I'm just northwest of Charlotte; between Mt Holly and Stanley.

Well, I'm up in Reidsville. Can I still use this forum? It's closer than Wilmington I just moved here from Hampton, Va. over by Va. beach. Our message board was last updated in '07. Needless to say, not many JPFers around there. There are places to play around here though (I havn't checked them out just yet), unlike in Hampton. Not to mention your message board has only gone four months without an update, rather than three years (so encouraging!). Even though it looks a little blank...

Okay guys! And anyone else who would like to know! So far, I've found two places open for anyone to play at. One is in Eden at a place called the Barn on Gant St. the second tuesday of every month. They mostly do bluegrass music and I'm pretty sure you have to make a reservation if you want to play (though they do have open jams sometimes). Lemme know if you want their phone number. The other place is on Market St in downtown Reidsville, a coffee shop called the Backstreet Buzz, and it is quite a groovy little place. Just talk to the manager, Dave, and he'll set you up a booking. You can play anything! Well, that's all I got for now.

Most folks probably already know about the open mike every Monday at The Evening Muse in NoDa. There are a few other places to try your stuff out on unsuspecting audiences.
Monday night's at Harvey's in Huntersville - nice little open mike from 7PM - 11PM 13812 Cinnabar Place, Huntersville, NC 28078, (704) 947-5080
Wednesday nights at Summit Coffee in Davidson - nice open mike in the second floor listening room from 7PM - 10PM 128 S Main St, Davidson, NC 28036 (704) 895-9090
Thursday nights at The Bathtub Gin in Mooresville - open mike and songwriter showcase (there's a feature artist each week, open mike before and after) - 166 N.Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115, (704) 658-0958
enjoy
My mileage always varies

I'm here near just north west of Monroe, south Charlotte I guess. Can you tell I wasn't born in these here parts? Hoping JPF can help me connect with other mature, singer/songwriter/artists. Cheers! -Don
