Sorry to post two songs in a week, but I barely post two songs in a year I remember back to 2006 after having an exhausting 2005 in the medical and financial department I sat down here alone and decided that I would turn to my music as I always have to help me through. I came up with the chorus of this song. It took me four years to finish it as I had a hard time with it and it's sooooo hard to write so opposite of how you really feel and what's really going on. Besides every time I worked on it and tried to sing I would get a lump in my throat,my eyes would well up, and I had to stop. Much of it is inspired by others, many of YOU here at JPF who have had such troubles with health yourselves and also those you love. I have read your posts.. Thanks for helping me so much in so many ways. Thank You for being hereI want to thank our own JOHN DAUBERT for helping me with it on the days he drove me into Queens & to New Jersey to doctors. Also John plays PIANO on this and Keyboard Cello's and Strings. Also thanks to Scott Cambell for pushing me to finish it. And especially to young Mina for singing it. My first complete vocal song in TWO YEARS! This is version two. I'll explain that below, enough talk For maximum enjoyment try headphones & close your eyes.... Right Here On This Earth ฉ2010 (version 2) - The miracle song 4:08 www.substudiomusic.com/RightHereOnThisEarthMix2.mp3Mina - Vocals John Daubert - Piano, keyboard cello & strings Mike Caro - Guitars,Bass,Synthesizer, Violin/Fiddle, Drum Program & editing, additional keyboard Right Here On This EarthWaiting on someday Well I'm running out of time It's the story of my life No one hears but I'm praying If I could only find the strength To put my world back into place You never know what changes everything For the rest of your life Chorus Miracles occur Right here on this earth... I believe they could Tell everyone you know It's there if you hope Like the one I found with you, Like the one I found You know that smile before you cry like a blessing in disguise What's taking me over When I'm looking at my life It's hard to realize This is how it is You never know what changes everything For the rest of your life Chorus Miracles occur Right here on this earth I believe they could Tell everyone you know It's there if you hope Like the one I found with you, Like the one I found Bridge Take your time cause it takes time To find a miracle Look at everyday as another day To find a miracle Don't ever wait in line, it's not something you can buy So keep holding on........... Miracles occur Right here on this earth I believe they could Tell everyone you know It's there if you hope Like the one I found, Like the one I found Chorus I believe I believe I believe in You believe You believe You believe in I believe, You believe, We believe in miracles I believe I believe I believe in You believe You believe You believe in I believe You believe in miracles Words & Music, Mike Caro ฉ2010 Recorded & Produced by Mike Caro

Oh, This is version two of the song, the first version is a bit more rock with soul, and was intended for a male singer. But when I tried and heard this vocalist's sweet pretty voice it felt more soulful and softer. So thinking like a producer I created a second version of the song. Now she fits it, and it has a style that SO MANY of today's R&B artist could easily do and relate to. So I helped myself in that regard in a big way. I am going to try a few more vocalists on both versions this and the original live drums one. Just want a stronger all around vocal, but this does not take away the nice job little Mina did. So it's not quite done! Thank You Again

As well as kick drum.... Modern radio, R&B, Hip Hop are all heavy on drums & bass. Ever be a light next to kids in a car and think how the hell can they be in that car with the windows up and that sound? lol Thanks Mike

Yes, Yes, very excellent. Thanks for finishing it and sharing it. I love the descending scale lower string part in the first half of the bridge and the guitar outro at the end (bringing it back down from the heights you take us in the song). I think her vocals could come up just a tad in the mix.
Excellent song.

Hi Mike..
Sounds like something that came out of Disney's studio. That's a good thing because they are very popular. The percussion sounds fine on headphones.
"Like the one I found" at the end of the chorus sounds like an afterthought. Doesn't really add much as it is sung. Everything else is pretty much perfection.

Thanks Mike And boy is there a lot going on underneath on this for such a simple song. That riff in the first half of the bridge on strings was in my head right from the start, the ending one which is GREAT was John Dauberts idea. He just played it on the fly while recording and nearly knocked me out of my seat. The out choruses are intentionally very dynamic so it just keeps building up to the powerful "I believe" section and then down to a whisper. I have other mixes were the vocals are a touch louder as well, I often do more than one mix. I have six for this one On the other version the cellos' are going to be even more upfront as well as other things. Mina has a soft voice period, so even raising the level cannot bring "presence: in her vocal track. I tried to set things behind her evenly. There are 24 tracks going off on this Thanks Mike Mike

Rick Hi Rick Thanks bro "Like the one I found" is totally there for rhythm purposes, you have to hear how empty and un-fulfilling it sounds with that line missing. What did happen though is she sang it without much conviction, just not the right zip for the part, the way we sing lines or a phrase or a single word.. are huge in a song. She went weak on that line and it's sounds a bit uncertain. But it's effective on that tight stop and very empty and weak with no line there... That is part of why I'm trying other vocalist on it and this version as well as the version one aren't complete yet. I WILL spend more time trying to find the right singer than some spend on a whole song. It may cost me hundreds of dollars trying to do that, but if I have 2 cents then 1 cent is going to my music at least Not sure what the Disney sound is But I do know the 60's and 70's R&B soul vibe and that's where this is coming from. Melodically and parts wise... The beat is now, but the core is old. Thanks, And good spotting on that section! Mike

Thanks Todd I say use headphones or something because unless you have a killer system hooked up to your computer, computers and there speakers sound like doody. The thing is we get used to them so it seems okay. At least with the phones you can get the spread and the separation. I was hating a mix one day, then my friend said lets take it out to my car with the old BOSE system. It sounded frigging awesome On the "message" - I figured songs about "miracles" are countless but there were zero for me lol... My turn! So I put a spin on it and used line & word combo's that I have NEVER heard before. Right off the bat with - Occur & Earth And my favorite lines "You never know what changes everything, for the rest of your life" Hey good or bad!
And stepping out an saying, "Tell everyone you know,it's there if you hope" Never heard that exact approach and it put that way Thanks Todd Mike

Hi Mike I've listened three times now, congratulations on finishing it, beautiful song, and Mia has a beautiful voice. Gotta go, I've got both kids sick with a real bad Vomiting/bacteria virus, and I've been off the last couple of days, so I'm thinking I might call in a doctor to do a house visit it's that bad. Theirs no way I would take this virus to a hospital, it's so contagious, it would go through the whole place. Hugs Michele

Congrats on knocking this one off, Buddy. And knocking it out of the park at the same time I hear something new every time I play it. Which has been more than a few times Can definitely hear Johnny's Beatles influence on the cello Scott

Which has been more than a few times Can definitely hear Johnny's Beatles influence on the cello Scott Hey thanks Scott With this finally in check I think I could move on to the other few I couldn't finish. Once that starts happening something new usually surfaces. If you listen with the headphones you;ll hear even more The bridge is very McCartney like so yes both John & I jumped on that lol... The first string riff was my ideas but that massive cool one at the end was all John. He also helped me work out some harmonies and made me anchor down on a certain singing note in the tough pre-chorus. When I get this straight I may take Blazetrak for a spin, I would gladly risk $100 - $200 - $300 whatever hundred on this song for a modern R&B artist. And they have them there, it's much smarter for me than going into my Rock, Alternative, Singer/songwritey, or Jazz Rock Funk Inst Fusion mode.. Thanks for help and support with this.. Mike

Hey Mike, Congratulations! You are officially On a Roll . I'll chime in with Scott on you knocking it out of the park, and with Calvin, on that great line he pulled out. Alas, I don't have headphones atm to listen (on vacation up in Maine!! ), but I look forward to giving it a spin when I get home. So nice to hear you're up and at 'em Mike. Happy too that you can tolerate the vertigo long enough to crank these songs out. Keep up the good work! Ciao for now, Beth

Mike, as one who's had his fair share of health issues, man I wish you well in every sense. Can really hear the emotion in this song and think I can see why it was labored through a struggle. As for the song per se, all I can say is: Lord what a hook, what taste, and what artistry in every way.
Best, Scott

Yes I am my own worst critic and my own personal terrorist. So I'm thrilled to get at least this version nearly done. This should help me regain some momentum mentally and confidence. Yes try the phones and you'll really get the impact My back & neck are trying to take over as the #1 problem away from my vertigo. They are really duking it, I wish them both luck in ruining me completely lol Thanks Beth Mike

Best, Scott Thanks sooooo much Scott, I appreciate it greatly. It is hooky isn't it? One day I might do one of my "Inside Track" on this song. That is where I put up a song in sections by tracks and talk about it on an audio or video clip and post it. There are hooks all over every instrument in here and sometimes soloing the tracks is the best way to show how it works for your song. Thanks man Mike

I commend you right off for pulling this all together in spite of your trials Mike. Well worth the journey because it's a great song, great singer, great melody, great instrumentation, nice groove, catchy and I'm on my 4th listen. Lyrically I offer a few ideas that kept coming to me came upon each listen. 1. Not sure if you should change your title to "Miracles"??? 2. In your Chorus I would definintely consider changing the 3rd line from "I believe they could" to "I believe they do" for a couple reasons. First, throughout your song you are saying for certain that infact miracles do occur (and they do) and when you say they "could" you are leaving room for doubt which is in conflict to your other words and leaves me somewhat confused. Also, the word "do" would rhyme perfectly with "you" found in the last line of your Chorus. It's a one word change that to me is the crux and critical. They "do" is more resolute! I also think the rhyme in the sing would be like ear candy for the listener in this instance. Miracles occur Right here on this earth... I believe they doTell everyone you know They're there if you hope Like the one I found with you, Like the one I found If you do change "could" to "do" you might want to think about changing "It's there if you hope" to "They're there if you hope" since "it's" sounds singular and "they're" would sound plural as in more than one miracle, i.e. miracles. Thinking on your bridge and wondering if that could be alittle stronger lyrically. They say to introduce new material into your bridge and don't use your hook in your bridge and I am hearing/seeing your hook as "miracles" not "right here on earth". I might be able to think of somethingfor the bridge if you'd like but I'd have to come back to that cause I gotta get to sleep now. But anyway you have something really good going here and Mina can sing (but then you knew that!) Check back later. Best to all, Lynn love the "I believe" being repeated and repeated as your outro!!

Hi Lynn Thanks! Four times wow, you;ll catch me soon lol. I have run this song past at least four or five songwriters and none of them brought up the points you did. I think all your points are very valid, and i;ll think about them for sure. My friend Brianna is most likely coming by tomorrow evening to give this a shot vocally. She is also a songwriter and I'll run this past her as well. Maybe have her sing two choruses one the original way and one with your suggestions. Lets talk about them for a second They're there if you hopeMakes total sense and fits the context no matter what we say before it good suggestion. What may have me uncertain is how it will sing, When I sing it the double They're there seems to come off with no hitch. Lets see when she sings it if it does. As long as it doesn't sound funny, because that's worse than ANY incorrect grammar or perspective when it comes to a song. However getting that perfect middle for both is the thing to strive for. They'll be three f us in the room tomorrow so deciding on how it sounds should be easy to figure out. GOOD idea! "I believe they do"That should sound fine... I do alot of internal rhyming and sound alikes as well. The "could" was a nice to my ear as sound similar to "occur" just the accent on the letter "C" Then "could" as a false rhyme for "you" see by the time you get to "you" you've already been hooked and hit with more exact rhymes and better soundalikes, Also whenever i can I try to avoid direct rhymes, when possible, ya know, But use them plenty as well. I NEVER want anyone to guess the next line or rhyme I'm gonna use Just makes life harder for me but what else is new lol. I often do this especially in crucial spots. Today I heard that old Hootie Blowfish mega hit, and just like the first time I heard it I cringed when he sings, It's crazy but it's true, I only wanna be with you" lol He writes it,it's a number one, WE write it it's toilet paper Anyhow I can see some confusion if you read these lyrics, but not so much when you hear them. Although your direct approach and continuity may be perfect.. I'll check it out. The lyrics is what stalled me on this song, foor all these years. Title - "Miracles" Never, ever, lol I already want to hang myself for evening using the word in a song or having a song about them lol. The fact that I NEVER had one in the past is the only reason i let this slide, and I thought my lyrical spin and approach in 80% of this was not redundant or over used or even ever used actually. All except, "The one I found with you" the only thing worse would have been "The one I found IN you" Boy do i despise this line and If I could change one it would be that!!!! Tired!! Right Here On This Earth - was the only other line I thought usable. If i could have thought of a title that was not included in the song I would have. But I'm terrible at that Alternative & rock bands are very good at that... The Bridge - Ah my favorite design, I wouldn't change a thing in there, I love the playing of the double words - Time & Time - Day & Day The meaning is perfect and the complete change up in meter and approach is what i strive for. Somebody will walk around singing that bridge and say which song is that from??? Just like I do when i hear ANY section of "My Girl" by the Temptations the parts are so different and they all stick in my head. And i always think there different Motown hits.... Sing em - - "I got sunshine on a cloudy day When it's cold outside I got the month of May - "I guess you'll say, what could make me feel this way" - My girl,my girl,my girl Talking bout my girl My girl All that said I'm still wide open for suggestions! See how I torture myself? lol Thanks Lynn sooooo much for this help, I will check that stuff out tomorrow nite for sure. Great stuff Lynn I appreciate it.

Hi Mike,
Would love to get the "inside track" on that aspect of writing/producing. Just my two cents on the chorus. I really dug the "believe they could" because I thought it captured the tension of belief and doubt better than any other word I could think of and by pitting the sentiment "I'm running out of time" with the definitive statement "miracles occur." The hope lies somewhere in that tension. OK, I'm pulling off my psychologist's hat now : ). It was cool the way Mina enunciated the word, too. It really worked for me, if the tension was something you were going for.
Best, Scott

Very nice, Mike & Co,
I just love r&b in this style. Feels real and organic, like it should. Nice positive vibe too, singer sounds very natural. Definitely could be a song on her album, I would think.
I really dig the verses and the lift is great, but if you will be pitching it, I think the chorus is not big enough. There's not that much contrast IMO, so I would have preferred a more open soaring kind of melody for the chorus. I suspect your singer can't do that, because of her age/range. So, I would consider rewriting the chorus melody, to make it bigger, allthough it sounds very sweet as is.
But it would depend on the target markets and the artist, of course.
But, lyrics, performances, production ect. just sounds awesome! You guys are PLAYERS!

Best, Scott Oh wow, Briana who sang this tonight said the same exact thing you did When I asked about the possibility of saying "do" That is too much... "could" has exactly that, and the magic of "anything could happen" it could. it's "possible" Also they voted against "they're there if you hope" just based on the sound of the double dar dar effect. But I love that Lynn spent the time and energy to suggest these I did try it out and I'm grateful. ALL good suggestions and smart thinking.. Yes I may do the inside track on this one, hopefully once I get it set on who the final singer of version two will be. Thanks Scott Mike

Thanks so much Mags I'm still working on which vocalist to use as the final final. I wouldn't change the chorus at all, the music is the same as the verses so the similarity is gonna be there but the melody and phrasing is nicely separated from the verses. I understand what you mean on the chorus. I love the melody of the chorus, it's what i built the song around and what puts the lump in my throat when trying to sing it I'm not feeling a Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" type of chorus for this one, or sensing that vibe. It's a much more subtle melodic chorus that follows a pattern and rhythm like say - "I'll Be There" but a tad more intricate, still simple though. A little sweetness... Non of the girls have been really really able to belt the chorus, It's written in my range mostly.. they all want capos' today lol and I tried not to mess with capos due to tuning issues. I thought "D" would be high enough for them as well. Also non of them are R&B singers, they have great voices and great ears and pitch, and Kacey is extraordinary. But she just turned 14 and she has never heard, classic R&B singers or songs. I'm doing the best I can to find the bets singer for it, it's costing me time & money to do so. But what else is new? It was meant for a male singer. That will be version #1 I would love to say, well let "them" find the artist but we know we can't leave anything to them to imagine. Most modern R&B hits don't use a big range, It's like they wnat anyone to be able to sing them, and it's sounds that way I may even be too vast on this with this bridge and with what the SIX different melody sections of this song. Verse 1 , Pre-chorus , Chorus, Second verse new melody, Bridge, Tag - the whole "I believe" section even the bridge has a whole second half where the whole things shifts gear.. These girls here are killing themselves trying get this one right. I bet anything there are star singers out there right now who couldn't nail it either. It may not be simple enough! We'll see Thanks man Mike

Well Mike to be honest I had a hard time reading the lyrics I kept getting something in my eye while I was listening to this. I kept thinking if there is one person who deserves a miracle it is you. You are so helpful and positive to so many, Karma owes you a good turn. I lost my health when I was about your age, you are about thirty right? And I got it back. I won't bore you but I am praying for some good luck to come your way. Tom

I won't bore you but I am praying for some good luck to come your way. Tom Hi Tom & Thankyou The problems just continue to get worse it's only how I react is what I try so hard to work on. All day and night either a combo of or all together - nausea, tipping sensations, dizzy, extreme stiffness neck & back, pain, weakness. In my video here Flight 74 I was able to pull it off because one I'm never standing in it,aways seated. I can not sit up straight for longer than 10 minutes at times so the clips are ALL short. And I wasn't nausea when I did it. That weak sick feeling is harder for me than pain & stiffness. Anyhow 30? you aren't even close off by 16 years lol. My problem started when I was about 32. Attacks of dizziness, weakness turning pale and being taken to the hospital from work. It just got progressively worse with less & less recovery time year after year. So going on 14 years of this problem with no answer at ALL... As if the music business wasn't hard enough I appreciate the thoughts and prayers Tom. My last doctor #48 was kind and sympathetic said, "well at least it's not life threatening" I said "yes I thank God and know there are people worse off". "Actually it's the next level down "life altering" I told her "You have no idea what it's like what I have lost and what it's cost me" It's like being crippled except your off balance dizzy and nausea all the time... And you CAN"T Rocky through that crap! Thanks Mike

Hi Mike, This is super. I know you said you wanted a more dynamic singer but there's something about a softer, lighter touch that can be so powerful. It's part of that less is more, or, when you whisper everybody listens. Just my opinion, but I hope you find what you're looking for to wrap this up. You're OK, Mikey, I don't care what they say about you! Ricki

Great job Mike! It was my pleasure to work with you on this. Your song blew me away when sitting in front of your console. It's one of those songs that just feels so good and musical, that it lends itself to ideas of harmonies, and the parts I played. (The song made me do it)! Thank YOU for allowing me to play on this special track, and to even take some liberties. Was a very fun and cool learning time recording with you. Always is!
We all either have songs that speak to us or not, when being asked to work on something. For songs like this, the great work was already done. The added parts are like catching a perfectly thrown ball. How can ya miss!?
Congrats Mike! Best of everything with this one. Get er done!!!

You're OK, Mikey, I don't care what they say about you! Ricki Hi Ricki Thanks you :)I agree with you, Mina is why I made a new alternate version. The song has this seemingly weakened person a little voice kinda crying out. That is why so far after 3 singers Mina's is the keeper. It fits the song in a way and she is soooo sweet sounding. There's desperation in her voice. We're gonna try a full grown R&B singer just to take everything into consideration. There's sometimes two ways too think, and to pitch 1- A nice voice that delivers all the melodies correctly and shows you the song and it's potential. So that the singer or artist or publisher or mamagment you are submitting say "Boy WAIT till I sing this"!! 2- Put a vocal on there that makes the song as good as it gets, and blow them over best you can. Whatever puts it in the best possible light,,,Whatever sells that song! #2 sounds like the way to go. Yet I think of ALL the singers I have ever known especially (singer only) artists. Very sensitive with ego issues... Upstage them and they turn away from you. Then figure there usually about 18-24 years old lol So who you are submitting to matters alot... That is another reason Mina is really working well with it. Lets see, i just need to hold up over here, Even I can't believe how bad I am feeling Thanks Ricki

Hey John This song wouldn't have made it out without you So thank you. The other version is going to be a male vocal and I may do some filming for it, if I'm up to it. So I definitely want you in that video, besides needing and wanting help from talents like yourself I'm lonely being in video's all alone lol I have a new doctor #48 She was very nice and listened and she was thinking outside her OWN area of medical training. This arthritis doctor is the FIRST at least to say "Yeah that makes a lot of sense that your troubles are connected, I agree"Not taking her muscle relaxers they don't work... So more blood work is coming, and I started that Glucosumine/MSM program you suggested several times Thanks for EVERYTHING John.. Hope to see ya soon. Tripp sent some emails from you I have to locate. I keep replying to MYSELF whenever something is forwarded to me LOL Duh!!

Thanks Michele
When the kids came over to work they were naming artist/singers that they said it would be perfect for.. I knew NONE of them, that is ALL a good sign lol...
Your song sounded wonderful, people like it!! I wish you the best.

I just listened to your song and it is very moving. Great lyrics, smooth vocals, outstanding composition. That's my opinion. Below is a link to my newest remix. Based on true accounts in my life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMjaULeMMLQ Hi Wyatt is it? If so can you have a cooler name?? Nice to meet you, thanks so much. I poured alot into this tune as I usually do with all of them. I checked out your song,I really really dug it. It had a GREAT FEEL and on top of being good, catchy and well crafted it is VERY contemporary.. Perfect for today!! Perfect! Everyone did a great job, love the backing vocals. It's probably mixed already but if you have an alternate or are going back for any reasons. Make one with the lead vocal a tad louder, there a few spots where out drops and i can't make out the words, I like vocals to sit in the mix as well personally but pitch wise it's good to a mix or two with it a bit more out front. The song is so big so in few spots only it can use that boost.. I'm looking for a male vocalist to hire to do another version of this song "Right Here On This Earth" If that's you singing, which i think it is, you may be someone who can nail this. It needs range and you have that and it needs "soul" and you have that, it needs a bit of rock and roll and you have that... lmk if it's something you might be interested in perhaps... Thanks GREAT song, super radio friendly. Would like to hear your others as well... Mike

Mike..Making a comment on your production is akin to telling Picasso what colors to use in his paintings...I just listened in headphones...if I heard it on more expensive monitors...well I'm sure it will be fine...lol. At my age, my ears aren't what they used to be...

He is the best outside ear I know of all around. He heard everyone and said without a DOUBT Mina.. just like you lol He was so freaked out & excited by this song hearing it the first time tonight, he's made me made CD's and he's taking it to Sony tomorrow... So another big fat NO is coming soon... but it won't be the songs fault that we KNOW for sure... Peace Mike

Larry my friend and i were still trying to make things better tonight, lowering the vocals in the pre-choruses, adding a more solid cymbal on the the first hit of the last two hits on the end of the bridge, etc.... He hasn't heard the tune finished and was just blown away by it. It's hard to blow away people who have been listening to you for 28 years.. We're still punching! Thanks your too kind... Mike
