I have one black matted finish cow bell, two new drum sticks, and a black nylon guitar strap.
Asking $5.00 plus postage.

Aw man, that's tempting!! I'm not sure when I'll even need a cow bell, but owning one would be cool. And my 5th grader just started percussion, so I know he needs the sticks. Send me a PM with your email, and I'll PayPal you the $5 and get you my shipping address. Thanks!! I love this place... Linda

Hi Linda- I just now saw your response. I am not getting e-mail notification through JPF' for responses to any of my threads.
Anyways, I'll send you a PM.
Tnx

Dang. I missed it. There are some songs (not many) that just *demand* a cowbell. Linda, at least you live reasonably close (if the price of gas doesn't climb *too* much higher).

You always need cowbell. In fact, you usually need more of it!

Good point, Scott. I can think of very few songs (of mine, anyway) that would not be improved by the addition of cowbell.

Mark - I'm ROFL with your new avatar. What a hoot!! Joe, you just send me those tracks you need it on, and I will cowbell my little heart out for ya anytime. :-) Neener-neener-neener, I got the cowbell.... LOL --And my 11-yr old put the sticks to good use learning snare last year. So it's all for a good cause. Linda

Linda, I will do that. Thank you. Most of the time, it'll just be a touch of color (like using sheep and frogs for backup singers)--but the time will come (I can feel it) when there'll be a need for a Whole Cowbell Lead. Would love to attribute it to you.

I think it would be cool and fun to be credited with "cowbell" on one of Joe's songs. Scott

I have never written a cow song. (Well, not one that was worth keeping. "Dead Cows and the Internet" just wasn't very good, and I promptly forgot it.) Cow*bell* in a song is a different matter. I hear a groundswell of public opinion demanding it here <g>, and I will do my best to comply. (Always do what the fans want, and all that.) Linda, I'll be in touch--hopefully soon.

Jack, I'll see what I can do. I know a fellow up in Canada who can get me recordings of farm animals (he's responsible for my backup chorus of sheep in "Sheep Are Real Good, Too"); I'll ask him about cows.
Something Beatlesque, maybe. "I herd the moos today, oh boy..."

Gentlemen, we all know very well that it isn't how much cowbell, but which beats we give it. My favorite cowbell song is the Rolling Stone's "Honkey Tonk Woman." The intro to that song is simply one-of-a-kind. My second favorite, of course, is the infamous "Low Rider" song! haha!
