You all shouldn't worry too much about the end results.. it's the PROCESS that is supposed to be fun. The end results of all our lives is going to be death (beyond that is up to your religion). But what matters is what you do while you're ALIVE. You guy are living and having fun making music. Doing a group project gives you a way to share all that with friends. That's the funnest way to enjoy music. So don't look to the end result as the validation of the experience. From everything I have seen, the process has been a huge success for everyone involved! I am really proud of all of you who followed through and everyone else who has cheered you on. Even the Ourstage folks have been quite impressed by the community cooperation of you 10 and were quite amused to hear the story behind why they got all these Nowhere Man covers all of the sudden. They think it's really cool.
Congrats!
Brian

Thanks Brian...of course JPF and its "We are all in this together" mentality is the real reason this project was born and is a success. Final results of polls, positions and pecking orders mean nothing....it is the fun of taking part that counts.

No doubt "Nowhere Man" was an odd choice. But just imagine if we had pasted the joint with a dozen "Bohemian Rhapsody" covers.... OurStage is not a good indicator of the quality of the covers we've done...it's more an indication of the response by voters to too much of the same song...it's confusing them and probably annoying them. I think any one of our versions all alone would have fared better.

I quite agree with you Brian...It was a fun PROCESS, the picking, thinking about your version, trying to be original, and then enjoying what everyone did ! I don't care about the ourstage thing at all.

I was thankful...for the competition for another reason too. I started to fill out the Ourstage information back in March 08....but it gave me the push to both upload some songs... and try to do an instrumental cover. best..... Kaley

And don't foget.... there's a bag of crisps ( probabally soggy ) and a single beer as the prize. And unlike some particular contests, Big Jim and myself will ensure that you are paid when you win. cheers, niteshift

Yo IG, after a month I got back to this thread and finally heard your "Nowhere man". Good job. Love the harmony. It sounds like another quick cover for our band to help get the originals out! Now! Where is Daubert's.
