What's the coolest to me is that Chris doesn't fit into a trend or classification - he's got a timeless quality that should defy the winds of fad and fancy. It might be a little early to say this, but I think with the right song and career choices, he could be a worthy successor in the line of folks like George Strait - Alan Jackson - Brad Paisley...

Congratulations on your win. It's great to see that dreams still come true, and that persistance and talent does pay off. I have enjoyed swapping posts here at JPF with you in the past. I received an email this morning from my plugger saying he has a meeting this afternoon and again next week with RCA Nashville's A&R department specifically for Chris Young pitches. Hey Guys! I'm still completely overwhelmed, and I think I just now stopped shaking. I quite literally feel like I'm living in the middle of a moving tornado right now - and it's a good feeling - LOL!!
I know mom talked to Brian for a little while yesterday. I have every intention of continuing to drop in here when I can.
Thank you for all the support, emails, comments and everything while I was on the show.
The process has been amazing, and if any of you are interested, I would encourage you to watch the website for audition dates for this coming year. By the way, not sure if Brian got any information on America's Got Talent or not, but I think they are currently underway with auditions also. It's an NBC talent show being produced by Simon Cowell.
I know I'm probably not making a bit of sense - I've still not had much sleep. Just wanted to touch base and say THANK YOU for everything.
I'll be around soon.

Hi Chris, I haven't been posting regularly for quite some time but I did record and watch all but one of this year's episodes. Funny thing is, when they first announced the song you were doing for originals night, I thought to myself "Oh no, not ANOTHER country song about drinking." But you know what? "You did your thing dog." Anyway, I'm proud that you won as you were clearly the best of the bunch, though Casey came pretty close near the end. I wish you the best of luck and I'm happy for you and your family. My wife and I will be looking forward to your first "professional" album release.
