Kauai Songwriters Festival, May 16, 2026. Jason Blume, teaching at the Kauai Songwriters Festival. I could watch the light bulbs come on over some of the heads when I taught concrete tools to make your melodies their strongest. I'll share those tools in next week's newsletter. Happy International Songwriters Day!
Yes, it's a real thing. International Songwriters Day is observed annually on April 9th to celebrate, honor, and advocate for songwriters worldwide. Founded by industry professionals, the day highlights the creative work behind music, with April 9th chosen to honor the earliest recorded human voice (a folk song in 1860).
