Hi all,
I would have to agree with Jeff regarding the recording process. I don't know how much experience some of the members of our group have, but something tells me that there's this idea that we're gonna show up at Jeff's, do a run through, record the song in one or two takes and be home for the 11:00 o'clock news. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to actually 1.) decide which song we're going to record, Frank's idea or Dean's, and 2.) once decided, conduct a rehearsal/arranging session to decide who's gonna play/sing what...I mean, are there gonna be drum machine parts involved? If so, who's going to program them? Are we going to record electric guitars and bass? Or is this just a way to get together and do something that's in the "all inclusive" guidelines of JPF, regardless of the results of the recording? I don't mean to put any negativity into this project...I think it's a good idea, but one that requires a bit more planning if the desired result is to have something more than all of us not playing in sync, bad vocal harmonies, or out of tune guitars. I think this may be a two or three session recording process, at the very least. Just my .02
