Its not often that I read lyrics and know that I can't improve them lol, but in this case I know IMO that you got it right.

Really nice hook on the chorus and overall just nicely done. Definitely would like to hear with a full production. If I'm forced to give a suggestion, consider trying to make it a bit more universal by not directly saying "mid-life crisis" or mentioning kids. Maybe just "my friends" all thought I lost my mind. The idea is to make it appeal to anyone feeling burned out on too much work or materialism, no matter the age or stage in life.

Terrific write, very catchy . . . and nice performance. Tom Petty vibe to it . . . and someone else that I can’t quite put a name to . . . a 90s band sound to it—dunno. Ant has a nice suggestion, assuming you have commercial aspirations with this. And, yes, as strong as the performance is, I’d be curious to hear a full production. Excellent work!!
