"Love By Accident" is your hit. You would do well to perform it on the show my friend.

Good luck Phil. It's nice to see you on line. Phil's been a member since 1999 when he performed during our first East Coast Roadtrip. We've had at least 1 JPF member on every Nashville Star and had 3 last year alone. Hopefully you can keep the streak alive.

Hey Phil,
I'LL MEET YOU THERE!! I'm leaving Wednesday afternoon, meeting with publishers on Thursday, and will be there Friday. I'll have on a black cap, so look for me! I'm wondering when the line will start forming, or even if that fancy hotel will allow people to camp out the night before??
Good luck to ya bro!!

Long Tall Drink of Water seems to get the best response... I like She's With Me All The Time the best though...
Hey Orlando... I'll keep an eye out for you...
I'm gonna try and camp out the nite before... I'm sleeping in my car... no $$$ for hotel... we'll see what happens...

Good luck. No doubt in my mind, "Long Tall Drink of Water" is the best of the bunch. Good beat, good lyrics = Good time!

Oops...
I forgot to wish Orlando good luck too. Wish I could be a little fly on the wall watching the two of you perform.
Sorry, Phil... I didn't mean to "steal your thread."
My best to both of you.

Well I didn't make it... the drive was 11hrs one way... Got there around 6pm they said we could not line up till 5am... So we got it line at 11pm... they ran us out... so we came back at 3am... and they finally gave up...
I was #4 in line... I sang for like 25 seconds... I think they had a "look" in mind... 'cause some Absolutely Awesome voices were passed over... My group and a few others after us were not even allowed to play our instuments...
John Rich came in a few groups later and said he wanted the people to play and sing...That he needed to see that...
I asked a producer how they could change rules in the middle and I was told "'cause John Rich is a Super Star, he can change the rules" and if I wanted tio I could get at the end of the line and audition again... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!
John Rich also decided not to let any 16 and 17yr olds through... After the website said 16 and up... some people came very far to be turned away because they were 16 and 17yrs old...
They never ask what instruments you play, or if you write...which seems to me would make a difference...
John Rich made me mad too... 'cause I watched him do an interview where he said he is always looking for talent... and sometimes he comes out of the grocery store and there might be a CD taped to his windshield and he doesn't throw them away he always listens to them blah blah blah...
so after the interview I walked up and asked if he would listen to my demo and he said "I Can't Take that" I asked Why and he said I would be disqualified from Nashville star... I told him politely I was already passed over and out of the competition, and he turned his back an walked away...
It was still a good time... And they had like 3000+ people to go through... so I guess some talent is missed for the sake of time etc...
I'll still probably do it again next year...

Thanks for letting us know, Philip. You endured an ordeal and were still able to put a positive spin on things. (Much better than I would have.)
I know you were disappointed. Makes me glad I never attempt to perform. If you try again next year, we'll be in your corner... and Orlando Luckey's, too.

Hey Phil,
Wish I would have gotten the chance to meet you! I was there at 6am, got into the building around 4-ish. Made it pass the first judge, signed my waiver, got my Nashville Star sticker on my chest, and they hauled us upstairs for the 2nd interview with the cameras and lights and everything. There were 3 judges in that room, very bright lights. They liked my name, my being able to play 14 instruments, and asked for a 2 songs (I had my acoustic with me). They liked what they heard, but chose a duo.
It was good experience, but that does not take away from them changing the rules on you. Not cool.
