You want a lot of money to represent artists. If you do a poor job representing yourself (as is apparent here) why would you do a better job for your clients? See the problem? For that much money, someone should expect a very high level of professionalism. That would include spelling things correctly. Nearly everyone has a spell check available. Use it. Present your company in a positive light. And when someone points out a problem, handle your response professionally as well rather than attacking the person who pointed the problem out. That is how business is done among real people.

As for the Michael Jackson point, you missed it entirely. Michael Jackson doesn't have the most positive reputation these days. Few artists would want to be associated with that name from a marketing point of view. If you fail to see that, how can you successfully represent artists? It's all about PR. You need to work on those skills. Or you can get angry and lash out and have everyone think you're not professional enough to handle serious marketing campaigns. You need to be able to interact with all types of media and all types of people. Some may not be hip to the same things others might be. As an artist representative in the marketing realm, you need to understand that and be savvy enough to handle interactions with all types of people.

Now you can ignore this common sense advice if you want. But that's a reality check you need to have.

I make no judgement either way I have never heard of you until today.

Anyway... We get a lot of sharks here trying to rip people off. Brian, to my mind did not attack you but made an observation about your post and offered some advice. By writing continuiously with "caps lock" on making all your replies in capitals... in our world is like you yelling at us. It is normally a sign that the person typing is young or computer illiterate/ english illiterate. All of these things are usually a sign that the poster lacks professionalism and increases the chances of them being a shark.

If we are wrong in thinking your organisation is just another shark preying on our dreams then surely you and your organisation would be better served by allaying [sp] our fears and showing us you are not ... maybe bring someone we've all heard of to talk to us.... and offer advice..

By taking the "We'll react how we damm well please" attitude just re-enforces our perception of your organisation. That cannot help your organisation.

sorry, but we disagree, from a marketing point of view, the album thriller is still one of the best selling albums in the world, why wouldnt any artist want that kind of marketing?. your getting michael jacksons personal life confused with the marketing of thriller, the two have nothing whatsoever in common.

So why not give the actual name of this person who is the marketing expert, rather than someone they once worked for? Then anyone can do due dilligence to check out the references, verify the claims and use that info to make an educated decision on whether you offer valid services? If the person is a marketing genius, then it seems THEIR name would be the most important thing to drop, not Michael Jacksons.

There are very few legitimate services worth $30,000. There are no services worth that which can't supply specific names, examples of current and previous clients and success examples and plenty of easy to check references to prove the veracity of all claims. That's how legitimate companies, especially those charging a very high premium, operate. So here's your chance to supply that info to 100K visitors per day to our site.
