I'd paint it the same shade as my warpaint. If I wore it of course. Could maybe try some of that electric contact cleaner stuff in the spray can maybe. That should be safe provided you give it time to evaporate out before you switch on again. Maybe spray it on a soft , clean shoe brush and go for it rather than directly on to the mike. Mike screens are notorious for harboring germs..
We used to reinfect ourselves with the flue etc. before we learned about windscreen maintenance.
Get an anitseptic spray like lysol and spray the screen every nite..
About once a week, remove the screen and soak it in sparkling water for a few hours..
It works

Hardware store, or Radio Shack would have it for sure. Bob's way is good if you are using a pop catcher. Have never seen one used live myself though. Just in the sdudio. I'd worry about suing Lysol on the mike proper myself, it being very caustic. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Yer right Cobber...
didn't mean to spray the lysol on while the screen was attattched to the mike..
They (most) all of them screw off for cleaning....
Sparkling water and maybe a scrub with a toothbrush should do the job on the lipstick... I never sang close enough to the mike to get my lipstick on the screen... Snagged a few pantyhose on the mic stand though..

And you're right too Cobber. I didn't know. and never thought to unscrew the dang things. Just tried it and it does in fact do so. Mine has a foam muffle in iside , I presume ya take that out and wash it seperate. So as to be able to wring it out and so the metal dries quick so it don't rust. The electic contact cleaner stuff is mostly acahol I think so think I will save that for clearing the lippy off the mike. Things ya learn in this place.
