Yes, it's a real thing. International Songwriters Day is observed annually on April 9th to celebrate, honor, and advocate for songwriters worldwide. Founded by industry professionals, the day highlights the creative work behind music, with April 9th chosen to honor the earliest recorded human voice (a folk song in 1860).
