We're ALIENS! No wait, that wasn't it! Anyone who was witness to our "drinking contest" in the shout box last Friday night, obviously enjoyed some amusement, but what spouted from that was an unbelievable connection. At the end of our drunken conversation (NEVER take on a Scotsman in a drinking contest) I asked for his phone number and we spoke by phone. The next day, I tried to call him...wouldn't work. He called me. The following day, my phone company said that my call to him was IMPOSSIBLE as I'd always had an international block on my phone service. Not only that, but the number he gave me was not altogether correct the way it needed to be dialed to go through. It still had gone through! Divine intervention? Anyway, we have been inseperable ever since, phoning, e-mailing, sending pics. The morning after our "drinking contest"...I held my breath...seeing if he would e-mail me. He did, and asked if he could call me. I knew, right then, we were on our way to falling in love. I knew from the first time I heard his voice, that I was "home". We have enjoyed such an awesome week getting to know eachother. I've met my twin soul, and I posted it here, because we met HERE, in the shout box of all places, and we are ecstatic! I am flouting on a cloud, smiling wherever I go, every love song I hear pertains to Andy, I fantasize about him all day long. At night, I hold my pillow and pretend it's him. I've never experienced this ever, in my whole life, it was an instant connection, so strong (in sober conversation, mind you) we have like, a MILLION things in common. It's just nuts! But I hear his voice, and I melt. An ocean is nothing to us, we are together spiritually and emotionally. So, Andy is coming here for two weeks in July and don't panic if he doesn't post right away, because I'm going to keep him occupied, iffin you know what I mean *wink, wink* and I'll consider letting him up for air after a couple of days! I do know, once I wrap my arms around him and gaze into his beautiful hazel eyes, I'm not going to ever want to let go. I just thought this was a fitting place to post this amazing connection, as we met here, neither of us looking or expecting anything, and we are both just FLYING! Oh, we'll play a couple of acoustic gigs together while he's here on his visit, and we're coming to Nashville too, so anyone who wants to get together, let us know. I've never smiled this much in my whole life!

I have never known a woman like this in my life. I am so in love with Polly it hurts.
I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with her.
So well done JPF
although for those of you who kno wmy music I doon't think I will be ever able towrite a sad song again

How cool is that? Right about now I'm guessing you've got about 90% of your readers probably thinking you're both whacked out of your minds. Not me. I met Teresa in May of 1990, at a time when we both were DONE with worrying about lovers. But, blammo!, we connected. I proposed to her three weeks later, in a tree, at midnight. A few months later we got married on the run, in San Francisco. We've been fools in love ever since, and the spark is still there. So, I think you're both whacked too! And I love it! Here's to you! I Only Want You

I wondered what happened to your Champion covers. Guess I know now Congrats you two! I believe it can happen that fast because it did for me - 28 years ago now. Best wishes to two great folks! Scott EDIT: I DO have to admit that I came back to check that your original post wasn't on April 1.

Congrats, Andy and Polly. Niteshift, I've been shouting for months and nothing like that has ever happened to me. Good thing, too.
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Polly, did you see his avatar!? LOL Hey! I felt the same way on here when first communicating with Sub, Iggy and Scott! I met Sub, and although our eyes glazed over, we just got into Kung Foo and then music. When Iggy first walked through the door, it was love's anticipation from here that had us both blushing! Then we got down,,,,,,,to music! I haven't met Scott yet, although he may or may not come up for this Sunday's game to hear his song at the world champs Phillies stadium, (outside actually,,,,,,we get no respect!) But if he does come here,,,I hope my wife and his doesn't get in the way of us running towards each other on my flowing grass front lawn. Ah,,,isn't love great! Congrats! I hope your expectations are reached, as mine has.

Congratulations, guys!
I met my wife in November on a short visit to Bakersfield, CA.; proposed to her in mid-December; we got married on Feb 6th. That was 16 years ago. I ended up staying in California for almost 6 more years until I drug her out to St. Louis. She still tolerates me!
Best of everything to you!

Glad to hear Overseas Romances ARE Still Happening..(& yep, Paperwork was a Bear...Swiss messed with us for over 6 months..we finally got hitched in Heidelberg, where I was stationed/only took 1 month..& then had a Church Weddin' in Switz, no paperwork to go thru.)

I must say that this is a bit of a shock! {Polly is a pal of mine} I wish you both the best, but it all seems a little impulsive {to say the LEAST!} Just take it slow and don't get ahead of yourselves.{How bizarre that I of all people would be the voice of REASON!} Andy, looking forward to meeting you when you come to Cincy!

WOW!!! Having been present at the very first meeting, I've got to share with you the verse I wrote that day=--evening-night----Being psychic and all <G>--I only changed the last line a little
When Andy Met Polly
When Andy met Polly They lit up the sky Fire flashed between then 'Twas like day though at night The birds were all startled Right out of their nests When Andy met Polly It worked out the best
Way to go you two!!!!!--Best of luck Wy

Dear Polly and Andy,
I think it's swell, You "Just Plain Fell", in love on "Just Plain Folks", I wish you both much happiness, But wish you love the most!
This calls for an engagement song, I do believe I have one in my collection...hold tight........
"Happy Ever After" (needs melody) (c)2007 Lynn Orloff
He's worked an extra job for thirteen months now And lately she gets real annoyed he's not around He tells her that he's got a lot of bills to pay Smooths things over with a night out on the town
She doesn't know that he's been savin’ up in secret For that shinin' diamond ring he wants to buy He's getting ready for that happy ever after She's the happy ever after reason why
Chorus He's getting ready for that happy ever after And tonight's the night he's waited for so long He wants to be the one to share her tears, her laughter He only wanted happy ever after all along
He takes her to her favorite finest downtown restaurant Has the violinist play their special song Gives her flowers that he picked himself that morning Says he's tired that the day's been kind of long
Disappointed that the evenin's ending early She clears her throat so she can speak what's on her mind Then he reaches in his pocket for that small black velvet box She smiles and cries when he says for the first time...
Are you ready for our happy ever after I've kept this secret to myself for far too long And from that look inside your eyes, I guess I caught you by surprise Together’s where I think we know we both belong
Final Chorus They're getting ready for their happy ever after Tonight will start those sweet tomorrows one by one They'll share for years each other's tears, each other's laughter Their happy ever after's have only just begun

Great story. If I am not mistaken our Bobby Gallup and Corky (Dawg) Bernard met on the internet. Might have been right here on JPF. And Pineyfest was born of that union. As they say, Love is where you find it. And it certainly can be found in strange places. I met my soul mate in 1977 in the back of an Ambulance. I knew it the moment I saw her. It took me a couple years to come around to accepting my fate, I was very stubborn, but she was patient. And I am the lucky and better man for it. Good luck you two. And be sure to let us know when you will be in Nashville. Heck we might even be able to have a little get together. I cook a mean steak on the grill and if you are Vegan we can do that too.

Wow! Haha, as I read Polly's and Andy's comments, this seems such a stretch, seems like infatuation. But I remember when I have been like that, so much in love it consumes you. Yes, I wrote a song about it. Ah, love. I hope it works out.

Congratulations Andy and Polly (whom I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting here) I can soooooo relate to your situation. I visited Vancouver on a whim a couple of years ago and met the love of my life. After 8 months of flying up from LA every 3 or 4 weeks to spend time with her, I packed up and moved as far North as possible, while staying on U.S. soil. Google Point Roberts, Wa. LOL! The border issues are very real, but love conquers all!

Congrads again. I met my wife at a square dance. We were both 17 and really had nothing better to do that night and so went. Have been together ever since. )Over thirty years together now.
I am going to wish you all the happiness in the world.

You'll probably think it's retarded, but I can't write like you guys can. Anyway, the guitar strumming goes; Da...da, da da da-da-da....Da...da, da da da-da-da (not like Beevis and Butthead though, hee hee) Like Lovers Do What did you say? You cannot wait another day To hear my voice again It lets the light shine in What you don't know is that I get you on the phone And I can breathe again I feel complete again I can feel the draw to you I know you feel it too chorus: Ba - by just hang on tight As we lay alone another night Look at the moon...I'm looking at it too Soon you'll be at my door We won't be lonely anymore Just see'in stars...wrapped in eachother's arms Like lovers do. What's that you say?
