UPDATE 3/7/17 Thank you so much for being patient with my response on this song and I really appreciate you giving it your time. I had a difficult February, I got very sick, lost my voice and it was a very long illness, as I was getting well I fell and got injured, so I've been a bit out of it and was also doing FAWM. I hope now that FAWM is over and I have healed that I will be back to JPF more, I appreciate your patience! Tammy I was lucky enough to have my friend Mike Birch agree to give me a few tracks and mix this song I presented one day in our Songwriting Group. He added electric, bass and cello and had to re-mix it a few times because I'm a picky pain in the back side and I am lucky he is still a friend of mine!! But a big thank you, he is a Muse member and hopefully I will convince him to join us at JPF, so if he shows up, give him a warm welcome! This is my lyric and melody, I am singing and playing guitar (acoustic), it was inspired by a spider in my garden and some past moments when I was a young girl when boys treated me badly. Something good has to come of it, but it is meant to be empowering, hope it comes off that way, but I haven't had a produced song in a long time because folks don't like to work with me anymore, so I really appreciate having this! I am currently in FAWM, please be patient with me while I juggle my time, you are my JPF family and I appreciate your time and comments and I'll get in here when I can! PREY on SoundCloud PREY on SoundClick Prey by Tammy Jann © 2016 I stepped into your garden in the dark and the smell of sweet, sweet flowers led me on each twist and turn's a lovely surprise and the beauty lasted until sunrise but then I walked into your web of lies chorus I was caught up and captured no longer enraptured by everything you say how many tales are you spinning I won't be one of your women spider, go find another prey you asked me to step back on the path apologies so sweet, you miss my laugh into your garden is where we went you want to share its beauty with a friend and I walked into that web once again chorus I was caught up and captured no longer enraptured by everything you say how many tales are you spinning I won't be one of your women spider, go find another prey

Good tune! "Spider" would have made a good title also. Nice work Tammy!

Good imagery in these lyrics, Tammy. The melody is haunting and has some surprises in it and the production is subtle and well suited to what you have. I was looking for the chorus melody to be a little more different than the verse but it was still compelling overall. Well done.

HI Tammy, Beautiful song and arrangement. Perfect, when the cello enters. I love how everything breathes, the tempo and dynamics ebbing and flowing with the sentiments in the words. Very good work Mike and Tammy. Mike

When I first heard Tammy play this (solo, just voice and guitar) I told her I could 'hear a cello'. That part was easy to do!

Mr. Tanner,
Always happy to see you and yes, that would also have worked as a title! I guess this song has some strong hook ideas!

Michael,
Thank you so much and yes, Mike did such a wonderful job at placing the cello in this, I was also over whelmed to hear the entrance of it, he did me a solid on this song and I am very grateful for it!!
