Well, hello everybody! Just when you thought it was safe, Bob Young shows up again. Yeah...I'm still at it. This a song I wrote for an animal adoption organization here in Chicago. We recorded it last week...there are 5 musicians and a collie named Spunky on the recording. The only time more than one instrument was recorded at the same time was the very first tracks..Jerry on drums and me on bass. Then I added a couple of guitars and a mandolin (buried somewhere in the final mix) Then some scratch vox and the trumpet and trombone..then piano..final vox and Sounky. Spunky only had to bark once, then we sampled him into the mix at various places and pitches. It was lots of fun to get back into the studio... Enjoy! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=6261677&q=hi&newref=1Take me home..and I'll be good to you Take me Home....and I'll make all your dreams come true I'm out here all alone..and I'm yours for your very own Take me home..andI'll be good to you It's plain to see..you look like you could do with a friend Just like me..to be with you thru thick and thru thin I'm out here all alone..and I'm yours for your very own Take me home..and Ill be good to you Thru good and bad and stormy weather you and I will stick together side by side I'll get you thru the cloudy days and make you smile a million ways and I don't mind (believe me!) take me home outro into big finish!

Hi Bob, I really enjoyed thissun'. I'm an animal lover so it hits home. No Nits. I think it was well put together. Thanks for sharing. My only suggestion is you change the link to this one, so it doesn't take me off my JPF page to listen to it: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=6712&content=songinfo&songID=6261677PS I posted one about your home town. If you get a min., have a peek.

Oh, Bob! That's so sweet. Love the harmonies and the dog barking......it's just a fun song all the way around. Hugs to you on this rainy and dreary Saturday.

Hey Bob! Great Tune, great cause, great fit all around! I must say, I was first intrigued by your thread title: "Take Me HOM"...I reckoned you meant HOME, but I thought perhaps you were soliciting some action with a chippie named HOM! Glad I got THAT settled! Also, I was extra interested in this song, as John V. recently sent me a link to your performance at the Village Tavern in November. You were singing the song about what you found in the pocket you got at the Salvation army. It was hysterical, and totally up my alley humor-wise. So at the risk of "gherming", (is that what it's called?) I'd love you to take a peek at the song which inspired John to send me your link. It's a song called "Syllables for Sale"...and here's the link, I THINK: http://www.jpfolks.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=584527&page=5#Post584527Not looking for any handouts...just would so appreciate your comments on it. Certainly, if time and circumstance don't allow, I more than understand. Anyhoo, it sure was a fun listen. And on behalf of all the little critters you've helped out with this ditty, THANK YOU! Ciao for now, Beth

That village tavern gig features the guys that helped on this recording..the guy doing the bong sounds is Jerry the drummer..
John Voorpostel is a great guy and very talented..also my all time favoritte Canuck.
I'll check out that song..thanks for the link

Hey Bob, Thanks so much for agreeing to take a gander at my song. And very cool about the "supporting cast" in the video. I could just sit there and listen to you all the live-long day. The sound effects of the bong were so clever!! As for John V., guess his ears'll be ringing...though the winner of my "Favorite Canuck Award" will have to go to an old flame of mine...who was moved to woo me with this romantic nugget: "You have the body of a 14 year old, but the mind of a 17 year old" Hee hee, that still cracks me up, years later. 'Course at the time, it was very Maurice Chevalier.... Take care, and I look forward to hearing what you have to say about "Syllables For Sale".... Ciao for now, Beth
