Hi Guys..any recommendations on a decent free file transfer that can handle wav files? One that is easy to use and won't run out so quickly..like you send it??
I just need to send wavs. from time to time and it either locks up on me...as one has 4 times since yesterday...or they are hard to figure out how to use..
any suggestions?? Kim

Kimberly, I've used yousendit for at least three years and never had to buy anything. The trick, I think, is to not look like one of the people yousendit makes their money off of. Where yousendit makes their money is from people who have to send multiple files at one time, or a file or files to more than one person; they charge for that. But if you're not one of those, the service is free. I just make sure I'm not "one of those."
It hasn't often been a hassle. When I sent the tracks for Beth Williams' "Broken Record" album off for mastering last year, I sent each song--all *.wav files, and pretty huge--off separately, in batches over a couple-day period. The guy who did the mastering sent them back the same way. And I never got asked to buy anything, or got charged for anything.
As far as dependability goes, I haven't noticed any problems--but maybe I just haven't used the service enough. It's good to know there are alternatives, just in case. Thanks, everybody.
Joe

MediaFire is another possible option with their free service allowing 200MB file sizes with unlimited uploads and downloads. Badongo is also a free alternative with, a 1 gig single file size limit.

I have only used it a few times but it expires like every 2 weeks and you have to sign up again with a new address...gets old...:) It hasn't often been a hassle. Hi Kim just for info...... Dropbox offers 2gb of free storage and uploading. Files can be shared just by one click and completing email details of who you want to share the file with then an email is sent to the recipient inviting them to download the files you want them to have. I used this system when swapping files with Taylor for Without a Trace.
