Bridge: I can’t do this on my own I didn’t get married to be this alone It takes two to make love grow Like it used to do
He never answered so she finally stopped askin’. She never wanted it to happen it just did. She found a lover that she wasn’t really after, Now the only time he sees her is when she drops off the kids.
When he asked her why, she looked at him in disgust, And said “You really don’t know, do you?” It’s because he loves me baby, Like you used to do.” Like you used to do Like you promised to Like you used to do
The morning comes and he awakes It was all a dream, it’s not too late, She’s still there next to him, so he wakes her Like he used to do Like he used to do When love was new Like he used to do

IS LIFE LIKE A KITE?
© Christiann Adams (BMI). All Rights Reserved.
Blown down while you’re aiming for the clouds Now your head’s in the sand Your best day becomes a hurricane You can’t predict the plan So you lift a little more Higher than before CHORUS: Is life like a kite? Soaring on a string then the string breaks Triangles tumble toward heartache Then you run with the wind Till you’re flyin’ again Is life like a kite?
Face down now you turn yourself around Till you’re facing the sun You prove there’s nothing left to lose You’ve already won When you get back up there Everything is in the air
CHORUS: Is life like a kite? Soaring on a string then the string breaks Triangles tumble toward heartache Then you run with the wind Till you’re flyin’ again Is life like a kite?
BRIDGE: Life is laughin’, then it’s tailspin Ya keep on tryin’, ya keep on tryin’ Ya keep on tryin’ to reach, tryin’ to reach Tryin’ to reach the sky
CHORUS: Is life like a kite? Soaring on a string then the string breaks Triangles tumble toward heartache Then you run with the wind Till you’re flyin’ again Is life like? Is life like a kite?

Try To Act Surprised Written by Simon Donohoe, Copyright August 2005
If everything was written down, was set in stone I’d be glued to the TV screen in an old folks home For harvesting organs and etching in our bones The millions of stories that have never been told It’s like some prophetic vision A glimpse of our future selves We won’t learn no lessons Just try, try to act surprised.
We spent our time so well, if only that was all. We’d be cheapening gravity by pretending not to fall Our eyes they spin around the room, looking for our friends But we don’t recognise the faces, ‘cos all we do is spin It’s like some prophetic vision A glimpse of our future selves We won’t learn no lessons Just try, try to act surprised.
I’ve got ink in my bloodstream Photographs in my eyes I’ve got smiles where my teeth should be And my back feels like its full of knives I crack my knuckles before I kneel down to pray It’s the hardest work an honest man can do, at the start of a brand new day.

Can't change the world
Written by: Jeff Sheppard (c)2003
Verse 1 Would it be easier if we all saw things the same Somehow I don’t think so Cause in our differences there lies so much beauty I don’t understand how it causes so much pain
Chorus I can’t change the world, it’ll never be perfect But maybe I can make a difference to the world around me I can’t change the world it’ll never be perfect But if I can make it a little better it’s been a day well spent
Verse 2 We’ve all got something to say But sometimes listening is better Cause maybe if we listened more then we Wouldn’t live in this confusion
Chorus I can’t change the world, it’ll never be perfect But maybe I can make a difference, to the world around me I can’t change the world, it’ll never be perfect But if I can make it a little better, it’s been a day well spent
Bridge What happens if we can’t see passed our own point of view If we can’t share what we have with each other It doesn’t matter if we don’t feel the same about everything Don’t you see it’s better
Chorus I can’t change the world it’ll never be perfect but Maybe I can make a difference, Maybe I can make it better I can’t change the world it’ll never be perfect but If I can make it a little better, it’s been a day well spent

Half As Good (As This Song) Josh Kamensky Copyright 2005
I thought you might make your way over When you had your fill of the boys I think you and i might have a fine time If wasn't for this awful noise. I could talk to you for hours I could make you feel understood But i'm already fighting a headache Cause the music in here just ain't any good.
I don't want to hurt any feelings But it's a long way from Willie or Merle This here guy may play the worst guitar In the whole known guitared world We could hear a planetary symphony But the atmosphere's all wrong Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song?
I can think of a thousand places I'd rather be instead Where i could sing this song to you Til you couldn't get it out of your head But i think it might take another couple of beers To get you to sing along Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song?
I don't want to hurt any feelings But this a long way from Patsy Cline The things they'll play on the jukebox today Could make a dictator resign We could make a glorious noise my friend Make the angels bang a gong Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song?
I can think of a thousand places I'd rather be instead I could sing this song to you Til you couldn't get it out of your head But I think it might take another couple of beers To get you to sing along Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song?
And wouldn't it be nice to know Somewhere deep inside your soul Someone knew the words you sing all by yourself
I could write a melody I could learn to sing in key You could be the harmony, you could be the only woman in the world
I can think of a thousand places I'd rather be instead I could sing this song to you Til you couldn't get me out of your bed But i think it might take another couple of beers Til you're ready to sing along Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song? Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song? Wouldn't it be good if the music in here was half as good as this song?
