The reason we don't delete stuff like this is because this post will now show up in Search Engines around the world when people search for this company. When that happens, people will come here and see where we asked legit questions and got nothing but non-answers and ill tempered responses.

If you can't answer legit questions, then you aren't legit. And anyone who wants to read this for themselves will be able to come to the same conclusions. I see that Ismael has used spell check to correct his earlier posts. At least one positive thing has come from this. He's learned how to use spell check! Hooray!

Thanks for telling us everything we need to know about your company without actually answering any questions or giving any factual info on what you do, how you do it, who the names are behind your claims or why any sane or rational person would ever give you 30 cents, let alone 30,000 dollars.

Is that $30,000 required upfront or can we use record sales and performance fees to pay it off?

Thanks Brian was going to suggest locking one or other as it gets confusing with two almost identical sets of posts.

Hey Ismael If nothing else I admire balls. Even one sucker at $30,000 is a lot of cash to a con man erremm sorry I mean invester/promotor.

Well I am sure that the way this fellow is advertising the names of so many big stars, one of two things will result. Either the cease and desist letters will be forthcoming, or if he really does have legitimate connections someone will step in to shut this guy up and hire someone who knows how to promote the business before it is totally destroyed.

I checked out the site out of curiosity.

Tyrone, I don't understand why you don't explain the benefits of what you're selling. That's a key principle of marketing: sell the benefits. If you're asking for $30Gs you should at least list out what the artist is going to get. Not just "advertising" and "marketing" but specific stuff.

It's just not enough to say your marketing guy worked for Michael Jackson. You don't even list his name on your site. Why? That just makes it look like you're hiding something.

If you can't answer these questions, no one is going to take a chance on your company...

OK, I saw the reply that says "Up front". Do you realize that you are probably taking folks life's savings or, even worse, causing them to go into major debt to come up with $30K. That is totally despicable and will be the cause of great heartbreak and suffering to the majority of folks (if not all) who pay you that fee.

I am glad you THINK you are totally honest and upfront, but from where I sit you are basically just going to steal people's money. WHY? Because quite a few of those folks will never make it, no matter how much you can "push" them. Why #2? I doubt that you can deliver on your promises.

Kevin

Brian: No charge from the trailer park for this one.

Ah Geez, this is still going ? WOW, the trailer park sure is jumping today. smile Just keep posting ismael, it really makes my day and directs a whole heap of gullible people from blowing their money.

How to spot a shark.....

1. Can't spell
2. Doesn't put up a website in the initial post
3. Makes claims without verifiable industry references
4. Does not provide a physical street address
5. Is evasive about detail
6. Will not answer direct questions
7. Becomes defensive upon closer scrutiny
8. Becomes abusive when pushed on detail
9. Has no idea that professional industry reps do not make
varacious claims on public internet forums.
10. Asks for money upfront without checking an artists
suitability for niche marketing in the given genre.
11. Name drops well known artists and pretends to be closely
associated with them.
12. Runs song competitions at $300 per entry fee
13. Also runs ( supposedly ) a sound studio. Used most probably
to augment income where the artists recordings are "not
quite good enough for distrubution"
14. Runs a multi-facited "label" to leveredge the initial bait
and switch
15. Uses the success of others to promote himself ( father in
this instance ) to replace a viable industry resume.
16. Is unrealistic in expectatoions and outcomes
17. Has not researched the supposed client base and presumes all
forum members live in trailer parks
18. Is wasting time in an unprofessional manner, thus
demonstrating lack of industry experience
19. Solicits money rather than building up industry respect
20. Provides entertainment to bored forum members looking for
a laugh.

OK, there's probably many more. Just email me your resume, standard contract and one ( yes, only one ) industry reference, at current executive level from one of the 4 majors and we'll see how we go.

Oh, I forgot, you haven't even listened to my music, but I guess that doesn't matter since I'd be the one forking out the $30k.

cheers, niteshift

I think we gave Ismael plenty of opportunities to answer questions, correct his spelling and get a clue. I think he did at least learn to use spell correct on his computer, so at least something was accomplished. He may not be the brightest illegitimate company we've ever had here but he was pretty persistent with his complete lack of professionalism, I will give him credit for that.

Now this is detailed forever here and will soon show up in search engines demonstrating his ability to market someone (himself) for all to see. If any artist would want that CEO representing them for free, let alone for a fee, they deserve the results they'll get.

RIP Ismael Records. We won't miss you (except for the laughs that is).

Hey Ismael
Anyone with any grey matter would have given up by now. If you are legit then you have done your business untold damage by your moronic outbursts and rantings. If you think that anyone would even contemplate being represented by you then you are even more stupid than we first thought. To insult anyone or their friends, whilst asking them to part with huge amounts of money is not in the good sales technique handbook and is not recommended. When people Google you now they will see just what kind of a person and outfit you are.
From all of us "trailer park tramps" we wish you success in your new future ventures, cause this one is dead in the water.

One thing for sure,he dosen't discourage easily and he's stubborn, which could be a good trait for someone pitching music.

Yeah, just needs a little "boot camp" training from the fine music biz "marines" here at JPF.
There's plenty of mentors here to keep a guy learning for years... Huah! grin

nightshift,
you did a great job exposing this so called bigwig marketing agent for what they are...scam artist and probably NWA how am i so sure? If they were so parofessional they would not let this senseless bickering go on and just leave or face up to the fact they made a bad first impression and move on to bigger and better. Being an ex diskjockey and music director for a reporting station, I am quite well versed on just what it takes to market a record and how promoters pray on the ignorance of truly talented people...

that will ber 2 dollars

Brian,

gosh, am i on the payroll? i think the checks are getting lost in the trailer park mailbox.

I doubt that because i came up with a counter scam, all of the sudden i am on a mysterous "Brian Austin Whitney" crooney list. (i hope i am the muscle)
i was hoping that someone who lies as much as this guy, would be quicker on the draw.

Musicians that I have seen on the net want money up front for their services.
You can't outsmart wannabes like me either.
I let them know.

I like the guy with the broken string guitar that plays to anyone.

He said, son, don't fall for beggars and solicitors.

Good Lord could he tell us it's 30,000 dollars one more time I'm not sure I understand what his fee is? Is it $30,000 or could it be different? lol

HiDee Folks!

I visited Ishmael's site...not the Biggest..or most-impressively laid-out, but it's Legitimate, as sites go. Ishmael's Dad was in The Flamingos..."I Only Have Eyes for You"..Remember it? & his Staff..not all Too-Well described or named..sounds like some WITH Industry Experience.

Experience isn't NECESSARILY Active "Connections"...as things go.

But, my guess is Your $30K gets you a nice Recording Session, X-Number of Nicely Pressed-&-Printed CDs..a Release Party..& yeah, your CD goes into a batch of Record Stores. NO Guarantee, however, that you're gonna RECoup your investment...even with the Promised Airplay, Promo, etc.

But that's Life. SOME Stars who shall remain Nameless reportedly spent MILLIONS of their own loot to get where they are.

But..I guess the Bottom-Line is How Badly DO ya wanna get Discovered? And...DO these guys have any "Exhibit A" Success Stories..RECENT ONES..to Brag About or not?

If Not...better ya spend a few Grand in a Recordin' Studio...design & market your own CD..& send it off to CDBaby.com..& get CD & Digital Distribution for (think the whole sheboodle's $35-40.) Sell enough THERE, & a Major Label just might contact ya for FREE.

Or, worst case scenario, you're only out a couplea grand...And..You can Try Again...& Afford-to.

Best of Luck,

Hey, even if this guy is legit, for what I've heard, if I wanted to get a great recording done at a great price so I could put my songs out there for sale, I'd go see Sub. I think he's this site's best kept secret.

I do not know why this very old thread was resurrected. The guy was exposed way back then and he could not come up with anything in reply other than insults. He could not even unlock the caps lock button on his keyboard..... so shows you how much talent he has. Sheesh. But if anybody wants to blow a huge amount of cash on a record I can recommend several places I would rather go first.

What he's doing is Legal, but it ain't Legit. The legit way is to front the service and take the payment out of sales proceeds. Doing it this way is grabbing a year or two's salary from a starving artist and calling it a good deal.

No one can buy stardom.

Except for Paris Hilton. But even she probably didn't pay up front either...

Hey Brian

Truth be told I don't think there are many serious artists that would have taken this guy seriously and anyone else who would wouldn't be able to afford him lol. So there probably wasn't much chance he could sucker anyone; however, kudos for shutting him down and revealing the proverbial wolf in sheeps clothing he was. Thanks for looking out for all of us Brian aka Sheepdog! (my new moniker for ya wink ).

So far I've saved up $149.50. If this guy is still around in 27 years, I think I'll be ready for him to record my demo. I'm so excited!! smile
