That five cents was backed by GOLD--Our money is a promise that someone in the future generations can fulfill the promise backed by NOTHING--Capitalism works on a hidden premise of smoke and mirrors--connected to growth of our ASSETS and the VALUE OF OUR TECHNOLOGY, with, and tied to our ability to MANUFACTURE THE GOODS! Inflation and time COUPLED WITH GLOBAL ENDEAVORS, have dwindled the DOLLAR down to 7.5 cents of 1955 MONEY--SO BASICALLY WE ARE BROKE!

Brian is right--It's all the generations of NEGLECT to fine tune AMERICAS' ENGINE and keep HER runing on all cylinders, that has us in THIS BIG MESS--

BIG GOVERNMENT WILL NEVER IMPROVE the needs of the people--TO MANY PEOPLE WAITING IN LINE FOR HANDOUTS AND PAYBACKS (GRAFT). THE WORKING PEOPLE -- MIDDLE CLASS--IS SLIPPING INTO: MIDDLE CLASSLESSNESS --ROME LASTED 400 YEARS--HOW LONG DO WE HAVE--AT MY AGE IT DOESN'T LOOK TOO PROMISING!

I'M TRYING TO FIGURE HOW I CAN AFFORD A NISSAN LEAF--ALL ELECTRIC….WELL…………IF WE DIG A HOLE DEEP ENOUGH, WE'LL ALL BE IN CHINA--CHEERS!!!
