1940's Japov? I know there was early Country music back in the 40's, but I think of Big Band orchestra music and my parent's generation when I think of the 40's. Of course there were many solo artists, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, Gene Autry, Mills Bros.....(Mills Bros are from my home town in Ohio). Not sure how you see this as a 40's tune, but thanks for the spin!
steady-eddie Lol... That's it! Something about this chord progression reminds me of old "Big Band" music. Dom is right, that's not a bad thing

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
