Thanks for your input, Ben. 5-10 k is the average Pro artists pay per song to get quality musicians, production, mix/master...Sure, technology allows us to do it in home for far less. My point was that to get SUNO quality "musicianship", production value, innovation, collaboration, flourishes...from HUMANS in the current, dated model, costs money. And the biggies will gladly pay at least 10k and more to get their song the way they want it. Those who DON'T use A.I. tools in some slight or obscene way. Apparently A.I. technology has done more to call out "pure" artistry for their use of these tools in their song's creation than condemn those who use it openly.

The latest is that SUNO and BMI will partner up to help along the acceptance of A.I. created music by demanding proof of the song's creation (or how much HUMAN was in the song's creation) and compensate and credit accordingly. PROOF will be the key so saving your "idea", lyrics, keeping/saving your workstation files, flubs, stems, re-recordings, ideas, notations, mixes...will be important in proving just what part you played in a song if there is a dispute in the songs authenticity.

This is good for music in the long run and will, eventually separate the music that is more human than this prompt generated mass of crap A.I. music companies and streaming services are trying to purge. "Watermarks" will also go a long way in keeping everyone honest and protected.

South Korea's big music PRO has now FULLY embraced A.I. generated music, with a few caveats, but totally reversing their previous policy of 'NO A.I. ASSIST WHATSOEVER".

I, like you and most of us who have ventured down the path of creating the music ourselves, grass roots and building it that way, at home...scraping up for a session.....and those pros who've done it that way for years are rightly pissed off at a.i. generated music. It created a sea of crap with nary a human fingerprint except for the cringy title and a vomiting up of post pubescent word salad, ceaseless beats, pretentious lyricism, political bs, monotony melodies, experimental....
My lone recording studio venture was a small studio in New Braunfels, Texas, Gruene Studios, one song, one producer, my music, my lyrics, my guitar and vocals and he added some backing harmonies on keys, a drum machine and other minor flourishes. 800.00!! 3 hours of actual studio work and then mix/master about 2 hours. I pay 10 dollars a month and I did this from guitar to recorder, Suno arranges simple structure of the exact melody, I write a song over it, re mix, rewrite several times. less than 2 hours. Cost....about 30 cents when you break it down.

For years I've carried this song's Dmaj A Minor C G melody with me and played it routinely, knowing Id build a song around it one day. This was it. I played the melody on guitar, chorus verse into my phone, that file to SUNO..Suno provided a basic arrangement of that melody and I wrote this song at the SUNO prompt as my newly but simply arranged melody played a few times. Given I took a a relatively common progression and created a melody that is, now arguably mine, created a song around it in about 2 hour doesnt suggest Im a genius but that a.i. tech is a valuable, affordable and practical shortcut to producing quality ("aurically" speaking) listenable and engaging music.
