Folks, this is as old as five years ago and went through the wringer on the old MP3 site.

VMG (notice how close that sounds to BMG?) is about as legit as a three-dollar bill... their semi-legion of "true believers" and "true knowers" are like a cult, and Bobby Farrell is the self-styled Acadian general of the whole thing.

Their scam is to get wanna-bes to pay them $400 to $1200 (maybe more now) to upload a song to the so-called satellite network and be tracked on those ridiculous charts (in order to 'test the waters' and see if the song has the necessary "groove"!)... the server for which happened to have been in New Mexico (or was it Arizona?) in someone's residence, charts created from whole cloth out of the house of one of the VMG's stable of 'artists', a girl named Chylon (presumably one of Bobby's lieutenants) and her hubby.

At least it was at the time... things have probably been moved around some since then... and more 'Vice Presidents' serving in other countries now... funny how those VPs also happen to have songs on the chart and/or spots on the compilation CDs VMG used to produce, and perhaps still are.

Nice corporation, eh? More like a pyramid scheme.

And that's just the start! If some gullible soul can be convinced the song has what it takes to sell, judging by chart movement, then comes the whole executive producer scam and another $10K to $20K on a CD release!

So Brian pretty much has it pegged in his post about the chart scams and European mom-and-pop radio station DJs.

Move on, folks... nothing to see here.

Brian,

YOU ARE A BALD FACED LIAR!

WAS AN IP BLOCK! I know, I checked it myself!

And YOU, or one of your fellow crackpot 'moderators', blocked Colonel R. F. Cunningham to prevent his relies because none of you can stand the HEAT of TRUTH lest one of your sheep find out they can lead their own flock!

The Fact is: neither Colonel R. F. Cunningham, Songwriter's Radio Service http://www.songwritersradioservice.com , General Bobby Farrell, Atlantic Satellite Top 2,500 http://www.atlantic-satellite.com , Vandor Music Group http://www.vmgworldwide.com are 'on trial' here. YOU ARE!

Right along with your equally crackpot know-nothings-and-do-lesses who haven't a legitimate industry credit between them.

None of your damned lies and defamations won't hold one drop of sewerage with anyone who will click on those URLs and pay attention to what is actually there.

At Songwriters Radio Service, they'll find out how to put their demos into hard broadcast competition where the only true Judges are Program and Music Directors making content decisions for their respective coverage. No 'membership' fees or continual costs like the TAXI scam you so proudly endorse. Your hypocrisy in this matter is appalling: SRS's $15.00 Registration Fee "is a scam" and TAXI's $300.00 'membership' fee isnt? Not to mention their continual 'service' fees and charges? YOU LYING HYPOCRITE BASTARD!

At Atlantic, they'll find the COLOR CODED chart for the previous month (all charts are history reports) revealing who is HOT who is NOT and who is BOUGHT! None of which come from such scams as TAXI or those of Gary Bradshaw's ilk. Such compromised product DOES NOT qualify for main-line broadcast or back ground music service.

At VMG, they'll find over 250 Artists that Bobby Farrell International Network (BFIN) has in the world wide charts RIGHT NOW! Those with enough brains to see through the likes of YOU will find over 900 songs, some charting some not, playing around the world. Additionally, they'll find the over 2,700 Artists BFIN has charted during the past TEN YEARS, and well over 500 this year, 2005, alone: something no 'scam' operation could even approach!

AND ALL OF YOU PUT TOGETHER HAVEN'T ACCUMULATED THAT KIND OF TRACK RECORD IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFETIME!

As for Colonel Cunningham's and General Farrell's military and other personal accomplishments, you'll find the full gene-test on-line when and if you get the courage to look for it. But take the time to READ it, you'll learn just how STUPID and gutless you and your ilk really are.

All anyone need do is READ the above sites and make up their own mind. If they're incapable of that, there's nothing awaiting them in recorded music and entertainment. Whether or not they incorrectly assume that VMG is a scam will not preclude the absolutely accurate HOW TO ... and WHAT TO AVOID information given there. The site has been on-line for TEN YEARS and not one of the accuseds have even so much as threatened to sue for either defamation or libel because TRUTH is a perfect defense against both! And ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, RIAA, TAXI and even street-sewer scams like Gary Bradshaw all know it!

FYI, I am Amanda Rupprecht's mother-in-law. She was married to my late son, Arnold. We still own and operate Atlantic Satellite Marketing, Ltd, although re-located from Alvarado, Texas, to Kingston, Jamaica. We ARE NOT a promolibrary, affiliated with any label, publisher, or licenser. However, Amanda's late mother was a gopher for Bobby Farrell's shows when she was a teenager, back in the late 40s. Additionally, Bobby Farrell pulled my sister and two of her friends out of the West Fork River and is credited with saving all their lives from a sunken automobile, just before his 12th birthday in 1948. Any of you got that much courage? I doubt it.

Just so you know the connection, and just so you'll have something to spew your defamations and damnations about! The fact nobody of any intelligence will pay attention to one word of your idiocies won't stop you one bit.

Even so, I await your blocking me too, locking or deleting this thread, whichever your cowardice dictates.

Miranda Rupprecht
watcher@atlantic-satellite.com

Whitesides, you're too stupid to know a satellite feed from a CHART!

RobertK,

And how many of those idiots from mp3, including you, have done a damned thing in the LEGITIMATE industry in those five years?

Let me tell you: NONE!

Because the information that WORKS is not the information you idiots want to hear.

OMGIROTFLMFAO!!!!!

With every post these clowns give in support of VMG they appear more and more disturbed.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but . . .
4 years ago, I actually tried out a scam like this - convincing my wife it was the right thing to do. After sending the idiots $200, their phone line suddenly went dead. That was it!

These guys are up to no good and as Jody pointed out, all you have to do is look at the poorly designed website.

If it looks fishy . . . guess what it smells like?

I'll repost this right below Watcher's post so that it can be seen again...

But before I do, let me just comment on being called stupid. Watcher, I'm very aware of what a satellite feed is, it is not a CHART - just as you put it. I'm also aware that a satellite feed is regulated by the US government, then through businesses that correctly obtain a license to use the airwaves, i.e. XM, Sirius, DirectTV, etc. My searches are not showing that Atlantic Satellite has a legitimate "feed" service. But for some reason because I'm supposed to believe some website, I'm attacked when I don't, and any research I attempt to dig up, leads me nowhere.

Again you and several of the other new people chiming in for the thread have said that SESAC is not on the up and up. However, I mention in a post that I'm personally getting paid for my airplay from my muisc and know from first hand experience that it's correct, yet you insist I'm being lied to. I'm getting paid - real money, I didn't have to pay SESAC to get it. It doesn't get any more real than that.

No, I didn't have to save someone's life from drowning as a kid to be honest and full of integrity - the opportunity has never presented itself in that form. But since you do want to go there, I did save someone injured in skiing accident when I was about 15. However, in business I'm not sure how saving someone from drowning or accidents has anything to do with whether or not I'm a good person to deal with. Hell, I've read about axe murderers who've done good deeds too, should I do business with them? This is getting silly.

Obviously, we've got a large organization of people here at JPF and VMG was hoping to get some business from us. Unfortunately it has been reduced to attacks on Brian, JPF, myself and others because we won't believe the hype. If that means I'm stupid and can't get anywhere in the music business (oh wait, did I mention I'm the first non-signed artist on iTunes Music Store - or is that another scam that I'm being paid for having my music on?), then so be it.

**** repost from page 1 ****

C.Holly, you are making the assumption that no one went to the vmg website to read it. I did. Right before I made my post that I know SESAC is paying me for airplay that I'm getting, more than I ever got with BMI.
However, my feelings about VMG are not good based on the website that I saw. Here's why:

1. For as much money as VMG claims to be worth with/for artists and all this distribution power and international reach, they have a surprisingly poor design and implementation for a website. Any business worth their salt will spend the appropriate money and pay someone to design a proper site that will attract business not turn it away.

2. You C.Holly, Fingers, and Frank who has edited the original post to remove VMG's website link also mention Satellite radio services. Currently there are two in America. They are called XM and Sirius, if there are others they are operating outside of the US government jurisdiction here in the States, and that would be considered illegal. The mentions here of atlantic-satellite being worldwide would thus be incorrect.

2. a) Upon visiting atlantic-satellite's website it too is also one of those poorly designed sites that screams we're not legitimate. Compare atlantic's site to XM or Sirius and you'll see what I mean.

3. The original post was extremely brief and at one time made some obscure references to a business that didn't really explain what that business does. It was not a press release as you mentioned it was. For it was a press release it was not posted in a common press release format. Any PR person who gets results would know how to correctly format one. Frank obviously does not.

4. We suddenly get two new people who happen to know about this post and immediately come post here in defense of a poorly written "press release" and equally poor website that is not well received. You keep coming back to post about some people that hardly bring up anything in Google that is relevant to the music business. In fact I only found one reference to Bobby in wikipedia, and the rest is the BFIN for VMG. Attempting to pull anything up on the Colonel, well let's just say there isn't anything except for VMG.

5. When someone other than Brian actually responded and also asked questions about the business, Frank, Fingers, the Colonel, and even you, well, they got ignored. Except in the case of you.

6. You, C.Holly, are defending people who may have left a legacy, but I'm personally not able to dig up any information on any of these people that gives me any feeling of comfort. In the Google age, you have to go out of your way to actually not show up on their radar. Especially if you have any presence on the internet or in entertainment.

So, in response to this entire thread. It would seem that there is no headway to be made here when a business cannot properly promote itself and/or explain itself. It's not up to you C.Holly to tell us that VMG is legitimate. It's up to VMG customers, which if they had such great clients would be making them the god's that you claim they are. One phone to my representative at SESAC has already disproven that anyone has heard of this amazing company called VMG. Until this thread I'd never heard of them. I'm willing to bet that ZZ Top hasn't heard of them either - considering they're signed & distributed with Warner Brothers Records. I don't know about Alan Jackson as I'm not a fan of his.

I think that's enough of this thread.

**** finish repost ****

Hey watcher, THIS know-nothing-done-less has had a pretty successful run in this buisness,[as have MANY members of this organization] and can eat you and your ilk for lunch, and have room for dessert!!! I suggest you all stop the name calling, and crawl back under whatever clown--car you crawled out from under,or better yet, back to the Jonestown complex with General Doofus, Colonel Klink, And Captain Crunch, and leave us "slimey bastards" alone! we're onto your game! P.S DON'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID!

So what does that graphic have to do with our website? There's no way to block an IP from visiting our site. We're hosted by another company. We can only block someone from making a post, which in this case we haven't done. You guys are really psychos! = )

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice the large amount of anti-Semitic language on the VMG site. Look at their ASCAP/BMI page for a prime example. Whoo, boy.

I am affiliated with BMI, and I received regular royalties from my recorded songs (3) that were recorded in the UK and played on radio stations in Spain/Denmark/Italy.

Also my first airplay came from the BBC Country station in the UK, and BMI sent me my first payment for that song on the radio.

Not big bucks, these were Indie releases that I pitched myself, but I have had a couple of holds since I moved to the States, and I have three publishers in Nash who are (hopefully) pitching the songs they have in their catalogs.

I'm wondering if the artists listed on the website as "currently Charting World Wide via Vandor Music Group's Bobby Farrell International Network" are aware that their names are being used in that manner. There are some huge names listed such as; Alan Jackson, Alice Cooper and Allison Krauss. Seems to me that the artists listed, and some are songwriters as well, are members of BMI, ASCAP and SESAC and may not appreciate having their names on a web page that claims these organizations are "anti-Gentile" or be associated with any organization that would so publicly and vehemently make the comments that the VMG site makes.

I would be very surprised if the names there are there legally and legitimately, considering the comments made. I'm sure that if the artists were aware, their names would be removed very quickly at the least and maybe some lawsuits would be filed against VMG for the use of their names in such a manner.

Have you ever considered VMG?
Apparently, you've been scammed and it's time you wake up and smell the proverbial coffee Sistah! LoL!
The sooner you and all us losers figure that out, the quicker you'll begin to know firsthand what 'big bucks' are. Of course the big bucks will be flowing out rather than in, I suppose. But, BMI is a pure waste of time. Why not sign up wit da Colonel and his soldjahs. After all, Elvis had a Colonel - must be legit! Waddaya waiten fer? [Linked Image]

Cody,Good point about using artists names without consent, I like how they claimed that in the last 10 years they took "ZZ TOP TO THE TOP!" Too bad about their lack of success the PREVIOUS 20 YEARS!!

Takes all kinds. All I know the JPF members I have come to know, including Brian personally, don't call each other names other than their call names.

All of the supporters for that service attack others they don't know. All Brian did was to ask questions. A pro who would want to do business, or to recommend a business to others would have answered them respectfully, no matter what words they might be silently thinking. That expression: "There are no dumb questions" comes to mind. In my 52 years, I have found that legit businesses are usually happy to answer any doubting questions, and to make sure a prospective buyer is well infomred,,,not called all kinds of names as if an 9th grader needing to flex some muscles.

Brian, they know not what they do. That's the real shame of this all. And if they do, then worse off are they than I thought.

Respect is earned. You earned it even more with this by keeping to the facts through all the personal attacks to you and your members. I am more proud than ever to be a JPF member, knowing the difference of what it means to be a member, and some people coming here but not getting a feel for things before presenting their case. To simple join by providing an email is only the start of a responsible membership. I'm glad 99% know that.

Odd that YOU would put LEGITIMATE in caps, let alone have the gall to even mention the word.

I notice, though, you didn't dispute anything that I said about the upload scam and the bogus charts and where/how they are created.

And for the record, I've had songs cut by indies and received royalties in the past five years, as well as publishing success in other areas, such as classic literature translation. I'm willing to bet that I've received more royalties in that time than some of your VP-for-VMG-plus-Look-Mom-I've-got-a-record-on-the-satellite-chart

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">How about just explaining it here so folks don't have to chase a link to figure out what you're talking about. If it's a great deal, it should be easy and straight forward for you to put into words and post here.</font>

Perhaps the url list below will explain your stupid question! But I doubt it. It's only the MAIN PAGES, not all the site, I assure you. For THAT, you have to GO TO THE SITE and FOLLOW THE LINKS! That isn't too much for your one retarded brain cell, is it?

You meatheads always want an expanded version of the Encyclopedia Britannica of every SIMPLE point, just so you can piss and moan about the 'hard sell' of 'so many words' - when anyone with more brains than a brick who is looking to make something in music and spent hundreds of hours honing their craft, doesn't have a problem of spending a few hours learning the REALITIES of the BUSINESS they're in!

YOUR problem is, they'll spend those few hours in SELF-ACCOMPLISHMENT rather than sitting meekly by while you and your fellow Idiot Elements - without a legitimate Industry Credit between you - hold 'court'. You can't afford THAT, can you?

The fact is, Recorded Music and Entertainment is an unnecessarily COMPLEX industry, thanks to KAK-lawyers! There isn't any one-switch-turns-everything-on. There are traps and landmines in every path, and only the damned fools hit them all, time and time again with their stupidity intact. And they longer they listen to the likes of you and your spewing crackpot Idiot Elements, the longer they'll stay out of this Best Of All Industries.

Let the spewing begin.

If this really is "the best of all industries" then what's with all the hostility? If you really want the industry to change then lead by example. Currently Fingers/V*G (et al), your leadership is by attack and hostility. To me, that's not very effective leadership.

I've read several people in this thread, including myself who have made money, gotten royalties and had a good time making music. Somehow this makes you angry because we did it without your V*G services or your V*G charts that you're attempting to peddle to us here.

If you seriously think that posting a bunch of well known artist names on a website, whom most of which are in the very same system that you/V*G are showing so much hatred for, gives you or V*G credibility then I don't know what to tell you. Obviously we don't believe you and instead of spreading more anger, maybe you should move on and attempt to sell your services somewhere else where artists aren't interested in protecting themselves by asking simple questions that don't get answers.

Brian, can we please lock this thread and let it go.

This business model claims that Program Directors worldwide have the time to scour the satellite network for wanted material...

And any wannabe with $50 can get his/her 'radio-ready' song uploaded to said network...

So... at what point do these alleged directors, assuming they have the time and inclination to scour said network (AND THAT'S A BIG, BIG, BIG ASSUMPTION!), throw up their hands at having to mine tens and hundreds of pebbles of junk material before any sort of diamond shows up?

The model doesn't work, guys... it's the very reason why most legitimate publishers and/or movers/shakers within the industry have a "no unsolicited submissions accepted" policy.

The TAXI model at least makes a bit of sense, in that they are being paid to screen material and only forward that which suits the needs AND MEETS THE QUALITY EXPECTATIONS of the people who are looking for music.

I'm inclined to agree with Marty here Jody.
Nobody is forced to read it, and it really is developing into a laughable, yet imformative string.
Not in the way it was intended I am sure, but them's the breaks.

Posting dozens or hundreds of links still doesn't actually answer any direct questions, which we ask everyone to do here when they are posting ads for services.

1. So, were you actually a Colonel in the active US Military?

2. Explain in words what you do, how you do it, how much it costs, who has gotten what specific benefit from it, and list these folks as references so others who are interested can do due dilligence and contact these folks for first hand verification.

That's what any legit business would be happy to do. As for all your links, I am giving you advanced warning that I am going to delete the long list. You are welcome to include one or two links to a site or a specific page, but we're not going to host hundreds of links to another site so you can increase site traffic. We don't do that for anyone. So you can edit your own post, or wait until later today and I will edit those links out for you. Your choice.

It's also nice to see that you learned how to use your own computer. There is no ability on our end to block an IP from visiting our site, even WHEN someone has been banned from posting. Neither was the case with you, even though if anyone ever deserved it, you'd be the guy (and may still be if you can't answer some simple questions directly here).

Gee Brian, I'd let go of Q#1 if you can get a decent response to #2 [Linked Image]

I did take a bit of time to go through their website

1) yes I found anti semitic references. Apparently "the industry" is all about marginalizing those not jewish, and making sure jews get most of the money
??????surely this is a distasateful allegation

2) I did find an impressive list of worldwide radio stations... not sure how they all tied in though. Best I could guess was that people who worked from these radio stations were supposed to be able to listen to, and download my music

3) I did find some good, solid, practical hints about the music industry.

What am I left with?

Your question #2

Being in Korea doesn't mean he was an actual Colonel in the military. To make that claim is at best misleading a sleazy and at worst dishonest and fraudulent. A bogus title given based on something other than active military service and given by someone other than the actual US Military is meaningless and to use it as if it's real is an insult to both active and retired military, their families and those who died in service earning those ranks legitimately. If it is established that Rob is using a bogus title to try and gain credibility for his other efforts, then people need to know he's dishonest and sleazy to start with so they can read everything else he says in that context. If, on the other hand, he earned a legitimate rank of Colonel in active military service and retired with that active rank, then that info should also be public. Don't confuse simply serving with claiming a false title. It would be illegal in the US Military to claim you were a rank you didn't earn, with severe legal penalties.

I also gave Rob advanced warning to edit his post and remove the long list of useless links. If he doesn't do it soon, I will edit them myself. He's had advanced warning. We never allow anyone, including sponsors or any other members, to post dozens of links promoting a single website. If he wants to post text from those pages which explain what he does, that's fine within reason. But any abuse of our site, by him or anyone else for that matter, gets edited or deleted. Always has. Always will.

Point taken Brian.
I was agreeing with John in that, an acceptable answer to the second question is of more value than the bloke's military carreer, or lack there of.
You don't want the links there, just delete the buggers Brian.
You pay the bills so do it rather than wait for The Colonel to get one of his army to do it is my suggestion.

Graham,

Well, I am giving him a chance to edit them. Because we all know he'll likely whine about being censored. He's already lied about being blocked from the site (which as everyone can see he obviously wasn't). I haven't bothered to delete or ban him because he's his own worst enemy here. He never answers a straight question and only attacks and blathers on with non-answers about anything. Nothing anyone else could say could make him look any worse than he makes himself look.

Minor jazz 120 BPM. With a swing.
Oooohhhhhh.
My finger's on fire.
Cause I got it much higher.
Up my nose.
Than never before.
And it went into the flame.
Of that lame old brain of mine.
So now I'm Cryin 'cause.
My finger's on fire.

Oh, why do I go meddling.
Where fingers ain't s'posed to go.
Why don't I take a hint.
And blow.
I would have used a tissue.
But that would have been a waste.
'Cause I was hungry and.
Like how booggers taste.

But thanks to last night's curry
My finger's on fire.

So, it's over? Finally? Sure did take a long time. Even took a long timre to read through it--about as long as it took to e-mail a song (which on dialup takes close to forever). Was an opportunity for some of y'all to practice your niceness, and I think you did real well--I lost patience with the guy (or guys--but was there a way to tell for sure whether there was more than one?) real early.

If you ask a person a question about his or her business and he or she responds with personal attacks, that's a person who ain't gettin' my business. However legitimate they are, an unprofessional attitude isn't going to increase business, and one is best advised to do the Monty Python thing and "Run A-way, Run A-way."

I did learn some things about Audie Murphy I probably didn't need to know. Thanks (I think). And that was a good song.

Maybe some might not have great music industry success, but just love doing their music, which at last count,,,,counts for something great! Love might be something that won't count and could even be made fun of by Fingers going by the attitude. Maybe there's problems not resolved from being in combat or something. Who knows? But in any case, I feel sorry for people like that, who jump on others too fast when just asked questions, or judge people on business success, or for not playing their game, and do it all with immaturity. Like I said, maybe there's a reason. Not an excuse, but a reason.

Because he {they?} was an ass of gargantuan proportions? Who knows, the stupid bastard had more monikers than Sybil!! A reason? Maybe like the grinch, his shoes were too tight, or someone took a dump in his oat-meal when he was young! Whatever the reason, we're done with his/her/their/sorry ass! On to the next Jerry Springer-like brawl!!! Can't wait!

Well, these VMG folks respond rather crudely, trading personal attacks for business questions. That tells me all I need to know about VMG. However, I would like to defend Kentucky Colonels.

The title, Kentucky Colonel, is given by order the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. One is recommended to the order. It is a true title, which members may use as legal address. It is not an active military title and holds no rank as such.

There is a humorous perspective toward the title. Of course, it is given as a favor and out of respect to many people. Some of the less scrupulous among us trade on this title for some kind of power lever in business. In reality, it is not weighted as a recommendation or guarantee, it is simply an honor conferred by the state. Humorous aspect notwithstanding, many of us proudly claim the title for itself, Harlan Sanders was proud to take title. It fit him well and legitimately helped him in his restuarant business as Colonel Sanders. Other conferees, such as Bob Hope or Dwight D. Eisenhower only rarely used the title, but took it seriously.

So, when fun is made of the Order of Kentucky Colonel, I find this a sad consequence of the lack of integrity with which some Colonels act. But what I find truly insulting is when someone calls themslef by a rank to which they were never conferred by anyone, active military, governmental title, or even social title. To give oneself a rank or title borders on a personality flaw.

So, if the Colonel in question is a Kentucky Colonel, he should proudly claim it. If he is simply called "Col." by his friends based on his military experience, he should prouldy explain it. But if he's using a made up title to trump himself upward and hold some form of power over prospective clients, shame on him.

All the Best,
Col. Mike Dunbar
(Proud member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels)

You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash

That was gross, in bad taste, and full of Schadenfreude.
