Brian, good idea. I'll give you a few starters. I defined "music organization" as an association of *people*--in other words, I didn't include any businesses, even if they were music publishers or song-contest-runners. I also ignored Big Boys like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and NSAI, because I was sure other folks more knowledgeable than I would mention 'em. So some of mine may be a tad obscure. I also included one festival (run by an organization) and one organziation that doesn't have a Website (but there's e-mail). Here goes:

NORTHEAST OREGON FOLKLORE SOCIETY (NEOFS): www.neofs.us. Monthly concerts, also a monthly open mike & monthly all-afternoon bluegrass jam session. I'm a member.

Of the above, Soundclick is where I post songs that have been recorded (and I'll tell the guys and gals at MusesK and Indieviews); JPF and (to a lesser extent) "the WB" are where I post lyrics for peer review. The Muse's Muse serves the same function, but I haven't posted lyrics there--them kids seem so danged young. They do run a lot of creativity-stimulating contests and challenges that I do try to participate in.

As (and if) I think of more, I'll include them. Again, great idea. We need a compendium like this.
