She was born poor abused by her father On playgrounds bullied on her weight Dropped out of school with no future She was laughed at on blind dates pre Eighteen years working at a gas station Late paramedics her pulse was taken Ch Heavenly Heaven welcomed Faith She got a halo and wings And flew away Saw Jesus in his glory God waved his hand She's in angel Disneyland Life handed out nothing but sad But Heavenly Heaven welcomed Faith v2 A picture of her next to cigarettes A Tribute of sorts of her smiling face People say ya never know who's next The manager said "She just got a raise pre Where's she at now no need for that" I bought chips filled up the tank Ch bridge Clocks keep moving We barley notice she's gone Nothing but memories Wrapped up in this song Ch Heavenly Heaven welcomed Faith She got a halo and wings And flew away Saw Jesus in his glory God waved his hand She's in angel Disneyland Life handed out nothing but sad As church bells on Sunday rang When Heavenly Heaven welcomed Faith
Acoustic guitar, bass, piano, strings, and a real drummer( Not that I could tell the differnce 2 hours mixing it, from a machine ) . And Layers of harmonies
This is a stunningly great lyric, Elvis.....the simplicity of the lines captured her entire life before you even got to the first chorus....powerful man....I love how you kept it simple through the comments of others....that’s how people talk....
love these lines
The manager said “She just got a raise”.....a perfect statement to capture the moment
and the response..... where she’s at now, no need for that...that is what someone would say
bought chips and filled up the tank....wow!!....life continues on
but the line I love the most....life handed out nothing but sad...this says it all
This is how to write a lyric
