Seems to me the guy is in the military.
Good vocals, good song. Maybe just a little too much vocal gymnastics in the first verse. I thought the lines
She's got a long way
To go it alone
just blend together to quickly. The piano chord at 0:33 (1st chord in the chorus) seems a little weird to me.
Good luck with this one, it's pretty good.
