“Come Together” is a heartland country-rock anthem about unity in a divided America. With gritty vocals and a small-town perspective, the song reminds listeners that despite our differences, we still share the same country and the same dreams. Come Togetherhttps://soundclick.com/song/15215956[Instrumental Intro] [Verse] There’s a crack in the sidewalk down Main Street tonight Two old friends on opposite sides of a fight Same bar, same game on the TV screen But the silence is louder than it’s ever been [Verse] We grew up on the same back roads Same church bells and radio shows Somewhere between the lines we drew We forgot what we always knew [Pre-chorus] We ain’t enemies in a war Just neighbors behind different doors [Chorus] Come together, hear the call This old house is big enough for all From the mountains to the sea It’s still you and me We gotta mend what’s torn apart America begins in the heart If we want tomorrow better Come together, now or never [Break] [Verse] A million voices shouting online But no one’s really listening this time Truth gets buried under the blame Every side just playing the game [Verse] But my granddad fought for this land Not for a party but for a plan That every voice could still be heard Even when we disagree on words [Pre-chorus] We don’t have to see the same To remember we share the name [Chorus] Come together, hear the call This old house is big enough for all From the mountains to the sea It’s still you and me We gotta mend what’s torn apart America begins in the heart If we want tomorrow better Come together, now or never [Bridge] Maybe the answer ain’t left or right Maybe it’s somewhere in between tonight Where a handshake still means more Than the battles we’re fighting for [Final chorus] Come together, hear the call This old house is big enough for all From the mountains to the sea It’s still you and me We gotta mend what’s torn apart America begins in the heart If we want tomorrow better Come together, now or never [Outro] If we want tomorrow better Come together, now or never Come together, now or never

Words... Feelings... No Truth... No Substance...
This from YOU? I'd rather kiss a pig!
Just my humble conservative Christian opinion...
I didn't bother to listen

I didn't bother to listen Words… yes, lyrics are words. Good catch! Feelings… yes, songs often come from emotions. No truth… sometimes truth in a song depends on what you're willing to look for. I even wrote: “Truth gets buried under the blame.” Is it from me? Yes — 100%. I didn’t steal it from anyone. “Kiss a pig”? If that makes you happy, go for it. Not really my thing. Your conservative Christian opinion? Fair enough. I respect that everyone has their own perspective. You didn’t listen? That’s a shame — you might have found something in it. The song is about people listening to each other. Ironically, you didn’t.

The song is about people listening to each other. Ironically, you didn’t. Lol... no irony at all. There's a preacher here in town, in one of those "Off Brand" churches. He's nothing but a motivational speaker in the name of Jesus. Walks around on stage whimpering with a Bible in his hand, but never opens the damn thing. You remind me a lot of him... Typical empty suit, virtue signaling Democrat. All emotion, no direction. You posted, I commented. You're welcome

You're welcome Tony, you’re commenting a lot about me, but this thread is about the song. If you ever listen to it and want to discuss the lyrics or the music, I’m open to that conversation.

Your lyrics are condescending, adolescent, and preachy. (Because I know you) There's no reason for me to listen.

Tony, your response actually puts a big smile on my face. My lyrics kind of predicted your exact reaction. The song says people should stop assuming and start listening—and you responded by assuming things and explicitly saying you wouldn’t listen. Your reaction perfectly demonstrates the behavior the song is criticizing. In simple terms, the song says, “Nobody listens anymore,” and you replied, “I’m not going to listen.” That shows me the lyrics are spot on.

Listen to WHAT? You're just regurgitating directionless rhetoric from CNN. The world is up to its ears in $hit and you're describing the smell. People want a reason to come together, Rob. What have you got? Handshakes and ball games? Seriously? What plan, Rob? What in this lyric should make me want to be friends with you, Rob? Why should I want you to be my small town neighbor?

What in this lyric should make me want to be friends with you, Rob? Why should I want you to be my small town neighbor? Tony, I hear you — you want a plan or a reason to come together. The song isn’t offering a political plan or asking for friendship; it’s simply about reminding people that listening and engaging with each other matters. Ironically, your response is exactly the kind of reaction the lyrics describe — assuming, dismissing, and refusing to engage.

ENGAGE WITH WHAT?!? Tony, when I say “engage,” I mean listen to the lyrics themselves and think about the ideas they’re expressing. It’s not a personal request for friendship or agreement — it’s about taking the time to hear a perspective. If you choose not to, that’s fine, but that choice is exactly what the song describes: people refusing to listen and assuming the worst.

If anyone else wants to share their thoughts, I’d love to hear what you think about the song. It’s meant to spark reflection and conversation, and hearing different perspectives is exactly the kind of engagement the lyrics celebrate.

These are the most difficult songs to write straight down the middle because you are trying to express your thoughts and how you see things and someone will always come along and say... "that's not right, that's not how it is"... which , as you said, is kinda the point of the song in the first place.
I will send you my other comments off board.
