Yeah, I think the "new speak" in music has killed the intrest and relevance that gentlemen like Simon and many other classic artists could bring to the table.

I agree a lot with Big Jim. Absolutely no need to shoot the messenger. Voices like BJ's, and the viewpoints he advocates are way too under-represented in the public, IMO.

I think much put out now is too slick, targeted too narrow to specific consumers, overproduced, and lyrics are too conservative and tame.

We need more soul, more improvising, more content and more cowbell :-)
