“I Saw Beautiful” (C) 2003 by W.L. “Bill” Cooper First Draft. After reading “Tampa Stan’s” (Livin Large) the other day I started wondering if it was possible to write a song for a less than perfect female performer. A song about her being less than perfect and yet inspiring enough to make her want to perform it. Anyway this is my feeble attempt at what may be impossible.
V-1 All those perfect faces in the fashion magazine. dressed in silk and laces and treated like a queen smooth lite copper skin eyes deeper than the sea. I’d turn the page and then make a wish that it was me.
(Chorus) then I Saw Beautiful where it never was before when I saw Beautiful my heart began to soar Why would I wish to be any different than I see Yes I saw Beautiful and Beautiful was Me.
V-2 I looked within a mirror, hanging from my door. slowly inching nearer than I had ever gone before deep beyond my eyes, I saw a heart unfold That's when I realized, I was looking at a soul.
(Chorus) then I Saw Beautiful where it never was before when I saw Beautiful my heart began to soar Why would I wish to be any different than I see Yes I saw Beautiful and Beautiful was Me.
V-3 Instead of only faces, I see a whole lot more. A cripple in his braces, the homeless troubadour. The old man with his cane, such a beauty to behold, the eyes cry out in pain. but his smile will warm your soul
end (Chorus) Yes I Saw Beautiful in a homeless troubadour. The old man with his cane, the sick, the lame, the poor Yes I saw Beautiful where I never looked before and I saw Beautiful in you and you and you and hope you see Beautiful when looking my way too.

Hi, In a hurry up read, I saw nothing but, Beautiful. I love the idea and it is, as is all of your work that I have read, very nicely metered. I sang it. I like that in a lyric. I'll come back again and take a better look later. Idamarie

Hi Bill, 2nd lyric with a great sentiment that I have read tonight. Really have no NITs. Really like how you changed up the chorus the last time. I was expecting this to just be about finding beautiful in the singer's own self. The twist of seeing it so broadly was great. --jeff

Hey Bill...I SEE Beautiful here---Beautiful Job, lots less "Attitude" than I was pushin' in my Lyric, this is Lots More Pallatable than My effort.
"KUDOS" to ya--reads REALLY Beautifly!
Good Luck with it, Amigo, Beautifully Done!

I like it. An "Everybody's Beautiful in their own way..." kind of theme--only turned inward. Good work.
Keep writing.

nice job on this Bill; needs more responses! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) I only had one "nit": a smile to warm to grow old. This line just didn't flow for me; i think it's do to having 2 "to"'s so close together. Don't have any suggestions off the top of my head. Thought this was well done though.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the read and comments Yeah the last chorus was really designed for on stage performance. I had visions of the singer walking across the stage and pointing out people as she sang (in you) and you and you. Regards Bill
