Accel, great "big" sound on the production of this. Love the whistle part. Can I add it to my "coffeshop" page on soundclick, streaming only.

Well shucks: the sun is going down in Florida as I listen to this - if only I'd know what to expect, I'd have grabbed a corona and lime to go with it.
Cool song Accel. Love the way you hop genres. This does, indeed, have the feeling of summer to it.
Nice!

Nice, Martin. Love the song and the "slow sexy dance" quality of it. One nit: Oh baby, don’t blame me How did things get this crazy? YOU'RE THAT feeling inside ------------------ "Experience teaches us that silence terrifies people the most."~~Bob Dylan www.giddygirlmusicpublishing.com
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Thanks Tom,
I believe that music is truly universal and crosses social, cultural, economic and national boundaries!
My wife’s cousin is the lead singer for reggae band up here in Canada that is gaining major popularity “Bedouin Soundclash” and they are about to play Jamaica and they are primarily white! Just like UB40!
Canadian reggae – who would’ve thought!
But when I really think of it off the top of my head I know Gary O sociably who use to play for Big Sugar (Gordy Johnson - vocalist – guitarist, went on to form “Grady” out of Texas with the original drummer for Stevie Ray) and is now playing for Truths and Rights, which is a Canadian reggae band as well, and not mention the band “Messenja”.
I’m sure this is just the tip of the iceberg and that the musical differences are just as diverse in big town USA as they are in any free nation!
I believe even one of Bob Marley’s parents originally came from Delaware!
It blows my mind to think of the impact that this thing music has one each of us!
For me it’s the ultimate form of artistic expression and yet I sit and listen back to this thing I’ve created and really wonder where it came from.
Sorry to “blather” on Tom, sometimes I don’t know when to shut up.
Thanks again for listening and your support and allowing me to rant!

Hey Scott,
You paint a very nice picture!
Conversely, at the time when you were writing your reply (because you are on the same time as us up here) I was at a gig and the power when out for about two hours! I was just about to resort to acoustics when the power was restored!
I was actually looking forward to doing an acoustic set which I do every now and then just to keep anchored!

Hey Bob,
Howdy partner!
What do you say we hit the trail and play every flee-bitten saloon from here to Albuquerque? lol
I met a wonderful woman last night who was from Georgia and got to hear some of her lyrics which she said she had tones of and they were pretty good – it must be in the water that rolls down from dem der hills er something!
Shot in the dark - I asked her if she knew you (stranger things have happened)
When I get around to it –it’s kind of on the back burner now because of all that has been going on - but – I think I’ve got another song for you – it’s down your alley and I think it’ll “showcase” your voice nicely. Wa wha What do ya think?
Thanks for your support – you know how much it means to me!

Hey Tricia,
I’m glad you caught that – yes that was suppose to be “it’s what I’m feeling inside” but came out sound like “what I’m feeling aside”.
It’s funny you mentioned it – because the same point came up two days ago when I was visiting our old friend John Findlay and he played me a vocal track from his song “Voodoo Chief” and pointed out how he mispronounced a word by not accentuating the “s” at the end of it and it kind of sounded like a lisp or a “th” instead.
I responded with “why not?” To me it adds character in this particular instance because he was mimicking Dr. John who the song was about! Not to say that Dr. John has a lisp, but when mimicking a famous personality - it seems to me that the mimicker has “free license” to embellish that character to drive the character home. Sorry for rambling. I just drew the analogy between the two and at the same time thought that everybody should know that John is doing great!
Oh and I like your idea better “Your that feeling inside”!
Tricia – I think that about a year or so ago we corresponded about collaborating but I can’t recall what happened. All I remember is that you wrote a song that had “Makers Mark” in it and it was about a tough girl or something along those lines. Was that you?
Anyhow thanks for your support and good advice!

Accel, The opening and the perfect contrast between the 2 guitars is the COOLEST thing I've ever heard! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Next - The basic hookiness and vibe of the song could be the catchiest song I've ever heard from you. As a matter of fact it is... A current pop star can do this song and make it a hit if they would ever just do it man! The lyric is not my cup of tea but is the perfect blend for this music and type of song, especially in the pop style it has.. You did a GREAT job on this all the way around! Loved it! and still reeling over the 2 guitars ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) peace & best Sub [This message has been edited by substudio (edited 08-28-2006).]

Thanks Michael for those words of encouragement.
Coming from you those words hold tremendous weight, as your music is very different, which I think is a great musical asset and one to be used at every turn!

Sub,
I always look forward to hearing from you. Your words of advice and support are important to me. After I read them, I usually walk away and think about them and then come back and read them again and let them really sink in. If you factor in the busy schedule of being a father, husband and blue-collar slave then it becomes evident of the time for me to respond let alone write and record original music!
Those two opening guitar lines came about as the result of playing around with different chord and picking structures. Once I had one recorded, I would “play” around with different possibilities that I thought might compliment the other. Then I’d come up with another and get rid of the first one and so on until I was left with these two, which I felt worked well together.
“Next - The basic hookiness and vibe of the song could be the catchiest song I've ever heard from you. As a matter of fact it is... A current pop star can do this song and make it a hit if they would ever just do it man!”
I tried to pull out all the stops I could think of when recording this. I would pull out the background music in parts to see what would happen to the dynamics and found that it worked well at the end of the choruses where the acoustic guitar part would lead the song into the next segment and also in the bridge, I pulled out a lot of the bass line and kept the second guitar to a bare minimum as well as the drums to give it a bouncy feel.
I’m sooooo glad you liked it for what it was. The lyrics are not my cup of tea either but they are what felt right for the mood of the song. I tend to distance myself and my tastes when creating a more commercial piece as I feel that the song is the boss, not me.
Thanks for listening and for your support!
Looking forward
