Been a while since I have posted here........ I see some familiar names...and see some that have passed to the great beyond.....time keeps moving along I suppose.... anyways...here's an instrumental for critique...or just something that is hopefully nice to your ears... It's called "Beautiful People"... No vocals yet...it's written as a male/female duet at the moment... It's at Soundclick..... Thanks.

Hey man, welcome back I doubt you remember but you commented on the first song I posted here, 6 years ago This really IS easy on the ears - nice and laid back. Cool chord progressions and nice playing too! I'm thinking a little light percussion might add a little. Sweet sounds..... Scott

Hi,
Nice to see someone who doesn't live crazy far from me.
This is very beautiful, would sound wonderful with nice harmonies. It is hard to tell at this point if the chorus part is going to be effective, it seems like it might need more instrumentation, but hard to say now, but I can hear this and sing along, very nice!

Thanks Scott and Tammy for checking out the music. I appreciate it. Scott, I truly do not remember 6 years ago....hell..I am lucky to remember 6 minutes ago these days.... I was thinking of adding some mandolin to this....arpeggios (trem) for the chorus especially...chop chords for the verse...and when I do I will probably add a shaker track and try a Bodrhan track also to see if it fits.... Tammy...I actually moved...I live down near the Cape now...but, my kids live on the NH border and I am up that way often...Merrimack is a nice place.. Thanks again.. Peace.

A very pleasant listen. I assume the lead instrument is an electric bass, although it sounds unusual.

Colin It is indeed an electric bass guitar. My 7 year old SX brand P-bass copy....best $200 I ever spent on an instrument....direct through a Mackie Pre and with a big hall verb effect.....with the playing style, it gives it an English horn (oboe family) tone.....it was purely by accident too..... made with presets in my DAW. Thanks for checking it out man.

I was really hoping for more input on this piece....I think it is one of my finer pieces and I am not really looking to get stroked.....I am actually looking to get kneed in the nuts for something....anything...... unleash the dogs of song...have no mercy.....take no prisoners..... flail the flesh....have at it.

OK,,,It sucks! And I haven't even heard it yet! But just imagining how bad it is going to be has me feeling sicker in the ears than I already feel from Chronic Tinnius and Hyperacousis! I mean, how bad must it be if I haven't even heard it yet, and I can imagine it sucking the dirt out of old, mad-cow's ears, never mind mine!? Hey Joe,,,,how was that for my right foot action in the OLD Boston groin for ya!? I worked out with leg weights before writing that! That's how bad it sucks! LOL! There,,,,,feel better? And I'm your best friend here! Can't wait for your enemies to take an actual listen to that hack of a piece klunker! hahahaha! Welcome back!

Be careful what you wish for. I did not like the electric bass at all. I think it may be a cool sounding instrument but used here it's ineffective against that beautiful guitar work. I do a lot of instrumentals and have had a few placements so I'm not a novice at it. I can hear so many things in here instead of that bass...acoustic slide/cello/acoustic lead--even working the volume knob on you guitar with a tremolo would be cool. You had the right changes at the right time frame so that's a plus. When I expected a change in chording it came. But at 3 minutes plus it's too long. It needed another different change in there, maybe going to the 4 somewhere. A great start, but without the right instrumentation to accompany that guitar work, forgettable. Zeek

Hi Joro
Welcome back !
well I like the unusual and the contrast between the bass and the classical picking -- kind of like 2 instruments with a very different voice speaking in conversation.. I'm also fond of out of the box indie works.
This has a nice mellowing effect on me and it's very well played and mixed. Thanks for sharing a different approach. jm

Zeek Now that's what I am talking about! Good input man...I appreciate it very much. I agree that the arrangement is thin and needs to be expanded...I have a violinist/contra bass player due in for a session and perhaps I can get her to lay down a track or two for me...and I have been working on a mandolin part myself..I might even get vocals on it in the future. Thanks again man.

Welcome Back BroJoro!
I, too, enjoyed the Calming Effect of the 2 instruments playing off each other...(Especially since we live in a Hispanic Neighborhood & they're currently firing off a LOT of 4th of July Fireworks at the moment...1812 Overture coming to mind..heh!)
DO let us hear the Next Version of this...it's quite pleasant listening..to this listener.
Good Luck with it, Best Wishes, & a Big "Welcome Back" Guy-Hug, Stan
