Mountain Girl , let's go out dancin' 7/28/08 ©Pete Larsen
Mountain Girl , let's go out dancin' 'neath the harvest moon tonight I'm in the mood for prancin' and that moon is oh so bright
Mountain people seem so friendly can't be wrong to breathe clean air your hair's so doggone healthy I could count each strand there
Ain't on the take, the make 'er prowl not out to make your inner lioness roar just wanna wipe away any bit of scowl and dance you 'round that mountain-hardwood floor
Mountain Girl , let's go out dancin' 'neath the harvest moon tonight I'm in the mood for prancin' and that moon is oh so bright
I knew you were a dilly when I looked into your eyes you looked right back through me not one bit surprised so self-assured and casual , that how mountain-people are? must have somethin' to do with viewing crispy mountain stars
Mountain Girl , let's go out dancin' 'neath the harvest moon tonight I'm in the mood for prancin' and that moon is oh so bright
We'll be scootin crost the dancefloor without one care in this-here world those mountain boys will have to wonder how they missed such a perfect pearl...
Yee Haw let's go dancin' , mountain Girl
Here we are wracking our brains today to write lyrics that rhyme and if we succeed, they'll end up in time as tommorrow's cliche's... Pete

Hi Pete I just saw this - how very cool - it really sings already ! Ha I think that you have been working on your writing, right along - just not sharing it with Us eh? Great chorus.... can't find too much to pick on. I'm just gonna enjoy it . ! Glad I got you to put it down - it's a good one jm

Hi Pete, I like this. Like JM, I can't really find anything to crit or nit so I'll just read again and tap along with it. I love the line about "crispy mountain stars" , very cool, imo. Nice writing.

Joice Marie It's not that I'm stingy about sharing ; just didn't want to detract from someone elses "dance tune" , so I bided my time 'til the coast was relatively clear . It has been a long time in the making , only hope it worth the wait , it has been swiming around in my head for some time now as you know... I'll take it's a good one from you anytime... Pete

Sweet Caroline, I've been inclined to agree well , is that so biased of me "good times just never seemed so good" be one heck of a song if Neil Diamond didn't already do it... SHUCKS!!!

Kaley Willow , You don't have to let me off the hook so easy , just because I havn't wrote much lately. You caught me red-handed with my pants down and my hand in the cookie-jar! That line originally was twice as longand went sorta like.
if I'd the time ,I could count each and every strand of sandlewood colored hair there
As you can see , most of that line ended up on the cutting-room floor . Good eye , Kaley . It's nice to know you still can't get away with much around here... Pete
