When it’s your time/ Death Verse I think death is a tall dark stranger With a beard and hairy arms. He walks with the aid of a cane; Has a big black dog as his guard. He carries a bag with life’s secret He stole from a sacred cave. A spirit rose up to heaven When he rolled the large stone away. Chorus Good deeds aren’t going to save you. Money is a waste of time. You can be a pious man You can live a life of crime. Death doesn’t discriminate He takes you when it’s your time. Verse Beneath his cape there is a scabbard With a sword that’s served him well. He’s come collecting some taxes That the devil is owed in hell. As he whistles the trees start moaning. They bow to him in respect. He doesn’t want gold or silver It’s you that he’s come to get. Chorus Good deeds aren’t going to save you. Money is a waste of time. You can be a pious man You can live a life of crime. Death doesn’t discriminate He takes you when it’s your time. Verse He likes long walks at night in the park. His shadow’s a passing cloud. Sometimes he leaves his cape behind To serve as a funeral shroud. There’s a chance that you might have met him. Maybe even shook his hand. It probably wasn’t your time Cuz the hourglass still had sand. Tag Death doesn’t discriminate He takes you when it’s your time.
