DISTURBING!?

Disturbing is how the "Socialist Indoctrination System", mainstream media, the music industry, and video games have been fuk'n with kids heads for the last 60yrs (that I know of)... Yet, 50% of the population only wants to talk about Critical Race Theory, gun control, and pre-pubescent sexual identity!!!

STOP TURNING OUR KIDS INTO ENTITLED, DELUSIONAL, ANTI-CHRISTIAN, SEXUALLY ANDROGYNOUS, ANTISOCIAL PSYCHOPATHS YOU STUPID COMMUNIST A$$HOLES!!!

The United States spends nearly twice as much per person on health care as Canada:

2022 total cost per person
In 2022, the total cost per person for health care in the United States was $12,555, compared to $6,319 in Canada.

2022 percentage of GDP
In 2022, the United States spent 16.6% of its GDP on health care, compared to 11.2% in Canada.
Administration costs
In the United States, health care administration costs $1,059 per capita, compared to $307 per capita in Canada.

The United States spends more per person on health care than any other high-income nation. The average amount spent per person in comparable countries is about half of what the U.S. spends.

Medicare care pays 80% , but if something happened and a bill of a million bucks , that's 200k of debt .I've used medicare in a pinch , them bills aren't no fun at 20%. Yeah pills another draining expense .

High cholesterol and 2 pills for being crazy from Army shrinks , free . Not worth it really . I should have went to college at 16 years old , Not join the stupid army. CT scans free for heart condition . Not really free army charges me about $500.00 a year , something like that . Nothing compared to civilian health care costs .

"Physician, heal thyself. kinda Tony , it's work being sane . it's chemical unbalances. Mental illness almost always turns to anger and violence . But some people are so crazy they don't know they're crazy.

Like shooters .

Put it this way, the us is only considered a poor health care system cause of the cost.

It's so "terrible" that smart students from all over the world wanna come here to practice.

There's no hospital in the world you'd rather be but in New York, or similar metropolis.

Yes, it's bad for the consumer. I stayed 6 days and it caught my insurance 100k, and that didn't include "private contractors™

I developed a tremendous respect for health care workers. What they go through on a daily basis the long hours , the constant complaining, but the way they handle gross sights , blood, and majority have genuine concerns for patients.

Not just a job.

But with greatness comes premium costs.

It's insane, don't know how you balance it.

Me, Elvis, and Dom... maybe Gavin... just want to visit and do some fishin'!

Now we're talking . My dad was born in Moosejaw Canada. I don't know why the hell they came to San Fran in 1940 or so , money I guess.

Dom I have no problem with health care workers , But the cost is obscene.

Vet Hospitals treat me good, for the vast amount of volume they receive of vets. I wish they'd stop saying thanks for your service , Shite I was in trouble most times

No argument about the costs, even copays on medicines. Fuckin walk out of the pharmacy with 3 pills lasting 30 days 100 bucks. And that's not exotic meds by any means how much is this [naughty word removed] without insurance?

I think pharma is more corrupt.

And the lawmakers.

Most people who practice medicine do what they have to keep their license

The main reason our wait times are so long is because so many greedy Doctors that graduate here in Canada, and other countries, want to become millionaires in a short time, which they can in the USA. So as soon as they can, they are off to the USA leaving us in short supply.

You can always blame those rich doctors for the problems in our health care in our country, but is it really the main cause? I'm not on that bandwagon....It is one of the reasons, but IMO not the main one....an interesting statistic....35.5% of Cdns are overweight and 30% are obese...so 65.5% of us are fat pigs....that IMO is at the heart of the problem...think of all the diseases and health issues directly related to weight issues....diabetes, stroke, heart attacks, bypass surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, liver/kidney issues etc, etc... 1 in 10 Cdns has diabetes, a crisis????....the moment we decide to become proactive in our own health care, instead of reactive we will see a drop in lineups, IMO....the doctors are not the problem....we, the people, are the problem...so everybody...stop complaining and lose 50 lbs

It takes money just to be a doctor.

When you think basic college today costs about 25-50 k per semester.

So by the time you are done it's 200 to 400 k just to graduate basic college.

student loans, maybe you get a percentage of help, but it has to be paid back.

Now if you have ambitions if being a doctor, you're going to need double that, if not triple that ormore.

Same time, you will have no money while doing it, and where do you live?

If the answer is parents, well you better believe they have serious money to flip that bill.

Gone are the days where a student can get a part time job at Starbucks and support themselves

Bull [naughty word removed] not with rent at 2000-3000 a month

So then you make a salary as an intern, then go to work for another Dr till you get out of debt, which can literally be a decade.

Many work for hospitals , and never go to private practice cause of the cost. cost of a place to work, and how many patients you have to see just to break even , discourages them

Not to mention the stress of going through all that.

You either have rich parents, or you basically don't become a Dr.

Maybe if foreign you can study free over there, then come here to pass certs.

But we wonder why Drs become so money hungry..they literally are.

Steve

Reducing triage down to a simple algorithm is probably the most useful thing AI can do... But they will never allow AI to counter the greed of big pharma or the FDA.

Insurance companies and lawyers have been dictating medical practice for many years... AI is streamlining that process as well.

Doctors have always been greedy and proud a'holes with a god complex...
Now, they're just pissed!

It depends on where your statistics come from Steve. Using Statista, Canada's not even in the first 26 countries. Besides these statistics are impossible to measure. Too many variables. Depends on what they're using to compile the data. As far as successful surgeries... example, the surgeons they're getting the success rate from are either poor surgeons (more bad outcomes), or great surgeons (more good outcomes). I did know one Canadian that had to wait for 6 months for cancer surgery. And he had to travel 400 miles. Also, Canadian taxes are 52% higher than the USA. Most of which goes to their health system. As far as the USA, my wife and I have had great experiences with good doctors and great surgeons.

I agree, rankings are about cost...to consumers and access.

If you don't mind waiting 6 weeks for an appointment national care is for you.

We also have a lot of slum areas that bring our top end down.

But as I said, as long as your covered you can't beat the top places in new York.

Mount Sinai Health System
According to Newsweek/Statista, Mount Sinai Hospital is ranked among the best in the world for patient care. It was ranked number one in New York City for "World's Best Smart Hospitals 2025" and number one in New York City for five service lines in "World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2025".

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital
In 2005, U.S.News & World Report ranked NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital as one of the nation's top 10 hospitals. It was also the only New York metropolitan-area hospital to rank in all 17 medical specialties listed.

NYU Langone
NYU Langone hospitals have some of the highest rankings in the United States, and nine of their specialties are among the top five in the nation.
New York's maternal mortality rate
New York's maternal mortality rate is better than much of the country, ranking seventh for the metric.

Not to mention there are many Americans who never pay a dime for treatment.

So we have FREE medicine here, when it's not free.

It comes out of donations.

But cities in poverty who can't afford quality care skews the numbers held up by the top facilities and areas

It was Reagan who started the law that says no hospital can turn away somebody who can't pay

WTF!?
I've been battling with the VA since '92.

"ACTIVE DUTY" medical care is an entirely different ball game!
How do you think I know all doctors are pretentious a'holes!
"Overworked and underpaid, I'd be making 5 times as much money as a civilian! This $hit barely pays for my education!"

Trust me, Dom... Doctors only do it for the money and prestige. Even THEY laugh about the "Hippocratic Oath"...

All a doctor does is cross-check your symptoms and lab results with a list of most probable diagnoses, then shoot those results to his office staff to make certain your insurance will cover the treatment. If the insurance provider balks, then the doctor provides another diagnosis for you... so he can still get paid.

Not true. And yeah, I've been a patient of a number of callus assholes, and recently was roaming hallways and getting snubbed by some after making the mistake of saying good morning.

I know all about that. But there's just as many who do care. I had a prominent cardiologist weap when he told me my dad was gone.

He said, son never seen anything like this, I dint know if you believe in God, or not, but this one was out of my hands.

There are a lot of dicks too you're right about that.

But if you wanna be rich as a Dr you better be a highly specialized doctor, where you can get your investment back fast.

The basic Dr is not rich,vl and you'd be surprised how modest they live cause of debt.

But nothing wrong with getting paid well for your services.

Wed gladly take the money for our music if we could, while still loving what we do

You're missing the point...
What does a doctor's feelings or compensation have to do with his practice?
Medicine is just the statistical study of human physiology and chemical response.
Today, that information will fit on most phones...

All a doctor does is cross-check your symptoms and lab results with a list of most probable diagnoses, then shoot those results to his office staff to make certain your insurance will cover the treatment. If the insurance provider balks, then the doctor provides another diagnosis for you... so he can still get paid.

It's all a fuk'n racket!
