Long time no see but some of you may remember, Mike LeBlanc on here. Well he sent me a lyric recently which I changed a little and put a vocal, melody & some tracks to it. Both of us like to do sombre so was a pleasure to do. Maybe you could be so kind to give us your opinion https://on.soundcloud.com/24z5PA Graveside Flower © 2023 Mike LeBlanc & Vic Arnold I've learned to laugh through the pain Only cry in the rain On a wish and a prayer let my life not go to waste I've learned to roll with the ages As I turn my life's pages While I am well aware I've reached the final stage And as my life comes full circle, I close my eyes My soul now possesses all the power And onward to that kingdom I know of in the skies And for you I'll leave behind a graveside flower For you I'll leave behind a graveside flower I've done the best that I could do Maybe not all I needed to My trials and tribulations now are done I've found the light in the darkness To shine when I felt hopeless I've seen my revelation and my heart and soul are one And as my life comes full circle I close my eyes My soul now possesses all the power And onward to that kingdom I know of in the skies And for you I leave behind a graveside flower For you I leave behind a graveside flower

There is a lot to like about this song
Really nice opening ...
great production...reminds me of Alison Krauss & Union Station
Excellent lyric
Perfect voice for the song's concept
Needs to get on the radio

Creators of music have a responsibility to their craft. When they have finished using all the notes and words, they must pass them down to the next generation with a simple request. “Use these to create new music.”...Steven McDonald

Thanks Japov. I love that you love it. A little different to what you normally do so I appreciate it.

Only in small pockets, Japov. Not enough of that type of musician to go around.

Love it. A real Bluegrass feel to this. The kind of stuff I hear a lot round here. I particularly like the fiddle fills between vocal phrases.

Hi Vic, I've listened to this song a couple of times now and honestly, I think there is not much that can be improved. You really nailed it. The instrumentation, the vocals, the songwriting... everything sounds so good. The melody and some of the lines get stuck in your ears the more often you hear it. Well done!

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
