Divisive topics have pretty much been dropped on this site. Currently the only person repetitively drilling politics and Donald Trump is Rob. Why dont you take that to a site designed for it and stick with benign topics here?
ezpz.
But you can't. Well, honestly… it's been quite a while since I mentioned Trump in a song. Your claim that the only person repetitively drilling Donald Trump is Rob is simply false. Look at this thread and "Where Did The Music Go", Sunset. Who keeps bringing Trump into the discussion? Not me! By your own reasoning, shouldn't you be the one taking these political arguments to a site designed for them and sticking to benign topics here? 😉 You accuse me of being unable to leave politics alone, while you keep returning to the subject yourself. See the irony?

Irony?
I don't initiate political posts. I respond to them when I see them If they dont show up, that doesnt happen.
The irony, if there is any, is that you want to clutter this site with them freely, yet want to govern how I respond to them.

Sorry you and your friends could not compartmentalize the situation and speak objectively ....not sure I could either if I was so immersed and invested as the both of you
But sometimes these things have to be discussed. Silence is not an option. People have to stand up sometimes and express their disagreement.
Perhaps you take my disagreement with things this administration as a personal attack on you dunno...but it is not. The fact you voted and support him is entirely your right and business and frankly does not matter a wit in the big picture. You only had one vote that was added to others. Not voting at all is worse IMO.
You mentioned you do like a good political debate. So do I. Especially with those I disagree with because it sharpens thinking...and occasionally minds are changed when cogent arguments are made. I will remind you that you changed my mind on the need for your second amendment.
But somewhere along the way all points expressed disapproval were simply dismissed by you as TDS. Not even examined. No matter what happened. Your central pillar of support seems to be border security and crime...and anything sacrificed on that altar has become excusable to you...or so it appears to me. Totally willing to be convinced I am wrong.
Then as the situation became progressively worse as this administration's actions and rhetoric roiled the world, things became more heated here as we rebelled against US actions.
Now you want to shut that all down here because it interferes with your sense of what this site should be like.
I agree it would be nice if there was 100% focus on lyrics, songs, collaborations, honest critiques etc....this site was once like that and it was of great benefit to me.
But the world has changed. We are all vibrant, creative, smart and very much aware of it all. We cannot help but notice and respond to significant events as they unfold.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Not accurate. I've stated multiple times that I don't like every thing that Trump does.
I don't dismiss every complaint against him as TDS. It's patterning. When I see someone coming onto a songwriter site over and over again, all amped up about what Rachel Maddow said the night before, throwing around words like "fascist," oblivious to any facts that may tell the rest of the story, and displaying what looks like a neuroticized obsession...at the expense of cohesiveness on a songwriting forum, I consider that TDS.
In my view, Rob is that pattern.
As for you, not so much. At one time you seemed to fit it, but in the wake of your apology to Whitney for whatever you may have done to contribute to the divisions here and your absence from most of the political aingst here of late...I see you as a different personality than Rob.
Rob has a burning obsession to bring his truth about Trump et al to this songwriter site. Even if Ben and I and others don't want to see it here. It "makes Rob happy."
When I see it, depending on mood and available time, I like to speak to it.
