To be part of my Gospel Rock Opera, coming to a CD near you soon. Behold the Lamb ©2013 Steven M. Biederman http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12318984Behold the Lamb Hung high on a hill, who revealed All that's wrong, all that's right and what's real When the pressure was on sealed the deal Behold the Lamb Well known for his lofty ideals Who is love so He knows how it feels He's silk and steel He has come down And He's been crowned The only way back to the garden Behold the Lamb Sitting at God's right hand Behold the Lamb Who can carry your weight for awhile And then walk in your shoes for a mile Who carries a concealed smile Behold the Lamb Who will take any chance, dance the dance To forgive us when we have been damned He is God, He is man He has come down And He's been crowned The only way back to the garden Behold the Lamb Behold the Lamb Tempted just like us, He understands He has the world at His command He has come down And He's been crowned The only way back to the garden Behold the Lamb Sitting at God's right hand Behold the Lamb Who will take any chance, dance the dance To forgive us when we have been damned He is God, He is man He has come down And He's been crowned The only way back to the garden Behold the Lamb Behold the Lamb

This one really has a finished sound to it. Everything about the production is solid, from the lyrics and vocals to your amazingly tight arrangement. I especially loved the bridge here and the back-up harmonies. You're the man, Stevie. Very nice.

Stevie, this definitely has a "Godspell" feel to me--which should work well within the "opera" that you are pursuing. I really liked the melody.
One thing I might do differently, especially since it has the potential of being a stage song, is to think of how a stage "chorus" of singers would be involved with this number--at the end would be a great place for a gospel choir tagging and overlapping the lead vocalist. Nice job!

steady-eddie. That's an interesting concept, Eddie. I could only dream of having a full compliment choir behind this but it would sound great. Ray Davies, formally of The Kinks does that on his solo stuff now. He has his rock band behind him while he plays acoustic guitar and sings complete with a 65 voice choir behind him doing his new, solo material as well as Kinks songs. It is absolutely amazing. Thanks for the suggestion. Stevie

With open hearts, Behold the lamb, sacrificial, yet he rose again, Rose of Sharon who walked among all men, behold the lamb who will soon descend, as a shepherd to gather his faithful sheep, to a safer pasture where he will keep, all that's good from evil forever more, in the beauty of heaven's distant shored. Lovely write Stevie.~~~Matt

Hey Stevie
Nice groove....like the retro-style setting....Good VOX....
One "Quick Nit Crit"
I do have one line which left me shaking my head....Even if you explain it to me, I'm wondering if others won't feel the same way....
I personally like scripture mixed with creativity in CCM....I do it all the time.
However, one line I don't get at all...."He's been scammed"
I'm not sure this fits at all....Espcially since you so eloquently state His attributes...How can He be scammed? Unless He allowed it....but you don't explain it in that one line, so it is a bit confusing
Maybe you have a meaning of the line you intend or assume we would know it's meaning.....But "Scammed" in that "Crammed" line makes me go ......
Huh?

Huh? Hey Steve, Thanks for the listen and suggestion. The line in question actually had multiple meanings but I can see where it would be confusing to someone...so...I changed it to HE IS GOD, HE IS MAN. It does work much better and eliminates any confusion. Also I think it adds to The Lamb's attributes well. Thanks for the help, man. Stevie

Great melody and production on this. Can defo hear a choir backing this up to give it a full on stage sound though still good just as is. The chorus in particular stands out to me melodically.
Kudos on a top write.

Hey Stevie,
It appears I have missed a ton of great postings in these last few days. This is an Amazing production. Agree with all the other comments. This is huge and would work fantastically in a theatre production. It seems everytime I hear a new one from you I have a new favorite. Going to give this a second listen ... and then a third and a fourth. Loving the horns!
Dave

The choir idea seems to be prevalent for this one. Wish I could get a choir to do it but don't have one available to me. It would sound great though. Stevie

Kudos on a top write. Hey, thanks Allan. The choir thing is taking hold methinks. I may have to add some more voices to the mix. Stevie

Dave Thanks my brother. This will be part of a greater work to be performed on "stage" as a solo performance with the backing tracks. I'll have to see what I can do to give it more of a choir sound on backing vocals. I appreciate the listen and kind review. Stevie

Stevie, Man, you pulled out all the stops on this one. You gave it the full treatment. Even some Stax horns thrown in for good measure. And that drumbeat really drives everything along. And your singing is right there with the music. The lyrics are as strong as any you've written. I'd have to spend all day looking to find anything wrong with this song. You really put on your rock 'n roll shoes this time.
