Wow.......what a gentleman and what a most deserving lady.. I am sure that the gift will be put to great use.
BTW...Did I say that I could really use a Roland workstation or a Ketron Audya keyboard.

Bill is an angel on Earth, posing as a human being. He had seen Glyn in the shout box wistfully wishing she had a guitar, and decided he had an "extra" he could give her. He's just a wonderful, generous, thoughtful person. For those of you who don't know Glynda, she is a really wonderful woman with a heart of gold. A lot of her life has been severely hard and she's experienced her share of tragedy. She deserves every nice thing that comes her way, as she has always done for others. I'm tearing up myself. Glyn is a courageous and very hard-working woman, she even went to work while she was going through chemo! I'm happy for her, I'm happy to see her smiling. Love you, Sister G!

Ok Guys Let's not get all gushy here. Gonna ruin my reputation.
Glyn I believe what goes around comes around. I also believe in paying it forward. Enjoy the Guitar it will hold up well. It will play well. If I can play a clean C Barre Chord at the 8th fret I consider it ok. A little history on Lyle Guitars. Lyle Guitars are rare guitars and are considered by many to be collectors items. They are well made and play well. Manufactured for a short time in Japan during the 60's and 70's. The Only Distributor of Lyle Guitars was a company in Oregon which, I believe was owned by Gibson. Many collectors claim the Lyle Guitars actually play better than the Original (mostly Gibson) models they copied. I don't know if that's true or not but the one I sent you plays pretty well and I think has a very good tone.
So enjoy it and don't let anyone tell you it's a cheapie because they never heard of the brand. I'll be looking forward to hearing your first song.

Bill,
That is so cool. Great job my friend. Congratulations Glyn. I too believe in paying it forward. Today I found a family of skunks in our backyard and I have boxed them up and sent two to each of you. Hope you enjoy them.

You are very welcome Glyn. My only concern was it got there in one piece. I tried to pad it well. BTW the strings were pretty new so you're OK for a while. They were on the guitar for a year but without tension on them. I tuned it before I sent it.

What a nice thing to do. I should brag about Tom Franz too. He sent me an Ovation guitar, real nice one. Wouldn't take anything for it, would not let me pay for shipping. I tried to talk him into trading my parlor guitar but he wouldn't do that either. That would not have been a good trade for him, but I wanted to do something in return. In the end, I took the guitar and still feel guilty and unworthy.
Bill, you're a great guy!

Brother Bill, I love you man! This is the coolest thing I've heard of in some time. Can't wait for God to return the favor to you, though we'll probably never hear you mention it. He doesn't let these things go too long without "repayment." Keep on making Him proud!!! Stan

Don't worry Bill, I still think you're a crusty old fart. Lyle guitars are really wonderful instruments, and they're all nicely aged now and getting better. What a great gift, and what a great thing to do. Hats off to you, Bill!

I know, Big Jim. I was thinking I need a Coach or Dooney purse. Bill is so sweet. It has made Glynda's year. LOL! Love it.

LOL, Marc! Don't send anymore skunks to Texas. They don't need anymore. Half the skunk population was lying dead on the side of the road last week. The whole state stunk to high heaven.

Bill, you're a great guy! Wendy Accept the Gift without guilt or feeling unworthy. Mr Franz certainly believed you worthy. The joy is in the giving. If Mr. Franz wanted something in return he probably wouldn't have done the giving to begin with. I commend Mr. Franz for his generosity. But it is no hardship to do the right thing or to share your own good fortune. I was fortunate to have an extra Guitar and Glyn needed one. It's that simple. I'm no hero, no angel. Just a guy with one too many guitars.

One of my favorite songs of all times is "Chain Of Love" sung by Clay Walker. It is something that was drummed into as a child when my father would always stop for any car by the side of the road to see if he could help. It is wonderful to see the love here.

If only TOM TRACY thought like that! I have given away a few guitars and repaired ones for free for families that I knew could not afford it. It's a great feeling helping others out like that. I'm in a much different situation now, and without boring everyone with details and hijacking this thread, I'll leave it at that. Being in that position, I'm sure Bill enjoys it just as much if not more than Glynda.

It is more blessed to give than to receive, as the good book says. Bill just put this into action, good for you Bill. Now Glynda, you HAVE to learn to play so the gift becomes a gift to others.

When the extra stars are issued for those deserving a crown up there... Bill Robinson will be somewhere near the front of the line. What a thoughtful and endearing gift.
As someone else has said... things like this are what make JPF so special. Really special!

glyn: Three chords and the truth! Guitar (and music ... and life) is an up and down journey with victories and failures. All you need to know is that if you practice 15 minutes a day for the next year, you will be as good as you will ever need to be.

You said yourself on here, that you had "Guitar Acquisition Syndrome" and could never have too many guitars (as opposed to Bill saying he had one too many guitars). Get over yourself already.

Oh Polly I see what you mean , he can never have too many cause he loves them... I use to be like that with boots, I had boots of every color...probably about 40 to 50 pairs...really I even had boots that were discontinued or where like leathers they had experenced on but didnt work out...anyway i moved and forgot to get them out of the closet, was saving them for the last thing to get, then forgot them and it was like a 12 hour drive...so I lost all of them.....so I can understand how he feels, can't get enough of them....anyway..just thought i'd say that..glyn
