Hi All,
I've paid to download 3 software programs that promised to do this, none worked, and none would refund. Anyone know of a program that actually does this? HELP!
Thanks,
John

I'm pretty versed in my audio stuff, but I don't believe I know what CDA is. I'm going to guess that you mean CD Audio or just a CD that you'd like to rip to MP3 format. Why are you buying a program to do this?!? There are tons of free programs that do a fantastic job. Tops on the list for ease of use would be iTunes. It's available for both Mac and Windows platforms. Best of all, it's free. It can convert CD's to MP3's or AAC's, or even Apple Lossless. Plus lots of different specs within those formats. My vote is for iTunes. Jody ------------------ Music That Makes Your Soul Happy! www.jodywhitesides.com

CDex works well, too. It is free, and can be downloaded from the internet.
I've been using it for years without a hiccup.

Hi All,
I've gotten it worked out. The program that works for sure, is Music Match Plus. I downloaded it today and Yea! cda is a special file a lot of studio software uses.
Thanks all,
John

JSELL, exactly what studio software creates cda? I've heard of AIFF, WAV, Broadcast WAV, and SDII, but never cda. Please enlighten me. Jody ------------------ Music That Makes Your Soul Happy! www.jodywhitesides.com

Hi Jody,
I'm not sure. It's the one my demo guy uses to create audio CD's. I also get them on WAV but that's not easy to convert when working with 12-24 tracks
Have a great one.

cda is the extension used for audio tracks on an audio CD. It's not as robust as WAV or aiff but you can play them in your CD player. ------------------ Later, Pat

If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be, I believe the cda file is similar to a m3u file and more a link to the sound file than the sound file itself. ------------------ Miltenberger Homes

I record on a Yamaha AW4416 and have been told the format is CDA. Although the machine has a program to convert to WAV files it does not work. My biggest complaint about the machine. I suspect it has more to do about a Yamaha code that prevents use with other machines. The newer versions have UBS and a WAV program that works. Not being a tech person, the CDA caught my attention. Anyone else have this problem and/or a solution? Dan

CDA is not really a file format. It is an extension for a path from one computer to a host drive (CD or DVD player.) The .wav file is there on the drive itself but, you needa software that will recognize the proper file format. Try Audiograbber.... it's a free software and will convert .wav files on a CD drive to MP3
