Firstly let me apologise for posting this one up so quickly after the last one. But it happened that way. Now there is just something about the Moon an me. I can't express it in words so I hope my guitar can do it for me. Track 1 http://www.soundclick.com/gwcooper Gerry

Morning Clairejeanne I am so glad you enjoyed it. Hellos Stan yes melancholy is the word and in classical terms possible nocturne which means a dreamy piece of music LOL. Yes both Guitar tracks on this one are played on the Strat played through a Johnson J-Station. Equalised with a pinch of Tape Simulation added in Sonar XL. thanks for the listen, Gerry ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/gwcooper

Gerry, There's some background hiss going on in this track that I've never heard before on any of your other mixes. Might have run your pre-amp a bit hot? Other than that, this is a very relaxing beautiful piece. Reminds me of many of the summer evening walks that Lorie and I take together. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Currently the moon is about 3/4 full and is being "chased" by the slowing rising planet of Mars in the Southern Hemisphere. Mars is expected to shine it's brightest by August 28th, but it's already the most visible of stars & planets in the night skies. Maybe you can come up with a song about mars? Something like "Twinkle Twinkle Big Red Mars? Just a thought for inspiration! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) In the meantime, thanks for "La Luna"! Hi Gerry I hear you're having fun with that new Strat ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) As usual this piece has a wonderful ambience and creates a mood with imagery. I like the simplicity and openess of the arrangement. A couple of minor timing issues might be resolved if you worked to a click track. Also, there's some noise creeping past the gate - probably from your Pod (or whatever you're using) that distract from an otherwise pristine sound. Lovely playing, nice composition!! Cheers Simon

Good morning Michael, Thanks my friend for the heads up on the hiss. We have a heatwave down here in southern Spain and I have had to have a fan going full bore in my small Studio. Lesson learned don't use open head phones with a fan going when doing the final mix LOL. I have re-mixed it so I hope it now is hiss free and you can walk in the Summer without a hiss LOL Gerry ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/gwcooper

Hello Simon how are things down under? I hope the hiss is now resolved part of the cause is old age LOL As for the timing issue LOL would you believe I did run a Click Track. Just shows how bad it would have been if I hadn't used it. I might invest in a good old fashioned metronome although I suspect you either have timing or you don't and I clearly don't LOL Oh and how are things going with your new toy!! Thanks for the heads up on the mix Michael. I haven't forgotten Mars but me thinks it will need something dramatic God Of War and all that. Gerry. ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/gwcooper

Hi Gerry
A fan, huh? Whoever woulda thunk it? It sure fooled me! LOL
How are ya coping with the heat there? It sounds pretty extreme from what's been in the news over here!
As for playing with my toys, well, I'm still in the midst of re-building my studio so I've spent more time lately with hammers and saws, with paint and plaster than I have with guitars and keyboards. I'm hoping to have it all finished within the next week or so but even then I won't be able to get straight back into the creative, fun side of things. I have a job to complete that involves attempting to remove as much noise, scratches and pops as possible from about 200 old 78rpm recordings. Double Ugh!! Still, it all helps to pay the bills I guess.
As for that timing thing, well, timing has almost always been my biggest weakness. I have an almost incurable tendency to play about 10 - 20 ms ahead of the beat and end up having to correct it through tedious and judicious editing LOL
Anyway, I'd better get into my Monday. Heaps to do and not enough hours!
Take care bud,
Simon

Good luck with the building Simon and the 200 78's now that could be a joy but it depends what's on them LOL regardin the heat wave I'm on the coast so it's not that bad but inland from me they have hit 42ºC in the shade. Can anyone do a rain dance? Hello Michael glad this one mellowed you out. I nearly fell asleep playing it LOL Have a good one. Gerry ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/gwcooper
