I do not sing and I do not write lyrics as a general rule however in 2006 I did LOL. I remember posting this on a Board and a Lady suggested it was about child abuse. As a direct result I threw my Pen out of the window as this is about someone who had lost his family and lives in an empty home full of memories, I should add it isn't auto-biographical. Apart from today's circumstances another reason for digging this out of the bowels of my PC is the wonderful Tenor Sax break played by Alexis VAN Eeckhout who on hearing the track kindly agreed to play sax on it. Alexis no longer plays Saxophone and I no longer even have a microphone so any suggestions, whilst appreciated; will just not happen LOL. It is what it is, it happened and after this airing I suspect will slip back into obscurity. Here are the lyrics:

THE ROOM

There’s a room inside of my head
With a door that’s painted blue,
I try to keep it locked all the time,
But it’s so very hard to do,
It’s so very hard to do.

Some nights I just can’t sleep at all,
I sit in the kitchen and stare at the walls,
Then a hand reaches out with a key
And I hear a voice whisper to me,
I hear a voice whisper to me.

Come on in and don’t be afraid,
Sit on the bed where we once laid,
Hold a pillow and smell my perfume,
After all it’s only a room.
It’s only a room.

There’s a room inside of my head,
Where children are laughing as only they do.
I try to keep it locked all the time.
But it’s so very hard to do,
It’s so very hard to do.

and here is the song:
