Hi friends and folk.

I have been missing from here for a while now and hope to find some time to join in again soon.

I do miss it.

Helen, my soul mate has been suffering a lot lately and with a new job to cope with as well, time has become so valuable at the moment. in short supply lol.

Some prayers for Helen would not go amiss.

She got gangrene in her foot caused by blood clots in her leg and for a while its been touch and go between loosing Helen, or her loosing her foot. But thank God, the hospital have been great and she has lost her big toe on one foot but kept the foot and is on the road to recovery.

She also got the clots removed and arteries repaired at the same time. so that is a blessing.

She is off the morphine now so knows who I am and when I have been to visit etc, so that is also a blessing.

Mind you she has been real funny at times on the morphine.

I know many of my friends here have their own cross to bare and send my prayers to them as well.

I have missed you and my most hopeful thoughts go out to Helen!! She is a strong woman!!

Morphine is a tough customer, but needed. My son was on it and I do understand what you have had to endure, but keep your eye on what is important and steel your heart and mind through the fight and then you will both come back with new words and music to share with us!!

Take care and I hope you will both be back to normal in no time...well, as normal as you can stand to be...LOL!!

So sorry you had to go through that and am so glad Helen is better.

I was morphine for a while last year and I was seeing people walking past the 7th story hospital window. I was waking up and having conversations and then all of a sudden realizing "what am I talking about" or "there's nobody there!"

Thanks Tammy for your kind words. I count you as one of my top friends on JPF and yep Helen is strong. Her own worst enemy at times lol.

She pulls the drips from her arm at night and tries to walk to the toilet. But bless her cotton socks, she can't do wrong in my eyes.

Hi Roy:

I wondered where you've been... and now I understand. Gee whiz, that must have been a terrifying ordeal for both of you. Prayers are on the way and I'm relieved to know Helen is recovering. Use caution with Helen's withdrawal from Morphine. It is very addictive but I understand there are medications which make gradual "escape" a simple and effective way to get back to normal.

I'm looking forward to seeing you back here on a regular basis. You have been greatly missed. Be well and take care.

Wow, you both have been through so much, I'm so, so happy she is doing better..I hold both of you close to my heart...you mean so much to me...tell her I love her and give her a kiss on the check for me, please...I'm praying for you both, as you have for me..Morphine does nothing for me, doesn't even effect me...but I guess everyone is different, thanks goodness...

I'm happy to see you posting and will be praying for you both in my prayers.

I am so glad you made the tough decision to do what you did. We recently nearly lost my Grandmother in the same circumstances. She refused to lose a toe, then multiple toes and as it got worse it nearly killed her and she considered the option of letting it keep going, but sanity finally intervened and she lost her right leg above the knew and below, but now is doing way better than before when she had the leg. It's so good to hear you guys caught it well before any of that and it sounds like you're saying she's able to work still? If so, that's amazing!

Hi Roy,

I'm so in and out on here I haven't been able to keep up with anyone but when I come back I do look for you and several others.

You and Helen are a good pair, losing a toe is a big deflation but in the big picture, not so much. It's tough to let got when you are ready but even tougher when you're not. Helen made the right decision and we are praying fir both if you. Sanity is a tricky thing when it comes to ones own body.

Helen is now back home.. minus her big toe, but she is in high spirits, and following a week in rehabilitation she is starting to walk again.

Helen loves angels as well and fairies.

I can see over 30 as I look around our room... they are everywhere..lol

Helen is almost back to where she was before this all happened.. apart from her missing toe...

Just brought her an electric recliner, and it has become her throne..lol

Helps her get out of the chair...

I am so glad Helen is doing better! I, myself, have not been around these boards lately due to my mom's death and classwork. Helen is a strong woman and she is very blessed to have you in her life. My father worked hard and took care of my mother until her death and now he seems a bit lost at times, retired without his soul-mate there to share the time with. Keep taking care of each other and I hope to see you as everyone else around these boards soon.
