Many things in life need some form of assembly or putting together. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1103122Lyrics Some Assembly Required © 2010 Words & Lyric’s written by: Roger Sosnowski & Greg C. Brown Music written by: Larry Vannatta Verse 1 It’s Christmas Eve again, Got a tabletop tree and a dusty wreath on the door. My mind takes me back to when A thousand little toy parts were scattered across the floor. Lift On a cardboard box stenciled in bold, These three little words that left me cold: CHORUS Some Assembly Required. A handful of tools and the patience to do it right, Give yourself time, this could take all night. Some Assembly Required. You struggle and curse and you work till the pieces fit, Wanna give up but you don’t dare quit. Some Assembly Required. Verse 2 In high school, '94, My pretty daughter all dressed up for the senior dance. But her boyfriend doesn't show, And shatters her illusion of a perfect young romance. Lift First time in love and sometimes it hurts, Don't be discouraged, one day it'll work. CHORUS Some Assembly Required. A handful of tools and the patience to do it right, Give yourself time, this could take all night. Some Assembly Required. You struggle and curse and you work till the pieces fit, Wanna give up but you don’t dare quit. Some Assembly Required. Bridge Dinner at my daughter's house, First time in years both her mom and I are there. She says I can't take this broken family life, Please don't leave until we clear the air. Lift Make this love new like it used to be, Gather the pieces up, try them and see. FINAL CHORUS Some Assembly Required. I think I've got the tools and the patience to do it right; Give ourselves time, it could take all night. Some Assembly Required. We may struggle and curse but we'll work till the pieces fit, You wanna give up but I won't let you quit, Some Assembly Required.

Roger,
This has a nice catchy tune. I really like the opening with Christmas and toys.....
But I had a hard time making the jump from physical pieces to emotional pieces, but by the end I was on track with the idea.
Saying assembly as "Assem-ba-ly" comes over odd, I wondered if that was on purpose or not.
I wanted to kick it up somewhere in the middle a little more excitement to pull through, maybe instrumentally or vocally, but I do think it is a catchy tune and fun idea.

Hi Roger and Greg, This turned out very nice. I like the melody and who ever is singing did a fine job too. Two thumbs up! Dottie

Dang, this sounds pretty cool. I love this type of music. Story-wise, everything was was well put together -- but the bridge didn't seem to fit in too well.

Hi TAmmy, thanks for givin this one a listen. The assembly was actually sung differently in the original version but it sounded to rushed, so LArry opted with this one. I'm glad for the most part you liked it. larry's out on a Caribbean cruise, so when and if he decides to come back we'll run your suggestions by him. Thanks again, Roger

Nice tune musically and lyrically. Scott Campbell also has a song by the same name. It's really good as well. Interesting that two songs with the same title/hook can be so different. Good collaboration guys.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for checking out the song. Glad you liked it for the most part. The bridge just kinda played along with the "things broken needing to be put back together or assembled" kinda theme. Take care, Roger

Hello, everybody who has commented on our song. I've been a little MIA since Roger posted it, but I'd just like to say thanks for giving it a few minutes of your time. Your feedback, suggestions, and general words of encouragement mean a lot to us.

Oh yeah, I can't remember if I wrote the words and Roger wrote the lyrics, or if it was the other way around. LOL GB
