OP Stv7 Casual Observer S Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 1 Mansfield, Ohio, USA	Hi my name is Stv7 and my music project is called BentWithLight. I am selling my debut CD "Progress Report" on www.cdbaby.com/bent and have only sold ONE CD in my first 2 months! No, this isn't because I haven't been promoting- I promote myself as much as I possibly can. No, this isn't because it isn't good- in fact, cdbaby personally called me up when I submitted it just to tell me how impressed they were! I am so angry! And confused! How could this happen? Am I cursed with irony? Am I not supposed to be selling my music? What Am I supposed to do, throw it in the garbage?? Is the internet really somewhere to market new music, or am I wasting my time? Do people really read message boards? I am going to listen to it now and see how it is! Where are you from? What local shows do you do? Who is your fan base? The net is only a tool to help sell stuff, not a salesman. You are the salesman and actually your post raised my curiousity enough to dig your CD out of the 2500 or so I have here to listen to it. But it is a non stop, relentless process that you have to keep working on. Over time, things pick up. Many folks think once they record and manufacturer their album, get it on a site to sell it, create a website to support it and let everyone on their mailing list know it is out there that the work is done. Wrong. The work hadn't even started until you got to that point. NOW the work is beginning. I look forward to hearing it! (It came with the other 650 CDBaby entries into the music awards and we are plowing through them as we speak. Good Luck!
